Nunan Florist & Greenhouses

Update: My mom loved the arrangement! She could tell it was too beautiful to be ½ price. Her birthday is coming up so I’ll be back.

Called McClays in North Andover to order flowers for Mother’s Day. Apparently they have retired and sold/​gave their phone number to Nunans. OK, went ahead with the order anyway. Sent a bouquet the Thursday before Mother’s day. Mom said they were pretty enough but MUCH smaller than anything I had sent via McClays (30+ years) and they were wilted by Mother’s Day. Spent $ 52 on this. First time my mom has EVER been disappointed by a flower delivery.

Thank you to Nunan’s, who just made our day! My mother in-​law was in the hospital for over a week and was just released yesterday. We are so occupied with our infant son, we didn’t send flowers and felt awful. Upon waking this morning, we remembered it was my in laws 39^th wedding anniversary today. Epic fail!!! The guilt just doubled :(
We went online to order flowers from Nunan’s only to find they don’t deliver today. My husband called and they were kind enough to make an exception and deliver the flowers today for a very nominal fee. Sometimes it’s so hard to be across the country from your family when they need you. Nunan’s really made our day by delivering those flowers today and is sure to make my in-law’s day too. Besides having beautiful flower arrangements, they have heart, which is why they are the only florist I will ever use in that area again. Thank you again, Nunan’s!

I could not say enough great things about Nunan’s! Courtney, who is an absolute delight, did our wedding flowers impeccably. The wonderful thing about working with a greenhouse/​florist rather than just a traditional florist is they have access to a number of great plants/​etc. for you to rent. Courtney made a lovely «arch» with arching bradford pear branches that was romantic, perfect, and just what I imagined.
Our reception florals were equally lovely, with a romantic, soft, english country garden feel. She was a delight to work with every step of the way. I couldn’t recommend her more.

I ordered a delivery of loam and it came the same day! The driver was pleasant and friendly, and put the dirt exactly where I asked. The greenhouse and store itself is huge with a ton of variety. Lots of gorgeous annuals and perennials as well as tropical house plants and every accessory for all of your plant or lawn needs.

Amazing. I can not thank Courtney enough for turning my vision into a reality. Nunan’s (and more specifically, Courtney) created all the bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces and all things floral for our wedding this past weekend. I received so many compliments on all the flowers, and truly thank Courtney for her enthusiasm and talent. I wholeheartedly recommend Nunan’s (Courtney) for your wedding.

Everything was so fresh and vibrant and full. The flowers in the church looked even better than I had hoped and everything looked lovely at the reception too. I kept stopping to smell the peonies and admire the ranunculous. The center pieces were really well done. All of the guests who won the centerpieces took them home, which is a great sign! We heard from a lot of our guests that they thought flowers were beautiful. Nunan’s exceeded our expectations — thank you!

Beautiful selection!

I was looking for a very specific rare plant to finish off my garden and Steve Flynn from nunans helped me find what I was looking for. They didn’t have the plant because it was rare but Steve went above and beyond and tracked down the plant and had it delivered to his shop within a week.
The staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Its definitely a one stop shop.
I cant tell you how many times I was on my way to a birthday party and stopped in to get flowers, a card and a gift.
What a gem of a place!

I don’t know why they use the name «Nunan the Florist». Nunan’s is a garden center/​nursery and a very good one. This is the third year we’ve purchased a fair amount of plants from them to complete the landscaping around our house.
They’ve got four main areas that we shop in:
1) A huge area for trees and shrubs. We purchased some large hemlocks in 2007 that have thrived. In 2008, we didn’t have as good an experience with three large arborvitae and five shrubs. One arbovitae died, but they honored the warranty. This year we replaced a pine that had been damaged in the ice storm with a birch clump and had them plant the birch. They came when they promised and cleaned up afterwards and the birch clump is doing fine. They have a lot of unique plants that you don’t see at other centers or big box stores.
2) A large greenhouse where I’ve purchased indoor plants and herbs for my kitchen windows. A great place to visit in the winter and they have a parrott.
3) A large area for seasonal annuals that I visit every spring and fall.
4) An indoor area for plant food, fertilizer, tools and plant related decorations.
They also have piles of mulch that they sell, but we’ve never bought from them. AND there is an ice cream stand by the store.
I’d like them to have more parking and to expand their decorations area, but you can’t have everything.
Nunan’s is located on route 97 about a mile south of the center of Georgetown. Don’t blink. Its down a slight incline and hard to see if you’re going fast.

When your parents make you do the landscaping, i guess you come to the point where you can appreciate a quality florist. haha.
I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. Everything is priced well for the most part, and they have a giant selection. I’ve recently seen new plants there and set ups used as idea generators for your own garden. They’ll organize things in a way where you can envision your own yard and new things you can add. (if that makes any sense)
Anyways, Steve the owner is also a great guy. He is really nice if you ever have a question or a problem with anything.
Lastly, they have a parrot (or a macaw?) inside just chilling out. Pretty cool.
