Stayed the weekend of June 19th-21st with family.(3 Adult Couples) The first thing that impresses you about the William Smith Inn is the wrap around driveway giving way to the beautiful well maintained grounds. Tip: Tree & gardening enthusiasts will enjoy taking a walk around the property Enter the house by way of a beautiful wraparound porch where we spent every evening relaxing, snacking and finishing our Finger Lake wines. Theresa & David, the Inn Keepers, were great hosts. Theresa was welcoming, accommodating and so much fun. They have both done a wonderful job restoring & decorating this once«Church Home» that housed local retirees. William Smith the original owner would be proud of their work. We shared the William Smith Suite with my in-laws. The rooms were spacious and clean and well decorated. The shared bathroom was a bit unusual. It was not a «jack & jill» style as we had assumed. Instead we had to go through the other bedroom to enter. The beds were decent and provided a nice rest. Now onto the second«B» in Bed & Breakfast, Breakfast! Note: Hot breakfast is only served on the weekends, during the week it’s Continental. Now, onto the highlights. The coffee was excellent. Ask Theresa for her secret ingredient. Each morning began with fresh fruit cup and juice. Saturday’s entrée was a choice of 2 quiches with Canadian Bacon & Sunday’s offering was stuff French Toast & sausage. Both meals were delicious and filling. Oh, and be sure to save a few scraps for the William Smith Inn’s mascot, Seneca. He is the most well behaved mild mannered dog we’ve ever encountered. If you’re not a fan of dogs not to worry, Seneca listens well and Theresa is quick to whisk him out to make guests feel comfortable if need be. Our group’s only regret was that we missed out on taking a tour of the Observatory on the property. The property is a located about a mile or so from downtown so you’ll need to drive or take a lengthy walk to get to any of the restaurants. Keep in mind the walk back is up hill at points. Other Useful Info 1.) There is a full size fridge in the kitchen for guest use, great place to chill the wines you purchased after your tasting tours. 2.) Be prepared to climb some steps to your rooms if you are on the 2nd floor. There is an old service elevator but I am unsure of its status 3.) Ask for an observatory tour. 4.) Enjoy the front porch in the morning & evening Thank you Theresa and David for a wonderful weekend. Best of luck with the Inn. Cheers!

Beautiful historic inn, Theresa was delightful. Staying there is like catching up with an old friend. The rooms are charming, street is quiet and the porch was so relaxing! Very clean rooms, plenty of amenities!

Making a reservation with Theresa was painless and easy. She was very efficient in responding to all my questions and emails, and setting up all of the information was a breeze. She is extremely sweet and nice, and I was pleasantly surprised in how comfortable I was in talking to her over the phone while we made final confirmations. When we arrived, she was extremely welcoming and sooo sweet — it literally seemed as if we were staying at a friend’s house. We were in town for a wedding as well as to celebrate our anniversary for the weekend and booked the Statesmen. My favorite part of this room was the claw foot tub(love those things!) and the spacious shower. My husband and I were happy that there was Direct TV so we can lounge and catch up on all the crazy trashy shows: P I loved that they had Rosemary Mint Aveda products — it smelled quite soothing and nice. We were able to go in and out freely, and the inn was quite peaceful and quiet, even with the other guests present. Breakfast was every morning at 8:30 in the main dining room. The first morning, we started off with a fresh cup of blueberries with cream — it was fresh and a great precursor to the Vidalia Onion quiche and a Tomato Basil Feta quiche that came next — they were both quite delicious! Each came with a side of Canadian ham slices — yum. We had fresh coffee, tea, as well as some local Red Jacket juices. The next morning, we had a cup of fresh fruit slices, a nice thick french toast with syrup, and a side of Wegman’s chicken sausages(I was surprised in how good they were!) — everything was seasoned well, was tasty, and healthy. My most favorite part of our stay was Seneca, the beautiful oh-so-adorable dog — he was so precious, walking around during breakfast, and loved being petted. I so badly wanted to take him home with us! The inn is nestled in this nice residential area, a peaceful location off of Castle. Everything was a few minutes drive, and getting around was convenient. The grounds were well-kept and they had a beautiful porch. Theresa made sure that our stay was comfortable, relaxing, and gave us enough information of the area as well as the history of the inn without being too overbearing. If you’re looking for an inn that has a lot of character, history, servings of great homemade breakfasts, and an innkeeper that is oh-so-awesome, the William Smith Inn is a definite must for anyone who’s visiting the town of Geneva or want a nice peaceful getaway for the weekend. +ask for Ms. Theresa: D +Rosemary Mint Aveda products +Seneca, the beautiful pooch: D
