A must stop if you’re in the area during apple season. We stop during Apple Fest in Gays Mills. Tip: Get there in the morning because they sell out. Bring a cooler — they sell frozen pies and they keep very well — perfect for the holidays! Fritters, Carmel apple pizza with cinnamon ice cream are our favorites!

This little house really turns out the pies during the annual Gays Mills Applefest! Inside I found a countertop loaded with boxed pies… But be careful– they just came out of the oven and they’re hot! Behind the counter you could see the ladies in action making pies, one laying out the crusts, another working the giant mixer, a third loading ‘em up with apples, etc. My pie was 7 bucks, and was really good– you should definitely make this place part of an apple weekend! I give ‘em 5 stars for working their tails off making nice pies. But be warned that during apple fest they’re selling pies as fast as they’re making them– so if you’re particular about a certain pie style(crumbly top, traditional, etc) you may have to settle for whatever they have on hand when you get there. Lighten up– it’s PIE, and no matter what it’s gonna be good!
