The best ice cream from Maine! Great Sundeas and chocolates! And a quaint building and town!

I really love this place! They have Giffords ice cream, which I had never heard of before, but it’s delicious! They have TONS of flavors, and specialty sundaes. They also have a full candy store. Their raspberry lime ricky is excellent. Their prices for ice cream and sundaes are beyond reasonable. Most of their sundaes are under $ 5 for a small, and under $ 6 for a (huge) medium. The atmosphere is great, too! They play classic rock and/​or older rock and roll on their radio, and they have stacks of board games, so you can linger and play a game while you enjoy your ice cream. They have outdoor seating, too. Like I said, I really love this place!

With so many local ice cream places to choose from the ice cream has to be good. I didn’t even know they were just down the street from my house and drive past every day. The banana split is literally a take out box full of ice cream and topping which is certainly enough to for three. One half of the store is a candy store selling delicious chocolates by the pound. The chocolate is smooth and rich, and not gritty or overly sweet. This is a great place and you certainly get enough ice cream for the price which is low compared to most.

I got really turned off when stopping by with my 4 year old son to try out their coffee, the woman tried to «upsell» me by pitching an ice cream to my son at 11 AM ! «Wouldn’t you like an ice cream little boy»? Unbelievable !!!
A few months later I figured I would give this place another try… so I stopped by again and the exact same thing happened. This is not a good way to win over customers.

I noticed the manager writing a complete denial that this ever happened. Could I have been mistaken? Am I delirious? NO ! After I place my order for coffee… an older woman leans over the counter, looks my 4 year old son right in the eye and solicits him for an ice cream. TWICE ! (on 2 completely separate days) No mistake on my part.
This up-​selling to a child is just plain bad business as is suggesting it never even happened! The coffee drink was OK but was way overpriced for the small size of the cup and I don’t mind paying a modest premium for quality products. I would never return now even if they made everything free.

Love this place! Great ice cream without getting eaten by mosquitoes. Super clean. And a variety of flavors you don’t see every day. Raspberry Red Wine Gelato? Yummmmm!!!

Tried this place for the first time today because I bought a Groupon. I loved this place. Great ice cream. I had the Appalachian trail. It was amazing. You have to try the campfire smores too. Plus I can’t say enough about how delightful fun and happy the lady that helped us was. Great experience. I’ll be back soon for sure.
