This place is way over priced for the area. I think they need to move into an upscale place in Raleigh. The food was good, but nothing different from Agora in downtown.

Have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. It is expensive but good food is worth it occasionally! Portions are just right. Geek coffee is very good. I do not like string coffee and I would order it «sorta sweet» and enjoy. Baklava is wonderful!!! Service is excellent. Atmosphere good, we will go back!

We came for lunch as we were just passing through the area from out of town. Stopped in based off the fantastic Unilocal reviews. Had avelegemo soup and grape leaves to start. Both very good. Hubby had the gyro and seasoned fries. Gyro was outstanding, probably one of the best we’ve ever had!!! Seasoned fries were fantastic. I had one of the daily specials, eggplant parmigiana. It was melt in your mouth good!!! Highly highly recommend! Definitely worth the stop! Waiter rj was good and the rest of the staff was great with my kids, especially our uncooperative 18 month old!

Tasty food and friendly staff. While Looking for something different, we found this diamond in a old shopping center. Our order, beef kabobs and halibut on linguini, was delicious and

Very«upscale causal» restaurant. Much nicer than expected for this area. Food and service were impeccable. Prices were quite reasonable. Large portions. Great little find!

Great food with impeccable service. Our waitress offered us a few wines to try before we ordered. The meatball appetizer was divine. We had the HERBCRUSTEDMAHIMAHI over lemon linguine with mixed vegetables as the entrée; and finished the meal with BAKLAVACHEESECAKE. It just doesn’t get any better.

Absolutely LOVE this place! They are the best Greek place in all of NC. The owner, Nick, is a very nice guy and his passion for good food is evident the moment you talk to him. The food is classic and delicious. I have been here many, many times and have yet to have anything that is not wonderful! I love the calamari, the Kofta, kabobs and the Gyro from the everyday menu. His dinner specials are sublime and my favorite is the sea bass with risotto. I also love the lamb shank. As my husband is Greek, I brought him here after we were married two years ago, after we had a ceremony in Greece. He is hooked also and we love it so much we had our first anniversary party here! Great food, great service and a great place for a night out or just a nice lunch. HIGHLY recommend it!

Great Greek place in a strip mall in Garner of all places. The ambiance was great. Very nice place, would be a great date restaurant. Can’t in here dirty lunch on a Sunday. I had the kafta souvlaki, wife had the chicken souvlaki. The homemade tzatziki was on point, and the fries were amazing. Fresh cut potatoes, seasoned with cheese, garlic, and herbs. Unreal good. Both were very good. Service was impeccable. I plan to come back here for dinner, I bet it’s first rate. As a big fan of Greek food, finding authentic Greek food in this part of the world is hard, and this place looks like the real deal.

Excellent food and terrific service. Stuffed salmon was outstanding, cooked perfectly, moist and flaky with an amazing creamy dill sauce. Perfectly seasoned steamed veggies were excellent as well. A great find, and we will definitely be back!

This is honestly my favorite place to eat in Garner. It is on the fancier side, but don’t let that stop you. I have never had a bad dish here. Their service and employees are always so nice and welcoming. You can tell it’s family owned, which just makes it so much better in my opinion! The dessert is always so tempting when they bring it to your table… one of these days I’ll go just for dessert! Always leave happy and full!

Ordered the veal chop & mixed veggies with the mushroom Marsala sauce & the moussaka. My goodness, everything was cooked to perfection! I was so pleased with the meal that I had to come up with an excuse to my husband to go back for lunch the next day. The veal was perfectly seared with the right amount of seasonings. The veggies seemed undercooked, however, the slight crunch was actually a good contrast to the soft chop. The Marsala sauce was a definite star on this dish. It was so savory that I could’ve easily been happy with just a bowl of it! The moussaka was delish! The layers were perfectly defined & the flavors in each layer were distinct. I highly recommend you try it! My mouth is watering from memories!

If you want to experience a wonderful pleasant taste of a real Gyro then look no further. Alexander’s is perhaps one of the best Mediterranean tastes I have experienced in a long time. The menu prices are very reasonable and portions are large enough to fill the hungriest of men… and women. Plenty of parking(next to the post office) and the best time perhaps is lunch. Food is delivered quickly, fresh and with a nice presentation. The indoor is darker but easy on the eyes with a nice relaxed atmosphere with excellent seating. I would highly recommend this place.

I returned to Alexander’s for lunch with a different friend and had a lovely time. The service was very attentive, and the food was great once again. I really appreciated the good bread, which came with an excellent olive oil. They’d even infused the oil with garlic — just the right amount. I had the lamb sandwich again, because I can’t resist lamb. It was good, though I would have spiced the lamb a bit more. I had a salad on the side, and this was very nice. I appreciate good quality greens with a nice vinaigrette. Overall, I’m impressed with the quality of ingredients, and let’s be honest — I’m a food snob. There, I’ve said it. Keep up the good work Alexander’s, and I’ll keep bringing people here! p. s. Please make me some moussaka!

Our valentines destination, and 1st visit to Alexander’s. Based on the reviews we had to come. I’m Greek & this is such a treat so close to home. Missing my native cooking, this will be on our regular list of go to restaurants. Nice atmosphere, quiet, not loud at all. A nice escape from my very busy loud life. Very relaxing, I could easily over welcome my stay. Leaving with out bells bellies happy & looking forward to our quick return. Greatest by our nice server, Tom &the owner daisy & nick came to our table as well. Which is a rare treat. Real gyro meat, and the owner, nick cooks like he’s from NYC. Which is where were from. Glad they came here to garner nc Oh & my baklava… Sorry I ate it before I even thought of taking a pic !! Haha & yes it was delish!

The love I have for Spanakopita is deep and it’s real. The warm spinach, the salty creamy feta and the buttery phyllo dough creates a cosmic orgy in my mouth. I started making it at home but that was dangerous because I would finish off an entire tray within a day. So now when I need a fix I come to Alexanders. First let me say that I am not of Greek origin so I cannot vouch for how«authentic» the food is, but I can say that it’s GOOD. They’re located in this random little strip mall next to a post office and sadly I think their location is really contributing to their lack of business. They always appear to be empty, which makes no sense because, like I said, the food is good! The Little Ceasars a few doors down is busier than they are on daily basis(if that tells you anything). Service is awesome and the waitresses are super attentive. It has dim lighting that creates a kind of intimate vibe, although some might find it too dark. These folks are REALLY trying to create an enjoyable dining experience and that’s really refreshing for the city of Garner. Most of the dining options in the area are corporate, soulless, chains churning out processed muck for us to shovel into our pie hole. This is the one place I can think of where culinary pride exists. The spanakopita(while not the best I’ve ever had) is damn good. The 2 tiny complaints I have are they use unpitted olives and they don’t always have background music on. Other than that, they’re peachy!

Service was very good. We ate there for lunch on a Sat. The fries were noteworthy as they were perfectly blanched and crispy! The hummus was excellent. The wine list was nice with choices from Italy, Spain, Greece, as well as domestic. First time my wife really enjoyed Mediterranean food. The atmosphere was cozy if a little dated. We will definitely go back!

Combination review of two recent visits to Alexanders. The first on a Tuesday evening and the second on a Sunday evening. Not many folks dining either time but I was pleased that the service was both prompt and professional. The waitress brought warmed bread with olive oil and spices. The wine menu was adequate and, actually a bit interesting. I ordered a wine inspired by a goddess. How could you go wrong? Actually, the wine was rather good. A nice blend that had overtones of Cab Sav, Shiraz, and a touch of Merlot. Well worth the moderate price. On both visits the servers were very friendly and if you desired, they would engage in conversation. I can see how it would be very easy to become a regular here and enjoy an almost friendship type relationship with the staff. Ok, so the food… On my first visit I had planned on having a standard Mediterranean dish, I was temped by one of the specials — a Sea Bass. As you might know, Sea Bass is a picky little fish so I knew I ordered it would challenge the kitchen. The Sea Bass was beautiful and cooked to perfection. The entire meal was well prepared and had a well above average taste for Garner. The quality actually rivaled that of an upper scale restaurant in our neighboring Raleigh. My only recommendation would be to go just a bit lighter on the sauce. Great. Yummy. But a bit overpowering. Perhaps order light sauce or on the side so that you can make the dish to your tastes. On my second visit I had to go with some beef, so I ordered the Beef Kabobs. I ordered the same wine as before as it was so nice. It didn’t disappoint the second time. Anyway, the Kabobs were cooked as ordered, were tender, and had a nice flavor. The purple onions were just a tad harsh but it is winter and should be expected. The gilled vegitables were lightly seasoned crisp without being hard. The baked potato wedges were probably the most interesting item on the plate. They do have a rather lemony taste so don’t expect a southern wedge. Actually, I never decided if I really liked them or not. There were two sauces with the dish. I tasted both, but really liked the food sans sauce. Overall, an excellent choice for Garner. If you look at my other ratings you will see that I am rather stingy with my top ratings. I’m giving this my tops because of where it is located. If it were in a large city, I would give it one level lower due to available options. In Garner, this is one of your best best for urban food in suburbia.
