Came here for dinner while staying at the Ramada Geneva Lakefront — this is a great spot! Food was great, staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, and drinks were solid. I shared the smelts appetizer and duck wings, and then had the cod po boy as an entrée. +1 on the duck wings — fantastic. Possibly the best fries I have ever had. Plus wine on tap! I would be a regular if I lived in the area. Definitely recommend this spot!
Great place to go after wine tasting. Friendly wait staff. Classic pub fare menu with a creative twist. Really good burgers and seasonal small plate specials. It was my first visit and I wanted to try a variety of dishes. I started out with 5 varieties of oysters and they were freshly shucked and so delicious. But the mignonette sauce could have been better/more freshly prepared. I also had the skinny fries and they were good but slightly greasy. I loved the local asparagus dish with a creamy polenta topped with sautéed greens and local cheese. My main course was the linguini with bacon, sautéed greens and porcini mushrooms but the bacon grease overpowered the pasta and other flavors. The elk burger and beef burgers were excellent. I highly recommend the kiwi cheesecake as a great finish. Had it not been for the greasy linguini I’d give it 4 stars.

In town with my family for two days and found the Red Dove tavern on Unilocal for dinner! We were impressed with the local ingredients on the menu, also ingredients we haven’t seen around too often-fiddleheads, dandelion greens, ramps. We had the whole trout, duck breast, portobello sandwich and the bok choy soup, all pretty well prepared. Atmosphere was standard for a tavern but space a little cramped. There were little floaty things in my ice water!

Visited on Saturday May 7, 2016 around 5:00PM before going to a concert at the Smith Opera House. It was easy to get a table for two at that hour, but the place filled up quickly by 6:00PM. Noise level was nice and LOW, very unusual for restaurants these days. We were able to converse easily. Our waitress was delightful, and the main courses reflected the focus on seasonal & local fare. Everything was prepared beautifully. For the quality level we experienced here, we probably would’ve paid 20% to 50% more at a snobby, trendy place in Rochester. This venue felt like a bargain. Whoever complained about the wine selection must’ve been blind or in a bad mood. The selection is terrific. I’ll come back here any time I’m in Geneva. I called ahead for reservations and was told they only do that for parties of 6 or more. Keep that in mind. If you’re going to an 8:00PM concert down the street, I don’t think I’d show up here at 6:45PM, at least not on a weekend. That might be cutting it close.

This is one of the best places to get a delicious meal in the Geneva area. This tavern is the kind of place that you can show up in nicer attire, or jeans and an old t-shirt and you will fit right in. The tavern is dark on the inside, unless you are seated near the windows. One of the touches that I appreciate at the bar, were the stylish lights that you could pull closer to your menu to see it better. The bar features several local beers, and some that are from just the state in general. I was pleased to see that Swiftwater was features on tap. They serve a ‘skinny pint’ which is probably 12 oz, for $ 4, a regular pint for $ 5, and then pitchers for varied prices. They offer growler fills too. The bar had a few ciders on tap for the aficionados, or gluten-free friends. Something that I appreciated was that they use Red Jacket Juices for their cocktail mixers. They also obviously have a selection of wines from the area. I am all for supporting local products. They clearly care about that too, because there was a sign in the bathroom giving stats on keeping consumerism in the local economy to help Geneva thrive. The menu layout was neat, because there was a ‘simple’ side, with small plates and sandwiches, and then the back with their specials had more refined entrees with higher quality ingredients. I ordered the flank steak sandwich with brie and onions, and it came with very thin fries. I personally think that the fries were a little too thin for my preferences, but they were decent with seasoning. Michael ordered the kielbasa with mustard cheddar grits and asparagus. With two entrees, and extra side of fries, and 3 drinks, our bill was about $ 50. I would recommend this place for anyone passing through.

Perfect little bistro with frequent surprises popping up on their menu. Hangout of lots of the wine makers. Always meet someone interesting at the bar. Korean wings are so good you have to go to confession afterwards. Nice hummus too. Good beer selection. Pleasant place with nice owners. You often find them eating their own food at the bar. A good sign.

Cozy and quiet atmosphere. Really enjoyed the ambience. We did not eat here, although the menu looked great, we only enjoyed drinks. I had the Prickly Pear Margarita and it was awesome!

Only been here for drinks, but their menu looks very appetizing. Their beers rotate frequently and I suggest trying a beer flight. Almost only local(ish) and craft beers here. The first few times we went here(back about 5 years ago) this place was mostly for drinks and happened to serve some expensive dishes for food. Now this place gets a lot more dinner business — food is still more expensive than the other surrounding pubs, but the menu options are a lot more upscale.

Went for food and drinks on a Saturday night. It was busy and it took a little time to get some of our food, but luckily we ordered a bunch of small plates so we didn’t mind the wait. Also, our server checked in with us and offered excellent service. The shrimp pil pil was my favorite. Calamari and oysters were also on point. They offered a great wine list that included local options. Will definitely go back again the next time I’m in the area.

I liked this place. The high top seats were a little uncomfortable. They have some very creative entrees. Be adventurous, and try them!

This is my favorite restaurant in Geneva! It’s outstanding. Been there many times and it never disappoints. Even the dessert menu is fantastic. If they would just fix the noise issue it would be perfect!

Love it here! The Red Dove is a gem in Geneva. They consistently provide a thoughtful menu full of unique«standard» dishes, as well as rotating specials. Their attention to detail is felt down to the seasonality, use of local ingredients, interesting craft beer selections and local wine offerings. The staff is attentive and our waitress was knowledgeable on both the beer and food side of things. Each time I’ve tried something new, the most recently a perfectly cooked steak and have not been disappointed. I would recommend checking out The Red Dove!

We stopped in on a Saturday night and apparently that was just not a good idea. They were out of almost every ingredient to make any drink we requested from their menu and I found my «Bacon Tomato Jam Burger» to be a burger patty(tasty) with crushed tomatoes(not tasty) on it, not a single piece of bacon to be found. It was also served on the LARGEST bun I have seen for a standard burger. The tempura Asparagus was great, but it was served with a very cheap cup of plain soy sauce which sort of ruined it for me. The«grilled feta» appetizer was the highlight of my meal despite it not being grilled at all… My friends enjoyed their meals more, but none of us were in love with out dinner there. It was disappointing because we really wanted to love it! The menu sounded delicious, the beer, cocktail, and wine menu had great variety, the atmosphere(despite the sticky surface tables) and staff very chill and nice, but it just was a lack luster experience. I intended to give this place a second chance and hopefully next time they will have their bar fully staffed and will have learned what ‘bacon tomato jam’ actually is.

This place was recommended to us by a lovely Hobart and William Smith college student who works at Anthony Road Wine!(If she ever reads this, thanks so much!) It wasn’t crowded at all as we came between lunch and dinner time. The duck wings we ordered were fantastic, it’s like a coconut curry they use to marinate the wings and each order comes with 6. I think it’s worthwhile to try, it’s a very unique pairing and… really good, there’s a little kick when you eat it and it kind of hits you in all the right places. I went with my boyfriend and we ordered the gyro and the flank steak sandwich as our entrees. Both were really great, the steak was so tender I really enjoyed it with the side of shoe string fries! This was more than enough for both of us! Service was good and it was just what we needed after a day of touring wineries/vineyards along Seneca!

Another great meal last night at the dove! Best local spot in Geneva ny! The food is fresh and the highest of qualities. Had a table of four there last night… Each one of us indulging in there flank steak sandwich with marinated flank stake cooked up to your favorite temp and sliced thin, and then topped with melted Brie and sautéed onions … And paired with a huge heep of fresh cut shoe string fries… This is the best sandwich in Geneva! We also started our meal off with their calamari appetizer. Fried golden brown, and paired with a spicy dipping sauce. Just a nice local place.

It was alright. Nothing fancy. Typical hipster joint. Craft and local beers. No other choices for those that do not drink craft beers. Food wasn’t that great. Clearly everything is frozen and cooked to order. Overly seasoned hamburger. Really spicy. I thought I ordered a normal burger, but I think the cook went crazy with the spices. Was charged extra for mustard.(Burgers and mustard go together like peanut butter and jelly.) Poor lighting couldn’t see shit. Fake tin ceiling that’s is suppose to look old? Service as ok? Nothing great. No place to hang your coat or jacket like a gentlemen. Bathrooms are small and a bit on the dirty side. 3 stars is a fair rating for this place.

Finally made it to Red Dove after having worked in Geneva for over a year. The place was smaller than I expected and bustling on a Tuesday at 6pm which is always a good sign. My flank steak sandwich tasted great and was served on soft warm artisan type roll; shoestring fries while not my favorite(I tend to like a thicker fry) were ok. The bacon jam burger at our table, while I didn’t taste it, was highly complimented. Our waitress gave great drink and appetizer recommendations and had a cheerful personality. As far as value is concerned, Red Dove does not impress. Everything is just a little too overpriced. The shrimp pil pil was way too salty and spicy and not worth the $ 12; wont be getting it again. In fact most of the dishes cost a buck or 2 more than they should. Service was somewhat slow but I could tell the 2 waitresses were trying their best given how busy it was. I did like the casual atmosphere and got a good vibe from it overall. Would definitely recommend you stop by if youre in the area
