This place sucks. Food quality and preparation is very inconsistent. One thing that is consistent is their poor customer service. The bartenders are rude and uninterested in the customers. One of their bartenders whom I believe is also a city councilor is rude when she is working and is a complete horror as a patron. She drinks excessively and berates the customers here. They close whenever they feel like it, usually before 11pm. What kind of bar closes that early? I cannot wait for the Ace Tavern to open up again!

We had the farm burger and happily got our arteries clogged. We also had the loaded fries 1.0. If we came here again, I might try the 2.0, because it was a little sweet(the bleu cheese dressing?). I put creamy horseradish on it and was very happy. The place was busy, but had seating. Nice people. Good food.

Fantastic food and libations at affordable prices. Friendly staff complimented by local community of fun spirited Oregonians. Patio slots and more. Don’t miss this historic gem of history gone by.

I come here at least once a week. Everyone is super friendly and the foods pretty good. I love the fire pit outside, it’s definitely something you wouldn’t expect but it’s awesome to warm up by a fire and meet new friends.

For a small-town dive bar, this place rocks. We live close and are new to this town so I was glad to sit next to a friendly crew all the way down the bar top. I only had one beer and went because I have a strange affinity for hotdogs and I heard it was«Weiner Wednesday.» That it was! Had a delicious dog from a long list of choices. The chips and salsa were not good but my barstool neighbor forced me to try her fries and they were reallllllly good. I only had one beer but the mixed drinks looked awful strong. Lots of locals but I wouldn’t hesitate sending folks there who visit my winery who need a quick, yummy, greasy bite between wineries. It’s a local dive and I’m going often!

Great hideaway place with great service! The farm burger is to die for, and their chili is house made with fresh tomatoes. I would highly recommend this place!

Great little stop. A friend lives nearby and we just walked in. I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the food. I will be back when in town. There was more then one horse décor in the tavern, lol.

Great lunch menu! Had a cheese burger and subbed a cup of homemade hungarian mushroom soup instead of fries. Soup was outstanding, and the burger was great. My dinning companion had the mushroom/Swiss burger with fries. The burgers were properly cooked(juicy and the meat a little pink in the middle). The fries were cooked dark, but not burned. Delicious and crunchy. Plan on being back soon to have dinner and enjoy one of their nightly specials.

Fri night steak is the best you’ll ever eat for $ 20. Cold beer, great bartender on Friday nights. Give this place a try.

Incredible food and amazing staff. We went with friends who go here once a week and have been telling us the unbelievable quality of the prime rib. They weren’t kidding. My husband had the prime rib and I had the Flame burger. The French fries were the«best he had ever had» and my Flame beer not only great but the presentation was top notch. Our server told us all about the meat, where it was from and knew everything about the food and menu. The chef also was so passionate about his cooking, it was really neat to see. I would recommend this place all day long, not only for anyone living in the area — but it is even worth the drive for people living further away.

Free internet, good cheap beer, a cool patio out back. Haven’t tried the food. Nothing fancy, but a fairly good watering hole if you’re in the neighborhood.

Went on a Tuesday during a visit to my parents house in the boondock mountains. Wasn’t impressed with the bartender(coming from a bartender) because only a 1 ounce shot was poured for a peach cobbler drink(in a pint glass mind you). I work at a fancy hotel and even we pour stronger than that. HOWEVER, I have heard from multiple people that the man working weekends is an amazing bartender so I may be back to give him a try for a decent drink. Had a burger as well. Was decent for 8 $ or so. The bun was just a basic white in toasted bun and it didn’t come with fries. I suppose weighing it out now… I was rather disappointed from the visit overall. Have visited a second time – on a weekend evening. Wouldn’t have a burger again but their sandwiches are very good! Their cordon Bleu and Ruben are tasty as well as their fried mushrooms. The beer is a pretty safe bet since the pours on cocktails are a little skimpy. The workers do a lot on their own though, been there, so always tip well! 15% is just okay btw.

This husband is convinced. The One Horse Tavern is a great spot to get a good draft beer and great food. If you somehow don’t feel like one of the the best steaks you will ever taste on Fridays and Saturdays… then try the Farm Burger… every animal in the barn yard on a bun.

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time, but my husband wasn’t as eager. Last Friday, though, after being told that the wait at the Grand Lodge was an hour and a half(!!!) we finally went to the One Horse. The price was fair, the food(I had a chef salad, he had a huge burger), the service was friendly, and the ambience was very fun and genuine. So much better than the Grand Lodge!

Ventured out of my suburban environ to this lil town for dinner… Gaston is a very small town about 15 miles southwest of Hillsboro on route 47. It has two pubs, One Horse Tavern and Ace’s Tavern. I went to One Horse Tavern after being intimidated by some reveiews of Ace’s. Had the Flame burger which was very good. The bartender kept to bussiness with a straight face. The chef was nicer … Overall it was a 3.5…
