I’m not impressed at all. I had to go back to the salon to have my hair fixed because the color was spotty and not blended and not like the picture I brought in at all. So I sat in the chair twice, that’s 8 total hours wasted, and I still left without what I asked for. I can’t fathom why this hair color could be so difficult for a professional. It was suppose to be a simple ombré with autumn and golden blonde. I do not have an ombré and there’s no blonde even in my hair. DONOTBOOKWITHANNE. I am so disappointed. Not only did I have a terrible experience with the stylist, but I’ve been trying to get in touch with the manager, and she’s not answering my calls or my texts. She said she would call me to make things right today. It’s nearly 7PM and I’ve heard nothing back from her. I guess I should’ve put up a red flag when they called and canceled my first appointment 20 minutes before when I was already on my way. I’m usually really easy to work with, but this has been a nightmare and now I’m out $ 160 and still don’t have the hair color I wanted. UPDATE: the manager finally got back in touch with me and gave me a full refund. Needless to say, I will not be back, but appreciate the 100% refund.

I’ve been coming here for more than a decade to have my hair done. The staff and quality of service you receive at Bangz is always the highest level. The salon has an Aveda Concept Salon designation without the snootiness of other salons located in the metro area. They’re warm, down to earth and take care of your every need. What about hair? I’m still here after 12 years. My hair is my thing, so that says a lot. They stay on top of trends while offering a wide variety of services and new color techniques. The owner and staff here truly care about their clients. No hair problem is too great and they’ll take care of any issues you have.

I’ve been to many Aveda salons across the country and there are typically two types: the kind where you stay at the stylists station from start to finish(my preference) and the kind where you have your consultation at the stylists station and then move to a separate area to have the color applied. Bangz is the latter of the two. I was so glad to find an Aveda salon in Gaston county so that I wouldn’t have to drive out to southpark to get products. The first time I came in was for shampoo, conditioner and a few other things. The receptionist is very friendly and they must have been slow that day as a couple stylists came out to chat. I returned for a pedicure in their spa area which was fantastic. Her name escapes me but the lady that does them was so personable and nice. One of the best pedis I have ever had. She also does the waxing and I had planned to return for her to do my brows. I made an appointment for an all over color and trim and was scheduled with James. He consulted with another stylist and determined that he would just touch up the regrowth and suggested that if I wanted to go a bit lighter, I could do some highlights. He didn’t have time to do it that day so he just did the regrowth. After applying my color, he took another client and applied her color. I understand the business reasons for doing this, as more clients in the seats means more revenue; however, because of this he was constantly rushed through the service. He was wearing a watch when it came time to rinse my hair that had about an inch of extra strap hanging off. As he was rinsing, this piece of leather kept hitting me in the face and splashing water all over. I’ve had stylist wear jewelry before(male and female) but never anything that interfered with what they were doing. When he was doing my cut, he constantly looked at his watch and checked his schedule. At this point, he still had a client with color in her hair. His focus was certainly not on what he was doing as a trim turned into two inches of hair being cut off. I just had a cut 6 weeks ago so my hair wasn’t that damaged. He kept trying to push the Aveda gift packages on me and then the product that he used. Needless to say, I was less then impressed. He then gave me four business cards and asked me to refer my friends. When I left, I immediately called modern salon in Charlotte to see if I could get in for the highlights and to fix the cut so that it worked with the new length but they were understandably booked. Wen I called Bangz back, the only person that they could get me in with was James again(who said he didn’t have time). I understand that a business is there to make money but going to the salon should be a relaxing experience, not one where clients are shuffled through like cattle in an effort to maximize the time. I would never recommend the salon services here and will be perfectly content in the future to simply drive to charlotte to go to Modern.
