Expensive wouldn’t honor grandpa’s AAA discount because the policy is in my grandma’s name. Run down. Not really breakfast. Dirty and awkward layout to rooms

Not sure why this place has two addresses in Unilocal(other being 209 N Interstate 35…); anyway, the quality of this place met my expectations. When I booked, I realized it was a 1– or 2-star place(non-yelp reviews/ratings). This pretty much is the text-book 2-star motel. Staff was friendly and handled my check-in and check-out efficiently. The room was quiet enough, even though they booked both adjacent rooms as guests arrived. There were plenty of rooms available, one would think they’d space them apart if at all possible. The bed(queen size) was surprisingly comfortable! I usually do not sleep well the first night traveling, but I slept like a baby! Well, a baby that doesn’t wake up in the middle of the night crying, at least. I did not take advantage of the complimentary continental breakfast, so I do not know about that(I rarely eat those anyway). The room was not without technical problems: the TV was plugged into an outlet that was on a 3-position switch with the lights. Turn the lights on at the switch, and the TV is on; off is off. Not very good for a modern electronic television(Vizio 32″ or so?) — that will ultimately cost them in the long run. The bathroom was a bit skeevy, the floor of the tub/shower was a tad slippery/slimey and the exhaust fan in my bathroom did not work — and with the humidity and heat in Georgetown, that’s mold and mildew waiting to happen. The hot water faucet at the sink was a cold water side installed on the hot water side(i.e. you turn both the same way, instead of «out» from the spout like is normal). Again, minor things, but the quality of construction /repairs seemed to be done either by day laborers or «in-house»(not worth docking stars, though). For the price, convenience(for me), and the comfort of the bed and well-working AC unit, it was a decent stay. Would stay here again. «– and that is the best, most useful thing a customer can say about a motel.

It’s an old building located right off the road. The area doesn’t feel very safe at night. Wifi does not work at all. The room is mostly clean, could do better with the odor. Little flying bugs around the sink. You can park right in front outside the room which is very convenient. Breakfast is very simple cereal/muffins/banana. Ok for just staying overnight.

If all you’re after is a good, clean, well-appointed room, this is your spot. The room itself looked as nice as those of more expensive chains. Instead of central air, my room had one of those room units by the door. I was worried it wouldn’t cool the whole room, but it did just fine. Breakfast needs work. No eggs, no bacon or sausage, no waffles. Pretty much fruit, cereal, & breads. If the latter is your thing, tho, you’re in business. Great Greek restaurant right next door.

If I could give less I would. Booked a non smoking king room through Travelocity, which said that each room comes with a coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. Got there and according to the over-worked attendant, the microwave and fridge are ‘on request’. The room could only be accessed through an enclosed hallway that shares space with smoking rooms, so it stank to high heaven and was bad enough to nearly set off my husband’s asthma, which is why we get non smoking rooms to begin with. We immediately booked a room at the EconoLodge 2 miles away and checked right back out.
