It’s well worth a drive to this great little BBQ restaurant, which is several miles west of Georgetown, Delaware, on Route 404. Casual and fun, Fat Daddy’s serves up great food with all the fixings. I have had the barbecue chicken twice now(once with coleslaw and mac salad and once with coleslaw and collard greens) and it didn’t disappoint either time. My husband, who is a BBQ aficionado says this is one of the best places he’s dined at, so far. He has sampled several dishes and during our last visit had a brisket sandwich, fries and coleslaw, which he said was awesome(and looked awesome on the plate!). Prices are good(maybe a little more for us Delaware locals but not by more than a few dollars, depending on what you order). We noticed a steady stream of customers on a Sunday afternoon — locals and tourists. Some were dining in and others were ordering carryout. Service is very friendly and fast.

My original review: I would give 6 stars if I could! Best barbecue I’ve ever had, like being in the south. The brisket is superb, as are the ribs. But the real stars are the sides. At most barbecue places the sides are«throw-aways,» but here they really stand out on their own. The beans are from heaven! Smoky, sweet, spicy, meaty all at the same time. Mac and cheese, potato salad, and cole slaw are all excellent too. The wait time for takeout was minimal. I was surprised because they were so busy, with people waiting to be seated. Be sure to order barbecue sauce with takeout, as they don’t provide any. 6÷5÷16: A shame that you felt compelled to spend the money to put up that horrible sign about the restrooms. You definitely won’t have my business anymore. And I’ve spent hundreds of dollars there.

Excellent food, friendly service. My husband and I stopped here while traveling. We could have not have been happier with the quaint, casual atmosphere. The pulled pork, baked beans, and potato salad were spot on. The wait staff made you feel like you were a local and treated you like friends. I would highly recommend stopping here next time you are in the area.

We get Fat Daddys at least once a week for carry out. ALWAYS delicious! My favorite is the pulled pork with fries and my fiancé says the brisket is the best he has ever had. If getting take out make sure to also order a side of BBQ sauce(we each get one) as none come with the meals. The owners are always very friendly and make you feel like you know them.

We always pass by this place on the way to the shore(not the beach!!). First off the owner actually comes and talks to you and recognizes you are new. The food was fantastic! Brisket wonderful, my husband said the pulled pork was amazing! Definitely will stop here on our next trip down. Side were great — best baked beans we ever had and great coleslaw. Apparently the corn bread variety is very good but we’ll save that for the next trip. Stop, you won’t be disappointed :)

All the way from Brooklyn, NY to Try Fat Daddy’s BBQ based on recently seeing this fabulous food joint on … Excellent food and great Owner! We had rib platter, brisket and the pulled pork and chicken tenders! Sides of collard greens, hand cut fries and potato salad. We had no room for dessert! Will definitely be back!

Wow. This place is legit BBQ. Had the pulled pork sandwich. A little bit spicy, but brings some really nice heat when you add on the ‘hot’ BBQ sauce. The non-hot sauce is equally delicious. Mac and cheese side was very nice — creamy, but not too thick. Definitely NOT box stuff! And the bonus? Lemonade that isn’t sickly sweet; in fact, if was pretty close to perfect. Definitely going to be stopping by next time I’m over here!

Best BBQ in the area. Pulled pork… hmmm. Brisket… hmmm. Just got to put up with the local flavor: indigenous flies. Well worth the trip.

As a local, I love going to this place. The food is amazing! Best boardwalk fries ever! Brisket is un-believable. It’s cozy and always decorated to match the holiday or occasion of the month. The very best part is that the owner is always walking around, interacting with the patrons, delivering food or getting drink refills. He’s a real character and makes you feel welcome and appreciated every time. DON’T MISSTHISPLACE!

Rustic atmosphere. Walked in and was greeted by someone sitting at the counter. Asked him how the plate of ribs in front of him was and he responded«Great!» Think he may have been the owner because he came by later to check on how our meal was, also cleared the dishes later. Food came out about three minutes after we ordered it. Food is great, had the pulled pork and potato salad. Portions were just right for us. You can also catch a brew here which suited me just fine. Pay attention to where you are on the road here because you could drive right past, it’s in the middle of no where!

All righty folks sadly to say the food here was a bust. I paid over $ 20 for a so called slab of ribs and they must have forgotten the other half. Even worse then the short amount of ribs was the baked beans. Can’t say to much about the place except disappointment when it came to the food. The ladies working there however where very nice.

This place has the best brisket, smoke flavored ribs and chicken wings! The applesauce is a complete surprise and a delightful treat! Great loaded fries, wonderful coleslaw and hot wings!

We always stop here on the way to the beach. Incredible BBQ, especially the brisket which is the best beef brisket I’ve ever had. The baked beans are full of flavor too. If you have room try a cornpone, a richer cornbread like dish.

Randomly stumbled upon this great BBQ place on the way out of Ocean City. It is on the side of the road but we saw the reviews on it and decided to give it a go anyways. Let me just say that everyone was so glad we did stop by and I think everyone has to stop here. The prices are really inexpensive too. Our waitress was extremely attentive and sweet. I got the beef brisket platter with a side of green beans(attempt to be healthy after almost a week at the beach) and potato salad. The beef brisket was so amazing, it was soft and flavorful. The potato salad was also really delicious but I could’ve done without the green beans. they were a little too soft for my liking. I also got a bite of my friends’ pulled pork and that was really good too as well as the mac n cheese. There was an extra basket of fries that they had given us — on the house. This place is a must try!

Stopped by here on the way home from the beach just to try it out. I purchased the pull pork platter with baked beans and Mac and cheese. It was great! The food was sort of spicy, mainly the pork. But the food was very moist and tender! I will definitely come back!

What a find! We ended up here 2 days in a row, while the boys played baseball at Sports at the Beach. Highly recommend pulled pork. It has some«pop». If you like spice, you’ll love it. The ribs and wings also got rave reviews from the boys. Take a small group or the whole team. Super, friendly service. Can’t wait to visit when we’re back in the area. BTW… Fat Daddy’s is «just past» a well marked veggie stand. Approx 15 minutes from SATB.

I’ve eaten at a lot of BBQ places around the country the past few years and Fat Daddy’s is as good as any of them. I had the pulled pork and brisket combo with cole slaw and baked beans as my sides. Everything was fantastic. They make a Carolina style pork which I don’t typically care for but theirs was delicious. The brisket was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The baked beans were almost indescribably good. Fat Daddy’s is a place you’d probably drive by numerous times before noticing. However, you need to be on the lookout for them and stop here the next time you are driving on 404 outside Bridgeville, DE.

3.5 stars… Fat Daddy’s is a great BBQ spot located off the beaten path in rural Delaware. They feature a long bar, a side dining area, and an outdoor patio with picnic tables in sand. Prices are very good, among the best I’ve ever paid for BBQ, almost everything is under $ 18, most meals are $ 9 – 14. I was able to get ½ rack of ribs, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and beans for $ 18. Beers start at $ 3.50, again a great deal. Service was very slow but once the place started emptying out the service was more attentive and friendly so maybe they were just stressed with a rush of customers. I thought the pulled pork was excellent. They put more indredients in their pulled pork than I’ve experienced before which added to the complexity of the flavor and they don’t top it with thick sauce so you can really taste the meat. The beans were very unique and had great flavor to them as well. The mac and cheese was rather average but not bad. The ribs were a tad thin meat wise and was more tough then I’ve had in a while. It wasn’t bad but not something I would recommend ordering here. My girlfriend got the Cuban and was very happy with it. Overall I was satisfied with my meal but I’ve definitely had much better BBQ before and was a little suprised at their 5 star rating.
