I tried the tasting bar that Grapecreek winery opened in Georgetown. Nice building and location but the wines were a little spendy. Not sure why they don’t have chairs for someone to sit down — UNLESS you sign up for the membership which is free but they wanted my credit card for the membership — alert — if they want your credit card it isn’t free. The wines were good and I did enjoy the experience. The downtown is a really cool layout and seeing how the buildings are all redone is a charm.

I’ve been a member of wine clubs and visited many wineries and I can honestly say this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The wines are good. Not great, but not bad. The service, however, is horrible. The woman doing our tasting was rude and had no interest in telling us about the wines or the winery. Even still, we found a few wines we enjoyed and wanted to buy a bottle to enjoy on the patio but then discovered that there’s a «policy» that you have to be a member to buy a bottle to drink on site. Never in the 30+ wineries have I visited have I heard that. Don’t waste your time here.

Good place for a lovely wine tasting. You can sit and share a bottle in the VIP lounge upstairs. Lots of delicious wines to choose from.

Snobby wine place. Just wanted a glass of wine with hubby but they tried to entice us into joining their wine club in order to listen to music on the patio. Already a member of a wine club. So disappointing. Just a stone’s throw from Georgetown Winery and they were very welcoming.

Now everything is for members of the wine club only, because they have gotten so popular they say. Not even a chair to sit in for non-wine club members. We stopped in tonight for a glass of wine and they gave us a plastic cup for $ 10.83. Funny, they must think this is downtown Austin. We will not be back.

I’ve tasted wines all over the world, and Grape Creek’s wines match up with any vineyard anywhere. Whites are nice in the summer on the back porch and the reds make those cold evenings not so cold. Great staff, but the best is Rhonda. She takes her job very seriously, but is extremely service oriented. Join the wine club. It’s reasonably priced and worth it. Enjoy the private sitting room upstairs once you’re a member. Across the street from Gumbo’s, so make an evening out of it.

went today… did the 6 samples for $ 12 very nice staff [we had michelle] there was no place to sit while sampling… which i guess is a marketing tactic… but, after… i bought a glass of the merlot and we sat on back patio – which was nice i tried the following reds — merlot, bellisimo, mosaic, grand rouge, cabernet blanc rose, cab-syrah – i loved all but the mosaic and cab-syrah bought a bottle of the cab-blanc-rose $ 18.95 and got a souvenir glass as well

The wine is good but beware of their wine club. I haven’t received 3 shipments and have had to call multiple times to get my wine over the past few months. Not give you an idea: December 2013 was the first shipment I never received and it is not October 2014 and I am still jabbing to explain my situation. They have told me several times they are shipping my wine but they have yet to arrive. Being an upset customer I canceled my membership this summer only to see another $ 100 charge on my credit card for a wine shipment I no longer want/need. I joined another wine club to replace grape creek simply be uses their cups met service in the Fredericksburg location is lacking significantly and wine not showing up at my house is a huge waste of money. I will say that the first shipment I didn’t receive was because someone 21 and over has to be home to sign for the wine which is very hard to do when you work monday-Friday. I then changed my address to my work address but still never received the shipment(I am the only one that would sign for it). Needless to say, I am out over $ 300 now for wine that I can’t even get delivered. I think their system of operations is lacking a bit. Gladly took my money elsewhere.

I stopped in to do their wine tasting and was blown away! I’m usually very picky about wines but there was not one wine that I sampled that I did not like. Added bonus was getting to keep your wine glass as a souvenir. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town for a few days!

This is the«sister» tasting room to Grape Creek Vineyards in Fredericksburg, TX. Located in Georgetown’s town square, across the street from the courthouse, Grape Creek-Georgetown is in a charming renovated building. There is a tasting room and a really nice large patio to and sip if you so please. Grape Creek wines can only be purchased at their three locations; and at a few restaurants. Over the past two years, GPV has won over 100 for wine competitions in Texas, Canada, New York, and yes, even California. Texas wines have come a long way in recent years, and I believe GCV is right at the top. Wine tastings are $ 12 for your choice of 6 and a souvenir glass to keep. If you decide to join the wine club(we are members) and purchase 3 bottles up to two $ 12 tastings will be refunded. It’s a really great deal! And, if you’re «part of the family» you are allowed access to some unique Private Ambassador Tastings upstairs in the Member Lounge and they offer an assortment of free cheeses on event days. Customer service is always wonderful at all of their sites. Live music on select days. Note: If you are part of the wine club, you can opt to pick up your wines at this location and avoid paying S&H(or in F*Burg of course).
