Friendly service. Ok wine no better than the grocery store. Decent prices. Staff was very helpful.

Too expensive for very berry and okay wine. I have been here 3 times and I’m just not the biggest fan. There are is a better winery in the area and that’s the only one I will go to next time we are here.

This place was pretty. We walked in and someone came over right away and invited us to the bar for a tasting. She asked for our Ids then left and never came back. Another lady walked over, asked what we would like, poured us a sample then walked away and started talking to another employee. My husband and I stood there looking at each other and then he said«let’s go». As we were walking out she called out and said«but you get 4 samples». Um where were you when we were standing there…

A few of the wines were very tasty! We especially liked the autumn path, which has a delicious smoky finish. I’ve rated a two because the woman helping us with our tasting didn’t tell us a single thing, gave us the smallest pours i’ve ever seen, and rushed us through the entire process. My friend and I paid a little extra(only $ 3) for extra tastes and purchased some cheese to go with our tasting, so we wanted to enjoy ourselves; we only bought a bottle because we had planned to pick one up at each spot on the tour. The guy pouring for the folks beside us gave so much more of presentation, so I’m not saying everything and everyone was horrible; we only knew about specials and details because we overheard him. Everything I know about this winery I learned from the little pamphlet I read on my own, not from our visit.

Another winery in a shopping center. But it has a great gift shop with wine themed items and for a tasting room in this location was comfortable and free! We were offered four wines of our choice, either dry or sweet. A lot of the grapes from other states. The dry Reds were good but a little expensive for my taste. We did pay $ 12 for four 2 oz servings of wine of my choice and $ 10 for 6 crackers, 4 olives and two small servings of cheese along with 2 chocolate cups with another small wine serving inside. The $ 5 cheese plate seemed like a better deal, came with oyster crackers in a bag. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The small side room to enjoy the extra tastings and cheese is quiet and comfortable. Not crowded on a busy Saturday in town probably because it’s at the end of the strip.

My husband and I really enjoyed the majority of the wines we sampled. However, the lady serving us didn’t bother to tell us what the names of the wines were. At the end we had enjoyed the 1st and 3rd wines. When we told her that she still didn’t tell us the names. She just grabbed us the two. Upon getting back to our cabin we realized they definitely were not things we would have liked. Neither of us like Blancs and that was one she gave us. Just very mediocre service and upset she gave us the wrong wines and wouldn’t bother to tell us the names. Now we have two wines we didn’t like much and we spent a good amount of money on the two bottles and glasses.

I had a coupon for a FREE gift from Sugarland Winery & after researching, read they offered a FREE Wine tasting. *WIN* We went into Downtown Gatlinburg & as soon as we walked into the winery, not only did they offer FREE Wine tasting, but FREE Wine Tours of their beautiful distillery. The wine tasting included samples of any 4 wines of your choice out of 14 – 18, both red & white selections. All wine is made in-house by Sugarland. You can also choose to sample double the amount of wine for an extra $ 3/per person or add a cheese pairing for $ 5. The friendly woman who helped us, gave us a little background on each wine before we’d drink. She’d guide you through selecting a wine to try depending if you enjoyed the sweet or bitter taste. Prices, per bottle, ranged from $ 15 – 30. She did an awesome job match-making me with the bottle of Whiley Oakley($ 18) I purchased. Let’s just say, this particular wine is the best adult grape juice I’ve ever had ;-) Definitely don’t regret this spur of the moment activity we did while in Gatlinburg. Delicious wine, southern friendliness & a beautiful winery to appreciate — everyone should check ‘em out.(Whose 21+, that is. Lol)

We went in for a wine tasting and had a great time, the staff was funny and very friendly and we ended up leaving with a bottle of their Hellbender and Baskins Creek Blanc. Nice stop!

— A nice winery — The gentleman that did our tasting wasn’t a people person and bland. But he was very friendly when we brought a big purchase. The tour was great and informative. I would recommend it.

If you’re in the mood for a series of wine tastings in Gatlinburg, start here and work your way down the street. When it’s busier, you may have to wait 10 – 15 minutes for the wine tasting, but the staff are great about keeping things moving. You start off with six free samples and can purchase additional ones at $ 3 – 5 per. Even if you’re not a wine connoisseur(and I’m definitely not one), the employees are really knowledgable and can make great recommendations or suggest good pairings based on your preferences. Like most other wine shops in Gatlinburg, Sugarland Cellars’ wines have a lot of sweet, fruit-infused tastes. If that’s your thing, you’ll like the sweets here. If it’s not, you’ll be pleased to find that there’s plenty of good options among the dry and semi-sweet wines. which I can’t say for many of the other wineries in town. Gatlinburg’s wine scene isn’t really reason enough to make the trip out here, but if you’re looking to sneak in a wine tasting or two in between your outdoorsy vacationing activities, this is probably the best place to do it.

This place is amazing! Friendly people, especially Amanda, and the wine was outstanding! Especially liked the 1802 and the Elkhorn. Delicious and fun! Easily my favorite in Gatlinburg.

We kicked of the Rocky Top Wine Trail with this winery and it was by far the best of the 5! Their wines were drier than the rest and the lady who did our tasting was so wonderful and enthusiastic! The wines are reasonably priced and delicious. We drove back just to pick up a bottle after we finished the trail. I had not tried Muscadine before so beware – it’s very sweet and is found all over this wine trail.

We stopped in here as we decided to visit all 5 wineries on the local wine trail(you earn free wine glasses just for visiting all of them). We enjoyed our free tasting and found their wines to be to our liking. They are definitely on the sweeter side, which I know isn’t for everyone. Ultimately, we left with a bottle of our favorite sample to take home.

This was my first and favorite winery in Tennessee. The service was nice and accommodating. The woman helping us explained all about the wines and taught us about the grapes grown in the area. This was our first experience with Muscadine, which we found interesting, different and tasty. All the wines we tried were tastier than we expected they’d be. They also gave us samples of «frozen» wine and seeing how it was a super hot day it was a fantastic way to end the tasting. Tasting is free but they don’t make you feel obligated to buy anything. We did however take a bottle home with us and they graciously let us stay parked in their lot as we explored the town.

Didn’t plan on stopping but we had heard good things so we decided to swing over on our last day of vacation. But now I wish we would have stop there first. We walked in and there set-up is beautiful, they have a great variety of gifts and seasonally wine items. They offer free wine tasting(Bring your I. D) and we were helped by Steven, he was very knowledgeable and helped us narrow down options till we found our favorites! I didn’t originally intend on purchasing and by no means did we feel pressured. BUT! They make some good wine! So we just couldn’t leave without it, so we decided on 3 different ones. Before leaving they were starting a free tour so we popped in on that, and the guide Peggy was beyond knowledgeable on everything wine, very impressive. Even if you don’t want to taste wine(??? why NOT???) you should at least pop by for the tour. Here’s the part where i wish i would have found out sooner. They have 4 Cellars in the area all different, with different favors, which you learn about on tour. They give you this cool stamp card and if you visit all of the cellars you get a free wine glass for each person and a whisky glass.(NO purchase necessary at that) But the good news is that the card doesn’t have an expiration so in a few years when we roll back in to town has long as we still have the stamp card its still good. Kinda cool i think!

This is a fun place to stop in Gatlinburg. The server of our tastings was super friendly and gave us lots of insight on places to see. The tastings are free and they will let you taste whatever you want. It’s fun to taste their frozen wines. Also, if you stop at their other wineries in the area you will get a gift of wine glasses! Also, if you have the gatlinburg coupon book you can get a free bottle opener with their coupon in there. My favorite wine was the Hellbender. Love it!

Drier wines than the rest of G’burg’s offerings, Sugarland’s wines actually occupy a few spots on my wine rack at home. If they’ve got the Hellbender, snag that. It’s pricey, but a darn good bottle. The tastings are free and the staff is quite knowledgeable about their wine stuff. It’s not often you meet someone in TN who can pronounce«voigner» correctly. Everyone was friendly as well. Definitely worth a stop, if even just for a quick tasting.

5-stars might be a little generous for a winery, considering this truly is more of a wine-tasting«cellar» and not a vineyard or anything. BUT, the people here were amazing and the entire ambiance and feel was classy. We did 3 different wineries along the trail and this was my favorite one. The dry wine choices were my favorites(Hellbender ftw!) compared to the other wineries we visited and it just, overall, felt less claustrophobic and more aesthetically pleasing. I loved all the paintings/photography from local artists and the set-up of the tasting bars. They give tours as well(~ 30 – 40 minutes?), and we got to walk around the barrels and bottling room with the wonderful assistance of Peggy. Peggy, honestly, is half the reason I’m even writing a review! She is SO knowledgeable about her wines(and not in a condescending way at all)! I was truly impressed. She was incredibly personable and I just wanted to give her a great big hug when the tour was all said and done! Definitely seek her out if you can, and tip her well for sure! :)

Love their wines here, their knowledge is outstanding. It is hard to get into coming from Sugarlands Area and taking a left. Sometimes it’s really busy. Easier to go around the block on RIver road and end up on the right side of the road that the Cellars is at. There is not much parking for regular cars; however there’s plenty of handicapped parking in front of the store. Their wines are bit on the dry side for me except a few of them. Great store, lots of wine items. like holders and such. They have a beautiful wine glass chandelier as you walk in. This makes a great stop if your heading out of Gatlinburg to the Smokeys /Sugarland.

Great staff! No vacation trip is complete without a stop to the local wineries. We were staying in Gatlinburg so this winery was within walking distance of our condo. We were greeted by Amanda and Steven when we arrived. Steven did our tasting. They were fantastic and we enjoyed learning about and tasting the dry and semi-sweet wines here. They have a great dry red named 1802 and a very good dry white named Trillium. They have three semi-sweet wines. One is a blend of red and white muscadine, Martha Jane Rose; one has honey and citrus flavors, Baskins Creek Blanc; and one is made from loganberries, Elkmont. Now on to their three sweet wines. Wiley Oakley is a blend between concord grapes and blueberry wine, Mountain Laurel is a sweet muscadine wine, and Cherry-Kee is made from 100% cherries. We purchased three bottles. One for our romantic Christmas weekend vacation and the other two to take home.
