Was going down Main Street, when I saw this place and didn’t notice that this place just opened and bought out an old italian restaurant. Went inside, and this place very professional, waitresses look business casual, and the place just looks quaint. After I sat down, it took awhile for the waitress to come and wait on me, but once she was helping me out, she was great, very helpful and nice. What, I like about the whole place is they have certain dishes on certain days, and it was Friday when I went in. They had Peppered Steak, which was just great. But all in all, I think this place is just perfect for a first date.

Very cool place! Fancy atmosphere, but the dress code is casual. They brought us a «taste» if a new dish they’re planning on serving in the future. New menu every day posted to facebook. Pretty neat!

I really enjoyed this place! On the corner of the square — lots of windows and natural light! Beautiful, trendy décor — worked great for casual family lunch, but could see potential for a romantic candlelight dinner also! The food was delicious! We got to taste the potato salad(I normally dislike it) but this was so good! I had the OMG burger for lunch — juicy, not greasy and cooked perfectly, good flavor too! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Chef Rodney’s visit to the table was a nice, personal touch — very appreciated!

Our first visit here and it was good. The food was really good. The portions are good for the price. My wife had the OMG burger, she enjoyed it but OMG may have been a bit of an over statement. My son had the chopped brisket sandwich and he loved it! The both enjoyed the homemade potato chips. I had the chicken fajitas but it was really chicken tacos but it was good. You should check this place out, you won’t be disappointed.

We found it empty Saturday morning at 8:30AM. There’s a couple of restaurants close that have incredibly loyal customers. Rodney will have to perform incredible in order to compete in the morning. Breakfast menu is small, chef designed. We both had the stack. Over-medium egg on a layer of ham on fried potatoes on a pancake. The portion was not giant, but it was all we needed. Taste was great. Interior very upscale. Jazz music in the back ground pefectly volumed and chosen wisely. Try it out! I’m going back for the chicken finger and pancakes, and maybe for the lunch/dinner that sounds chef/soul.

Today, Friday, I had the opportunity to eat at The Taste By Chef Rodney in downtown Garlalnd. Friday’s specialsl were: Salmon Salad Sandwich with homemade chips or Chicken Tetrazzini with cucumber salad. Also there were salads and other sandwiches you could order as well as soup. I ordered the salmon salad sandwich which was good. We were brought something called potato pop(or something like that) as a free amuse-bouche(taste). Apparently they will be adding it to the menu in the next few weeks. It was great. and I would order it when it does get on the menu. The waitress brought me the cucumber salad by mistake. When I pointed out I didn’t order it, she said I could have it instead of chips. The cucumber salad was delicious and I don’t even like cucumbers usually. She did bring us some chips to try which would have been better with salt. Overall it was a very nice lunch. The ice tea was fresh and the service excellent. I plan to take other friends there for lunch. The Taste is a great addition to downtown Garland.
