Excellent food. Our party had lasagna, pear and blue cheese pizza and a gluten free Pizza. All were wonderful. Highly recommend all of them. Service is a bit slow bit worth the wait.

I took my sister to Halsey’s for her birthday. The restaurant is clean and attractive — a cut above most local venues in the classiness of its decorating. Our server was friendly and welcoming, but service itself(whether due to his speed or the kitchen’s, I’m not sure — the restaurant was barely half full) was extremely sluggish. We had a couple of delicious seasonal salads, followed by a fresh-cooked artisan pizza that, unfortunately, was so thoroughly charred on the bottom that there was a bitter burned-dough aftertaste with every bite, and our teeth and lips were covered with little specks of black. Dessert and coffee followed, including a crème brûlée that was to die for — but which took an abominably long time to reach to the table, as did our [quite hefty] check. I think perhaps the pizza was an aberration and I’d be glad to give Halsey’s another chance for a special occasion, with hopefully more prompt service.

It’s ok. The food is a bit pricey for what you get, I think. You’ll see what I mean when you look at the menu. It’s good but everything is about 25% high. $ 26 for pasta with mushroom cream sauce. Again, it was good but $ 26. $ 8 for soup in a shallow bowl. Anybody who has worked in a restaurant knows that you’re getting the same portion as a cup — only more expensive. They don’t offer the option to buy a cup. It’s a small example. The menu just seems a big price gaugey on about half of the dishes. Great service.

My boyfriend and I were able to get some last minute seats here after our reservation at Edgar’s was unable to be fulfilled. We called ahead to have our names added to the list and by the time we got there we only had to wait 15 minutes. We started off with a custom pizza, pretty fantastic. The pizza crust was nice and chewy and the size was perfect to share. I really, really wanted pasta because ALL of their pastas sounded so amazing, but I had been eating all day and opted for a simply salad. My boyfriend got the small plate which consisted of beef tips? Not sure, over mashed potatoes with gravy, he loved it. We couldn’t possibly eat dessert but we did look at the menu and everything sounded over-the-top delicious. There was an awkward moment when we tried to order their house special pizza and the waitress came back and told us they’re out of the house special pizza. When I asked if they were out of all the ingredients that goes into the pizza she said they’re out of the caramelized onions, we wanted the onions left out anyways, and that they didn’t have any slices of prosciutto left and they were too short-handed to slice anymore… poor excuses but we let it go and asked for capicola instead. I also overheard her tell the table behind me that they couldn’t order… it was either the vegetable lasagna or the veggie burger, because they were out of veggies. I mean, there’s no way you’re out of «veggies», I got a salad with veggies in it… the waitress just didn’t offer any substitutions which she should have because if you’re out of certain things she should be suggesting other variations. Also our pizza appetizer came after our entrees which is a big pet peeve of mine. Aside from the small things mentioned above, I’d probably come back if I was in Geneva again.

Awesome food. Try meatballs they r out of the world. Pizza was also great with real good toppings. I will recommend this place strongly.

This was our first time. Two couples from out of town who have extensive food experiences. As the rating indicates it was an outstanding experience probably a 4.5 but rounded up because we all left very pleased. The décor, the service and the food was top notch and unexpected given the mediocre overall Unilocal rating. I need to specify that we decided to order only small plates since the selection looked so interesting. Everything was very good and some dishes were outstanding in our opinion. The scallops were outstanding, tasty and perfectly cooked. The meat balls were very tasty and a large portion. The calamari was good, the fried sting beans very tasty. The crab cakes were the least interesting, however they were very acceptable. Additionally the bread with olive oil, balsamic, red peppers and garlic were excellent. The cookies and brownies for dessert were very good.

On Thursday, 8÷27÷2015, I had dinner at Halsey’s Restaurant. The food and service was good, even though it was busy that night. The menu had different choices of food, from appetizers to salads, to entrees. Too bad there is not a Halsey’s in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Being of Vietnamese descent, I’ve had my fair share of pork belly in my life. When I saw Halsey’s rendition on the menu I knew I had to give it a try. The entrée comes with three sliders with 2 – 3 slices of pork belly per sandwich. I went in for my first bite and was highly disappointed. I understand pork belly is a fatty cut of meat, but the fat to meat ratio was about 95 to 5. Not to mention, the pork belly itself was extremely salty. The buns were also soft and coupled with the extreme fat on the belly the entire mouth-feel was mushy and unappetizing. The only things I fully ate on the plate were the side of chips and pickled vegetables. However, it wasn’t all bad. The complimentary bread with the dipping oil is wonderful and the calamari appetizer with its slightly spicy sauce was fried to perfection. But with the high prices, I’m not sure if I’ll be coming back.

Pretty good cocktails. Had a nice list, not executed as great as the descriptions were but then again we are in Geneva. Pizza was excellent. We had the pollo which was a spicy siracha sauce w chicken and artichokes. The pasta fungi was severely disappoitning. They advertise black truffle and truffle oil. It was very bland, covered w regular mushrooms but did not see black truffles nor did I have much taste. Could have used salt pepper garlic and everything else. It came out 5 – 8 minutes after we ordered so that set alarm bells off too. They must have a tub of pasta and throw the sauce on for orders. It wasn’t hot. Pizza came out super fast too which also perplexed us but atleast that I enjoyed. Fresh baked cookie ala mode was delicious. It’s good for what it is, I’d come back and stick w the pizza next time.

The atmosphere is really cool and the staff are incredibly kind. Overall the meal and experience was good but feel like the dishes felll a bit short. It’s obvious they use topshelf products but just don’t match the finish of the dish to the materials used. For instance, my steak was buried in the rub and cheese crumbles instead of using it as an accent to a really good piece of meet; the plate was covered in a wine glaze instead of drizzling it across the meat and sides. Again, good experience, just missed the mark a bit.

The food and service was excellent. Being from NYC area I was hesitant to order pizza, but the house special pizza was out of this world. Highly recommended.

Good service, good food, very nice ambiance. Halsey’s is all around very nice. But dear god do they make you pay for it. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind expensive dinners when I’m getting what I pay for. But this is just extortion. Halsey’s knows their the only classy place in Geneva, and they’re going to milk that for every dollar. It really sours me on the place.

We dined here for dinner over the weekend. Service was great and she had great suggestions re: where to go after dinner, which bars were more college bars, etc. ambiance: Very cute restaurant. We sat on the second floor. It’s an intimate venue, with enough room to enjoy your space from fellow diners. Drinks: Moscow mule was decent– the ginger to vodka ratio needed some work. Smoked honey bourbon sour was amazing. We tried the fig one too but went back to this one. By far the best item we had. Food: The olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic and red pepper flakes dipping sauce was amazing. Seriously– the balsamic vinegar was so good, but apparently the waitress said its just regular old balsamic. We got the meatball app– not booming with flavor. The Gouda and pork belly Mac and cheese was good but also surprisingly not flavorful. We got the house wood fire pizza with prosciutto, no blue cheese. It was good, but again– no flavors stick out. We got the espresso cheesecake– crust wasn’t great but cheesecake was creamy and not overpowering with the espresso. All in all, we had a decent meal but it’s not a place we can’t wait to get back to next time we’re in town.

Very nice restaurant in the city of Geneva. Their fired pizzas are great and there flavor combinations are really well balanced. Pretty cool that this upscale restaurant shares a kitchen with the sports pub next door … Pumping out two completely different types of food it’s crazy. Walking into this restaurant fills you with a warmth feeling and makes you ready to eat.

We went here two nights IN A ROW. Valentine’s Day weekend and the place was slammed. We had no reservation so Friday night was tricky– had to eat late at like 9. But no biggie! My brick oven roasted vegetable lasagna was UNREAL. My husband’s pork belly sliders were RIDICULOUS! Maybe even better than the lasagna! And I usually hate pork belly because it’s too fatty– oh no, this was perfect. GREAT wine selection, too. Next night we had veal short ribs over cheddar polenta and garlicky green beans. OH. MY, GOD. Best short ribs I’ve ever had. We enjoyed it with a bottle of Anthony Road Cabernet Franc/Lemberger. Perfect pairing!!! My husband had a super juicy and delicious burger with a thick slab of Canadian bacon. We can’t wait to visit Halsey’s again on our next trip to the Finger Lakes!

My only 5 stars I have given out. For a fellow local like myself this is oddly my first time here. The service was spectacular and the food was the best I’ve had in town in a long time. Going to try and stop in more often. Will update with future visits.

This is by far one of my all-time favorite restaurants. Excellent food and service every time I have visited. Always something new and delicious to try. The servers are always very helpful and have never given me a bad recommendation. I tend to order the filet when I come, and each time it is different and delicious. The crab farfalle pasta is also another favorite of mine.

American bistro. The filet is always a good bet. I’ve been here a couple times and have been impressed with the consistency of the menu and a great staff. The ambiance is great for a date. Grab a table on the second floor near the window and open a local wine. Get a reservation if you plan on dining over the weekend. Forewarning: if you sit by the wood-fire grill, you will smell like a campfire when you get home. Not that it’s a bad thing.

I went to Halsey’s while vacationing in the Finger Lakes on 8÷13÷14. Although I thought the food was nothing special especially for the price they were charging the service was good to excellent. I found Halsey’s after wondering around for about an hour looking for a place to eat. Everywhere we went the hostesses seemed to busy to address me and there was not communication from the staff about the wait time. I did not have this experience at Halsey’s and for that reason it is getting a good review. The hostess knew what was going on in her restaurant and the waitress address our table and refilled our drinks timely. I never felt ignored or under appreciated at Halsey’s.

We walked into this restaurant after walking out of others that night trying to get dinner after a long day. We found that customer service in this geographic area tends to be very hit or miss. Luckily the service here was excellent. I wish the food was as good. It was fine but not in keeping with the prices. Both my girlfriend and I had pizzas, which were fine but didn’t taste at all like they had been wood oven cooked, which they were. On the food alone this restaurant is probably a 2 but with the excellent service I’m giving it a 3. Our waitress did a great job of being attentive without being intrusive.
