Quality Carpets & Floors

I had engineered hardwood put in two rooms of our house and Travis did beautiful work. He is an exceptional young man. He was very precise in every stage of the work and I’m very proud of my floors. Dudley, the owner, is very easy to do business with and goes beyond the norm to please the customer… I highly recommend this company to do floors of any kind.

We had them give us a quote and both my wife and I thought it seemed reasonable so we decided to have them install the carpet in our new house. They were able to get it ordered and installed within a week. The guys did an amazing job installing the carpet and also protecting all of our furnishings. I highly recommend them.

I got five quotes to replace all 3500 square feet of flooring in our house. We had carpet, wood, and tile floors installed by Dudley’s crew. They did wonderful work. Dudley himself is impressive. I would call him to tell him about the few things that I noticed and wanted to have addressed, but before I could tell him, he would tell me what needed to be addressed (which matched my list) and then a few more! I eventually stopped spending my time calling him to be nit-​picky; he was already all over it! I have never had a business do work for me that provided this level of quality attention and service.
Also, when we reviewed the five quotes, Dudley had the lowest estimate. This concerned me because I thought his measurements were off. I didn’t want to be surprised by the final bill vastly exceeding the estimate. The other four competitors used measurements that were closer to each other. As it turns out, the other four all added extra «buffer» to their measurements which increased the quote. Dudley used a laser ruler that performed the measurements. His measurements were so accurate that when he was done laying the ceramic tile, we had one piece left. Yeah, one. He ordered some extras for me to keep in case I needed future repairs. After all was said and done, Dudley’s estimate was within a few hundred dollars of the actual bill. Awesome.
Lastly, don’t be disenfranchised by Dudley if he is tough to reach during the quote stage. I suspect based on my experience doing business with him that he maximizes his attention on the active customer projects he has going on. If you can be patient through this phase, once you commit, he’s reachable, actively engaged, and he’ll not only come through for you, but he’ll exceed your expectations. At least, he did for me!

We got three quotes when we decided to redo our house in Shady Oaks, outside of Georgetown, and they were all pretty close. Except for Home Depot whose quote apparently didn’t include removal or haul off of the existing carpet.
Anyway, we decided to go with Quality Carpet as Dudley Hill, the owner, just seemed laid back and honest. Also, his crew had been with him for years. That usually indicates consistent quality of work. Another thing that surprised us is while quoting with the other two vendors, they both mentioned immediately that they’ll need half of the money up front. That wasn’t a problem for us but when I mentioned paying half to Dudley, he just said that they would order the carpet, put it in and if we were happy, then we’d pay.
Well, they came out when they said they would, the job took a little less time than they said and the carpet and install was perfect. Not a wrinkle, bump or anything. We stayed in the house for two more years and the carpet was still tight as a drum.
If you’re considering carpets or any kind of flooring anywhere in the Austin area, I’d sure recommend Quality Carpets.
