Greenfields of Geneva

Cannot begin to even express how HAPPY we are with Greenfields and the TOP NOTCH care and professionalism every staff member has provided our relative here.
Greenfields in Geneva is a 3-​part place. They have retirement condos, «assisted living» condos, and «rehabilitation care» (where from that point, you can graduate to ‘assisted living’ if you wish.)
We sought out Greenfields for rehabilitation for our relative after some major illnesses and set-​backs. Originally, our relative was to begin rehab at PROVIDENCE in Downer’s Grove, IL. Please — if anybody is reading this and either has a loved one at Providence, or, was contemplating having your loved one stay at Providence — PLEASE SEE MY REVIEW ON PROVIDENCE. DO NOT send anybody you care for there, instead — inquire with Greenfields. The amount of love, care, technology, and overall healing atmosphere is 200x better at GREENFIELD’s.
My review is for the ‘rehabilitation’ accommodations:
— Beautiful, clean, uplifting place. An almost ‘hotel-​type” atmosphere. Not at all «nursing home like» or «asylum like» which some places look like.
— Large, carpeted hotel-​type private rooms. Private bathrooms. Large TVs, dressers, closets, comfortable chairs in rooms give you comfort and privacy when visiting loved ones.
— FULLY ADJUSTBALE ‘Hospital-​type’ beds. This is a huge positive, as these aid in the comfort and healing process (after physical therapy, or even depending on what type of ailments your loved one has). MANY OTHER REHAB CENTERS DO NOT HAVE THESE, instead they have basic flat cots or single run-​of-​the-​mill beds.
— ²⁴⁄₇ care. Various CNAs and one registered nurse always on staff. WE CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW WONDERFUL EVERY SINGLE CNA HAS BEEN, AS WELL AS THE NURSES. A+
— Meals are excellent.
— Rehabilitation — usually twice a day 5 days a week — what they provide day to day all depends on the patient themselves. Again, the utmost friendliest, caring, and professional rehab experts are on staff who are very dedicated and loving to the patients.
— Main hospital is literally 4 – 5 minutes away — Delnor — which itself is a top-​notch hospital.
Other segments of the huge place include a full restaurant, library, several dining areas (for the assisted living residents as well as the ‘retirement residents’), activity halls, fitness center, hair-​care center, and on and on and ON.
Everything about this place has been beyond professional with a modern, beautiful atmosphere. I cannot recommend Greenfields enough. They also accept full MEDICARE.
At minimum, if you are having any questions or reservations about sending your loved one here — please at least take a full tour of the place and all it has to offer. If it means driving the extra 5 miles to get the best care and rehab possible, than that seems like a no brainer decision for your loved one :)
Please, AT LEAST check this place out and do a no-​obligation tour if your relative or loved one needs assisted living or rehabilitation accommodations. This is the best you can possibly get. DO NOT put them in Providence in Downer’s Grove, IL.
FINAL NOTE (as of November 2014):
*** While we are not certain about the month by month «pricing» changes of Assisted Living here (as our relative did not stay for this portion), we have heard the cost per month for Level 1 has jumped literally almost 2k — from around $ 3470 (we have brochures to back up this cost as of April 2014) to now over $ 5400 per month in just the last six months. Level 2 assisted living is over 7k a month (that is near 88k a year — unless you are very wealthy, FEW people have pensions that could sustain this)! If this is correct, this cost is not even «competitive» with most other assisted living places. Something is up, and they may have priced themselves out of the market right now.
For THIS aspect, I highly recommend doing your homework and shopping around.
