For the size of Georgetown and for what choices we have, I do like Dr. Berg. I do not agree with the comments that he spent less than 15 minutes with patients as that is not true. I would be gone if this was the case. He can pretty much nail it with what I am sick with and if tests are needed, he pretty much can tell what I have in that regard too. There are other choices in Georgetown but I prefer not to wait over 30 minutes for my appointment, have my billing incorrect and of course, the doctor not spend but less than five minutes with me. Therefore, I will stick with Berg. My recommendations to you if you are looking for someone that knows his job and is not apart of the 15 minutes with each patient.

Dr. Berg is fine. Personable and competent. The Scott & White system of appointments, prescription refills and support is hideous. Torturous phone trees instead of helpful people. Painfully long waits in the lobby and patient room. Arcane billing. The entire experience reminds me that I am a merely a voiceless customer for which they optimize the doctor and health system’s time and profits. My most recent experience was that they required an office visit for me to obtain a prescription refill. After an hour wait, the doctor spend 3 minutes with me, and they handed me my prescription. I think that was about $ 300/minute for the doctor and Scott & White and a hour I could have spent doing something else. It was completely unnecessary. When my prescription needed another refill this week and I was told I’d have to come in for an office visit, I found another doctor that’s not in the Scott & White system.

Saw Dr. Berg for the first time today. He was personable, listened and answered all my questions. I didn’t feel rushed and was comfortable speaking with him. He met my expectations, enough said.

This was my first time visiting Dr. Berg. Bray wasn’t available. Next time I will wait until he is. I waited over 45 minutes. He was in the room less than 10 minutes with me. He suggested a disease that could be the culprit, but I’ve never heard of it. He wrote it on a business card and told me to look it up on WebMD — he didn’t have time to explain it to me. So off I went with a ton of fear, questions, a business card with a possible diagnosis, and a scrip for antibiotics. NEVER again.

Dr Berg is one of those rare CARING doctors who gets to know his patients and takes the time to figure out what’s wrong. He doesn’t just scoot in the exam room for less than 5 minutes to get his payment from the insurance company, throwing a guess of a prescription your way. Dr. Berg is a straight-talkin’ Texan.

Dr Berg has been my GP for 3 years now. He’s great — friendly, professional, and honest. He’s made excellent referrals to other health professionals when I needed them. The desk staff and the nurses are great too. No complaints! Oh, except the lady that works in Billing. She’s always kinda grumpy. I guess I would be too if I had her job.
