We needed major roof reconstruction work and had DeGeorge as the general contractor starting in April. After many delays, at the beginning of July, he finally said he couldn’t get anyone to do the work and suggested we look for another contractor. By this point of course, most contractors were fully booked for the summer work season so we were in a real mess.
Anyone thinking about using DeGeorge needs to keep in mind that he doesn’t seem to actually have any workmen of his own, at least for major work, he subcontracts out to other contractors, and if they are busy, you are out of luck! This was not at all clear to us when we started.
I’d suggest working with a contractor who actually has a crew that can do the work.
