I stopped by for lunch today, a Friday, and they were closed. Not sure if they’re out of business.

If you like FLAVOR, this is the place to go. The chicken is way better than the Peruvian chicken in other restaurants. It is juicer, tenderer and more flavorful. The steak is the best I have ever had. Everything I had was delicious. I was amazed this little humble place has such amazing food. I was very impressed and can’t wait to go back to try more dishes.
Some GPS may not show it’s exact location. It is located in a small shopping center next to the Sunoco gas station at the corner of Clopper Rd and Liberty Mill Rd.

Nuestra experiencia fue horrible. Llegamos al lugar luego de manejar 50 millas con los niños y perdernos para que las personas que estaban al frente nos recibieran con esta mirada de pocos amigos, como si no desearan tener clientes. Luego, ibamos a ordenar las bebidas y lo unico que tenian era pepsi y maracuya… mmmmm…no good… asi que nos paramos y nos fuimos. En realidad le hubiese dado cero, que atencion mas desagradable, no se lo recommendo a nadie, lo unico bueno es un tele grande que tienen y nada mas.

Sadly, I stopped going here. One star because the owner is kind and one star because the food is great… when you can get it. It’s too much of a hassle to get food from this place! Sometimes the phone isn’t working which makes it impossible to call in and place a take out order. Not a big deal right? I live right down the street so I’ll just go there and order and wait. Then after the food I’ve been waiting patiently for is ready and I go to pay, I’m told the credit card machine isn’t working. Okay fine. 7 – 11 is right here and ill just get some cash. Get home with my food after all of this and my order is wrong!!! That was the last time I went there and I won’t be back. I miss it so much because the food is SO good, but it’s too frustrating trying to get food from here. Also, they don’t follow the hours that are posted on Unilocal or on the restaurants door.

The place is one of the best in the area regarding latin cuisine. Dont let the appearance of the place fool you. The mofongo is really good and the carne asada is to die for. The prices are pretty reasonable. Overall if you like home latin cuisine this is the place you need to come.

Please, please don’t let the location of this place deter you — you won’t be disappointed.
The shrimp with tomato in cream sauce is amazinggggggg. Others we tried were the pupusas and carne asada. Huge portions for a great price, and the owner is very humble and kind, too.

Morongo smothered in chicken stew gave me a great traditional taste… My wife enjoyed the pollo a la plancha, but wouldn’t stop picking off of my plate!

Delicious pupusa (with mixed pork and cheese) and shrimp in tomato cream! Very friendly staff. Yummy bannana cheesecake. Had a very good meal. More people should come!

After a long weekend of moving into our new place the thought of going out to eat was monstrous. However, we also didn’t want substandard delivery service. The thought of another night of dominoes or Papa John’s (while good in their own right) didn’t do justice to the appetite we had worked up after un-​boxing and cleaning. After reading the reviews on Unilocal we gave it a try. The reviews were great and they delivered so why not. We both ended up with steak dishes and dessert and they were all fantastic. We will definitely be adding this to our repertoire for delivery.

The pupusas and the shrimp with tomato in cream sauce were great! Also, my husband loved his steak. The owner was extremely nice. I definitely recommend El Punto for anyone looking for a good carry out or delivery place in Gaithersburg.

I am SOOO glad I found this place. The food is GEAT. I usually get the steak tacos or the carribbean steak. You can really never go wrong with anything here. Try some and you will know I am right!

Went here last night with my fiancé after reading reviews and hearing great things from his employee. This place has authentic DR food. I ordered the carne asada which was very flavorful and most importantly, not dry. My other half ordered the chicken guisado (chicken stew) — he loved it. We also got an order of plantains. I usually don’t like plantains but these were delicious! Will definitely be back.

I wanted to give this place a try. Today, Sunday, March 18^th, 2014 at 4:30pm I stopped by and the place is closed. No sign nothing! Just closed… Is it out of business or do they just open at random times? Bad business.

Awesome food! And the owners are very friendly! It’s a shame because it is located behind a gas station and not in a great plaza. But don’t let stop you!!! They even deliver! The tacos are awesome and so is the Caribbean steak!!! Go, go, go and eat here or get take out — you’ll miss out if you don’t!

Best pupusas in MoCo (with great latin slaw)! Great tacos! This place is struggling only because of its location. If it were in a more lively location instead of being behind a gas station and cattycorner from a tattoo parlor, they’d be hoppin’! They need, and deserve your patronage if you like latino foods (we gotta try the flautas), but they have so much more, e.g. Dominican specialties. The pescado frito (small whole fried fish) was particularly good, as were the accompanying fries, so we know they fry things well here, and we’ll try the flautas the next time.
If you’ve been reading my reviews, you may have noticed that I’m not big on sweets/​desserts, so when I tell you to «take the cheesecake,» you really should. Deep fried in a light shell, it’s creamy, delicious and, like the accompanying cinnamon ice cream, not too sweet!

Awesome Pupusas! Best I’ve found in upper Montgomery County. Mofongo was what I was hoping for — delicious! Even their steak tacos were very authentic Mexican. Definitely a gem and right in my own backyard. We will be back often. They also deliver.

This place is really good! The sopa the res (beef soup) is so tasty, pescado frito was yummy and finnally the carribean stake was fantastic. Also the server had good costumer service.

This place is great! Was searching for some Mangu, which is easy to find in NYC but not so easy to find in Maryland. Well, I am so glad I found this place on Unilocal and decided to check it out. The mangu portion was HUGE! and cooked to order, so extremely fresh. My husband had the mofongo, and he is really picky about his mofongo, and he loved it! We will be back. =)

Ate here with my mom and brother. All of us enjoyed this place.
Great service. Really good food.
My faves were the pupusas. My mom loved the carne asada. My brother’s favored the beans/​rice.
It’s small and unassuming, but I would definitely come back.

The server alicia was very sweet. Try the guisados (ask for spicy) for traditional dominican stews. The pupusa was nice. the sopa de res out of the world (ask for spicy)

My cousin and I had a long day at work and stopped for dinner. It was pretty empty. The server was very attentive. My cousin ordered the fried fish. I ordered the carne asada. Good portions for the price. Definitely a great place for a quick meal. Highly recommend this place.
