Not a bad family biz. Enjoyed the toasted ravioli, and the thin crust pizza was good, but not great. Too much grease. Service was excellent. Our server, Allie was warm and friendly. The outdoor music was extremely loud, so will only go back on nites without live music.

The food was great. Had the black and blue burger, cooked perfectly. Wine and then Angry Orchard. Both drinks were good. My sister had ordered the pot roast nachos, to which our waiter said«great choice» however we never got our nachos, nor were we charged for them. We thought, wasn’t meant to be. She ordered the Garbage salad and was excited about the hearts of palm, yet there weren’t any. The salad was still scrumptious. And yet our server didn’t know the soup of the day, nor the price of Vodka. He forgot the box, we had to ask 2 times. Also, our check was forgotten, and we had to ask the bar back for our server. He never filled out waters either. The food was good, the service dismal. We liked the band too! And the place was really cute and clean. The service makes us think twice about returning.

This place reminded us of eating in a friends basement. We started off with the cheese curds which were good then I had the best French onion soup I have ever had. The jambalaya was the main course. It was delicious. My wife and I will definitely return.

If I could give this place no stars I would. The staff here is very unknowledgeable and their restaurant. I called two different times in two different weeks to ask about Mother’s Day reservation the hostess told me two different times WEDONTTAKERESERVATIONSBUTYOUWONTNEEDTHEM with plans to enjoy a nice Mother’s Day dinner THEYFAILEDTOTELLUSTHEYWEREGOINGTOBECLOSED!!!’ with this place messing up the plans we had to search for others options and its was a challenge with it being Mother’s Day and busy. If this place staff can’t communicate well with their customers I can only imagine what their service and food is like I will never go back here this place was better when it was the grotto

We have now been twice. Once in the patio and once inside. Service has been fine. Location is great. Décor is fine. Atmosphere is about what you’d expect for a sports bar. The real problem is the food. It seems like the type of place that would be on Restaurant Impossible. It has potential but the food is just not worth coming for. The pizza cheese is poor. The chop salad dressing is just not really seasoned. The rest of the food was simply not good. I want to like this place but it is just lacking.

I can’t recommend this place unless all you’re looking for is a beer, for which they have plenty of options. As for food, what can I say? The waitress projected a completely disinterested attitude. My daughter ordered a soda that tastes nothing like it should have. My wife and I both ordered burgers«medium well». Hers came out well done and my medium rare. Not sure how that happened. At least she removed the horrid drink from the check.

Ordered the pot roast nachos. Cheese wasn’t melted, pot roast was room temperature. Underneath the top layer were a bunch of dry tortilla chips. I say dry because I’ve had real nachos before and they have cheese on every layer. My wife and I thought we’d give the meatloaf sandwich a chance. BADIDEA. It was like biting into a stiff sponge. No flavor and it smelled terrible. The best part about our experience? Leaving. Well, the televisions are nice but I have a nice one at home I can watch. We’ll never ever be back. The fries are some of the best I have had in Chicago. We were recommended the pizza from a local genevan and my wife loved the cheese pizza(Friday during lent).

Not sure what some of the other people were reviewing. This place is truly unbelievable. We went for lunch on Sunday at about 1230 the weekend before Christmas. We made the mistake of ordering the pot roast nachos. I say mistake, because these could probably feed two for lunch quite nicely. And considering the size, the price is very reasonable. The chips in the nachos are made in house and nice and crisp(see pics.). The pot roast used, is tender and flavorful and the cheese is fantastic. We should also comment on the service. Matt was our server and was at our table within 5 minutes, and drinks on table within 10. He was very helpful, and answered all our questions as well as being attentive to drink refills and anything else we needed during our meal. For our meal, I ordered the jambalaya and my wife the Italian beef. She ordered hers dry, which at some restaurants can be short of a crap shoot. In this case however the meat was done almost perfectly and the meat juices still intact. She rated her sandwich very high, which for her is really saying something. I can honestly say, the jambalaya is probably the only authentic jambalaya I have had in the area. I spend a lot of time down south and have had opportunities to try some that are considered the best and this holds its own. The shrimp are quite large and the sausage seasoned perfectly. Portion size is on large size, so if you try one of the appetizers, prepare to take home a doggie bag. If I had any criticism, it would be the same for some others in the area: COKEPRODUCTSAREYOURFRIEND! No, Pepsi is not the same. I really understand everyone’s experience is different, but can’t imagine anyone giving this less than a 4, much less lower than a 3. We will be back and bringing friends and family.

Gross! In a party of seven, no one had good food! I was told by the waitress that the Mediterranean chicken was a popular dish… ewww!!! And we calamari and it was chewy and knotted together! Everything was undercooked and overrated!

I really wanted to love this new restaurant. We loved the former restaurant-it was one of our«go to» spots. I had to send my food back-terrible! And then ordered a salad. It was just a bowl full of Spinach with nuts and apple bits on top. At that point I thought«Seriously-is the best you can do?!» Maybe this place should be a burger joint and nothing more. Sorry we won’t be back. felt as if no one cared we stopped in!

Went here on a whim for some pre-dinner drinks with my wife. The bar was surprisingly nice, more than expected, as we had not been to many places in Geneva yet. The bar tender was attentive and quick to get our drinks. My wife has an aversion to over pouring on mixed drinks, but here they were right in line with what she likes. As for the ambiance, it was a nice place to be, and we will definitely come back. Another reason for our return in the future is the food smelled and looked good, and the menu we browsed showed that it was reasonably priced fare too. We will be coming back to try the food, and I’ll definitely update my review.

Our 1st time at Rascals was the evening of 7÷11÷15. Food was fabulous! They even made an extra special effort to make sure our daughter liked her homemade mac and cheese. Our server Elson was awesome, friendly and accommodating :-) Our 2nd time at Rascals was last night 10÷15÷15. Ironically we were seated in the same booth :-) My husband and I both had the Reenies… FABULOUS with a nice kick! ;-) And naturally our little one enjoyed her Mac and Cheese. I don’t know what they do but they have some of the best burgers! :-) We will be back again soon!

I’ve reviewed Rascal’s previously but I am reviewing again after a much different experience. Yesterday my husband and I and our 12 year old dog Sofie went to Rascal’s for Sofie’s «last dinner.» She was going to be crossing over the Rainbow Bridge later. Geneva is dog-friendly but Geneva has been more vigilant in enforcing no dogs on outside patios at restaurants lately. Rascal’s made an exception for us yesterday because of the circumstances. Sofie sat in her stroller on the patio and ate ½ a cheeseburger, fries, hush puppies, pretzels with cheese and they even brought her some ice cream. Everything was delicious, the service and compassionate caring for our situation was outstanding and I take back my unfavorable previous comment. Rascal’s has my vote now for the compassion they showed us as we spoiled our girl one last time. Thank you Rascals! We will be back.

Not sure how or why they thought a three man band that sing grossly off key would be a good fit for a dining experience on a beautiful Saturday evening… Food as bad as the music and now we have terrible headaches. Thankfully the band at the corner by the wine shop made up for the disaster at Rascals.

This is the first time we tried this place. Being a new place we did not know what to expect. There are many different Taverns in downtown Geneva so we were curious how they were going to distinguish themselves from the others. First of all the service was great. When our server was busy others came around to refill our drinks and to see if we needed anything. The manager also stopped by to make sure everything was good. I found the menu to have a good variety of not only basic pub food but other foods like pasta, Salmon and even Jambalaya. There was so much to try from but I was in the mood for a good burger and they did not disappoint. It was done perfectly, juicy and tasted great! We also sampled some starters which were great. I am not big on Cheese Curds but these were the best I’ve had. The kicker was my little girl(10yrs) loved the place! She loved everything she tried and said this place is AWESOME! She has now found a new favorite eating spot. I would highly recommend this place. It is definitely worth trying out.

If I could of given no stars I would have. This is the same bad food from the grotto. All they did was put up some tv’ sand and take down some pictures. Some one mentioned new owners/management. It’s still the same family. Disgusting. What a shame it is a great location too bad some one who cares about quality of food didn’t take over location. Waste of time and money.

Mixed feelings on Rascals. I’m surprised people are complaining about the service. The staff was nice and accommodating. The restaurant was modern, put together, and clean. It’s the food that the restaurant needs to work on considering the pricing. Rascals is trying to do too much. You can’t be a great sandwich, burger, pasta, pizza, salad, dinner, and bar food /restaurant. To be frank, my BLT wasn’t that good. It just wasn’t and looks were deceiving. The bacon was greasy and not cooked as much as I would have hoped. My fries on the side were good, but perhaps overcooked a bit. The french fries left a crisp taste in my mouth which again was strange. French fries don’t usually leave an aftertaste. The standard burger, for $ 11, is almost McDonalds level in terms of toppings(barebones). I’m sure it tasted better than McDonalds, but not worth the premium. It’s worth giving Rascals a shot if you haven’t visited before. I’m assuming they’re reading these reviews and genuinely trying to improve. They’re new, and I hope to upgrade this review in the future, but as of now don’t expect much. I’ve included photos of the menu, food, and interior.
