Although not technically a university or a school, Flavors of North America(FONA) offers terrific seminars on flavor science to food professionals and passionate amateurs. Here you’ll learn what makes flavor taste like flavor and see flavor science in action. These fascinating classes are punctuated with minor networking snack breaks and lunches. And at the price of zero dollars, there’s no better educational resource out there for non-technologists trying to understand what makes food taste good — and bad. I’ve taken Flavor 101 and I can’t recommend it enough. Fascinating and fun.
