I visited this place for 4 times now. Food quality is very consistent. I usually take Whole Fish and it is cooked perfectly everytime. You can get Mild or Hot but I liked it Mild better. Their Chicken Curry with Fufu is out of this world and my wife loves their dirty rice. Owner Mark is always there to make sure that everything is cooked to perfection.

Stop the presses — these wings are BIG! I’m talking pterodactyl big. They offer them with & with out the breading — whew. I met & visited with Mark, the owner for a long time. It’s the American dream in action. BBQ, Garlic-Parm & Caliente were my choices and they all were excellent. The BBQ gets the nod as the best b/c it really has a unique flavor & punch. The fries with vinegar are a nice compliment. No beer on site yet but it’s in his plan for growth. All the staff was friendly & attentive. Give it a try!

Found this place because of Groupon. Otherwise, I would never have driven so far to try this place out. If I were going to rate it on the Samoosa, I’d give the place 5 stars because it was absolutely delicious. Sadly for them, I had a Groupon to burn, so I tried several things. Chicken Curry Stew: Good flavor, but nothing to write home about. Annoying thing is that they were out of all of the side options except for greens, which I did not try. Boerewores sausage and chips: the sausage was okay, but nothing I would order again… and I love sausage of all kinds(probably comes from German heritage from generations ago in my family), so this comment is not coming from a novice eater. The chips were steak fries. Even with a little vinegar they could not be saved from disappointment. Wings: Let me start first with… why does anyone put breading on wings? Gross. That said, the wings were not that great. And for the other people who have written reviews claiming they are the biggest wings they’ve ever seen, I say to you… get out of Garland and you might actually find a restaurant that serves decent wings. This place does not. The worst part about this place is that I was the only customer in there and probably had been the only customer in quite a while because I went early around 4:30ANDTHETABLESWERENOTCLEAN. Huge pet peeve of mine having been a restaurant worker years ago. So… long story short: if you decide to go here, order a few samoosas to go(they’re only $ 1.50) and drive away happy.

My family went here for the first time last night, and it was fantastic. I ordered the special, boerewores sausage, which had a wonderful balance of spices that really complemented the meat. It was perfectly cooked, managing to be both lean and moist. It came with a generous side of chips/fries which were great doused in vinegar. My kids(3 and 4) each had an order of kids wings. They were some of the biggest wings I have seen in a wings establishment, and the BBQ sauce was great. My 4 year old daughter said they were the best wings she had ever had, which despite her young years amounts to quite a few varieties. My three year old loved the chips and enjoyed the vinegar experiment. My husband ordered the hot wings. I found the spiciness to be hot without the overly vinegary taste a lot of establishments will have with their hot sauce. The portions for their meals were also very generous. We also tried the samoosas. They were amazingly flavorful, and the pastry was tender, perhaps some of the best samoosa pastry I’ve tasted(and my husband and I are samoosa fiends in every cuisine!). The establishment itself was small and cozy, and the owner friendly. They were really open to questions and didn’t seem to mind my rambunctious preschoolers. Of special note, they were very helpful with my son’s wheat allergy. Usually the wings are fried in flour, but they were very accommodating to our needs. That part was what made them five stars in my book… Not too many restaurants are willing to change existing recipes for allergic patrons’ needs. We will definitely be returning!

Pretty good sausage, need to go back to try other dishes. Kind of expensive for just a sausage and chips though. The owner was a nice guy.

A nice little entry in the grab a quick lunch close to my office category. Went here just a few days after they opened and really enjoyed the experience. The owner was there and wanted to meet everyone and tell them a little about his story. I felt very at home(whether it was because of his greetings or because he bought alot of his fixtures and furniture at my Borders when it closed I don’t know. Seriously –he even bought the espresso machine). I didn’t really know what to order but the cashiers have obviously been well trained and were there to make suggestions. They were also very friendly and courteous. I ended up going with the borewores sausage and a couple of meat pies. I also got a side of the fried corn on the cob. The sausage was quite tatsy-was it authentic-I couldn’t really tell you as I don’t have a lot of experience with African food. I can say it was delicious and I will go back for more. The meat pies were also very good-the meat(ground beef) was seasoned very well and the crust was tasty as well. The corn on the cob was good– but not what I expected. Living in the south for so long I expect almost anything that is deep fired to be breaded first-not so with the corn on the cob. They just drop in in nekkid. It was still really good-nothing to cover up the natural flavor of the corn. All in all this is a nice little place that I will def. be back to visit and try some of the other African dishes –as well as the wings!
