I’ve never been to a Food City, but after watching the Food City 500 for years, I was aware that this is a store that spends its advertising dollars wisely. And thus, I’m curious. So the obligatory food stop during our first night in Gatlinburg included a visit. Previous Unilocaled are dead on… a bit overpriced, but produce is really fresh, and you can get anything you need here. Deli closed by the time we arrived at 930 pm, but prepackaged lunch meat was available. And yes, make sure you pick up a guest card. We apparently saved $ 35 on our $ 150 purchase, plus we saved $.15 per gallon at the pump when we filled up the thirsty suburban. Not bad perks! Good, solid establishment. I endorse.

It’s one of the few grocery stores in town; as a result, the prices here tend to be anywhere from 50 to 100% more expensive then I’m used to in most other stores. On the flip side the grocery store is extremely clean, quaint, and cute. You tell that the population is extremely local and thus everyone here is very homely and kind. You will find the occasional decent price on really low sales but generally if you plan on buying any sort of groceries while on vacation make sure to shop frugally.

Great location north of the downtown which has plenty of parking and a gas station on the north end of the parking lot. This store does not lack for fresh food or help to get you to where you want to go inside. The Valucard is worth getting as it saved me $ 25 bucks on groceries for the week. Would recommend.

Not very many actual healthy options and it is always super crowded with loud people when I go here because the aisles and such are kind of small… However it is the only place in the area to get groceries and it has pretty well everything you will need if you are staying the weekend or something. Always having sales as well.

For the sushi alone, I give them 5 stars. For a party or a special evening, it is awesome. Try the fresh made spring rolls. Yumm0. Healthy. I do not buy sushi at Dierbergs, Schnucks or anywhere, but here I see when it was made, I see the person making if and I buy it all the time. Thank you Food City!

If you are in Gatlinburg, shop here! We drove to Pigeon Forge, not knowing this grocery store was in town and actually less than a quarter mile from our resort. The have everything, get a card from there to take advantage of savings

This place looks like a decent supermarket so on our vacation we decided to stop here to stock up on some items. One of the items I bought was a vegetable platter from the deli. It didn’t look right or fresh. I decided to return it and thinking like any other local chain it would not be any issue. It was my surprised when I told the cashier I wanted to return she said she had to speak to the manager. Only the manager does returns. She was so rude to me and treated me like I wasn’t her kind or something. Told me she could not return it. After a fight she finally did but told me unless items were opened and expired they would not take them. I told her I didn’t open the vegetable platter to taste anything because it looked rotten. Would she wanted to open it and taste it? I tried to return other items and could not do so. This is not the way to treat tourist who are your biggest bread and butter probably in this very small town. I suggest for anyone visiting to avoid this place. Food is not fresh and they give you issues to return their own rotten food. I also found the people who worked there to be racist. I am a latina girl and they looked down on me. I was not treated like other people. This is not the way things are where I live. I plan on sending a letter to the corporate office. This store needs some adjustments and better public service.

they have a salad bar with a big sign that says«salads $ 4.99» nowhere does it say per pound. so we filled up a container and took it to the cashier to find out that it IS per pound. We told the cashier about the problem. She didn’t really care. SUPERLAME!!! It was a fare price for what we got. It was just terribly and carelessly mislabeled.

While staying in a cabin in Gatlinburg, the wife and I wanted to stock up on some groceries to save a little money and some trips into town, and Food City is the closest grocery store, although it was about a 20 minute drive from our cabin, it was worth it to get supplies and save a little money. Fairly nice grocery store with a nice produce and meat department. The store was clean and stocked with friendly associates. Prices were comparable to any other grocery store chain I’ve ever been to. I had heard a lot of complaints on here about not getting their discount card, however our cashier was very friendly and got us one, which saved us a few bucks. There’s also a pharmacy here if you need a refill on prescriptions or anything major, there’s a RedBox out front to rent Blu Rays or DVD’s, and they have a decent selection of anything else you would need to supply your cabin. The place wasn’t that busy when we got there, but I think we arrived at about 9pm, so we probably missed the peak hours. Overall, this was a nice store. I didn’t give more stars because I live in Florida and shop at Publix, which puts every other grocery store chain to shame, so I’ve been spoiled in that regard. However, this is a nice store to shop at if you’re in Gatlinburg, well, cause it’s the only store to shop at. Well-stocked, decent prices, and friendly associates make this a nice store overall, and I would definitely recommend if you’re staying in a cabin.

If you want groceries while in Gatlinburg, I recommend going into PF to get them. This store is a madhouse. Selection is OK, but, either go to the Food City in PF or Kroger or Walmart in PF. Just too hectic… there were 8 people in line alone for the Redbox — couldn’t even get around them to get in the store!

Staying at a cabin so went to buy a few essentials. Also rented a RedBox movie. Just like every store you need a «shoppers discount card». Go to the front desk and they will provide a visitor card so you get all the sale prices. But we have the BEST cabin owners ever and they actually had the discount card waiting for us at our cabin. Prices were very similar to Krogers by my home in Cincinnati.

Ive seen a lot of bad reviews for vacationers due to the value card, however, as soon as I went into the store I asked for a card, and was handed a guest food city value card which gave me the deals without the actual card. Our cashier was very nice.

This grocery shop saved our trip to Gatlinburg… Some days before we were in Asheville and were expecting to find nice natural/vegan food in Gatlinburg too, oh no, not much besides BBQ and fried stuff, also pancakes. We were happy to find organic produce in Food City, fresh fruits and some other good stuff like good quality olive oil, sparkly water etc.

What can I say about a grocery store… hmmm let me think. Firstly being the only grocery in town, I guess everyone does their grocery shopping here. Lot of parking. A gas station attached to it. You get pretty much everything you get at a Publix or Kroger. Did not check to compare prices as were on vacation ;-). I think they were just normal priced… You have to use a card to get the sale prices. We had just stopped by to get some eggs and butter for morning breakfast.

They had everything we needed: beer, bottled water, salsa, and a red box! Their produce section looked so fresh and varied, we were kicking ourselves for doing our main shopping in Pigeon Forge. It is a pain that they won’t scan a store card to let you in on the sale prices, but we were on vacation so we didn’t let it bother us.

Great deli that has a variety of options you can pick up on the fly for a picnic in the national park. You can easily ask for a Food City member card and save on your purchases, even if you’re not a local.

This is the grocery store that father time has forgotten. Selection is pretty slim brand wise, prices are hiked up because it’s in the middle of a tourist mess and what’s up with all the creepster dim lighting? Ick.
