My favorite place to get bahn mi in Dallas! They’re friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Number one is a classic of mine!

I took a chance and drove 25 minutes to this place for bahn mi. Well worth the trip. I bought two #10 roast pork bahn mi since they were only $ 3.50 each, thinking that if I couldn’t finish them, I wouldn’t have wasted much money. Ha! A few bites into the first one I was glad I had bought a second. Bread was perfect, a crispy crust and soft on the inside. The veggie marinade was delicious. Pork very tender and flavorful. Just enough cilantro and chile to balance it out, and the thin cucumber spears added the right crunch. I will return.

My favorite banh mi place ever since I’ve moved to Dallas. I drive about 20ish minutes for just some banh mi.
Banh mi is basically a Vietnamese sandwich. There’s different types of sandwiches you can order. Banh mi dac biet is my favorite! Second favorite is banh mi thit nuong. They have a deal, and it’s buy 3 get 1 free. I always get 3 + 1. Save it for later or eat it the next day. It’s a great deal.
You can get the veggies in or out. If you’re not eating it right away, definitely get it out. You can ask for more ingredients if you want. I do. Of course the sandwich will taste better fresh, so I’d definitely suggest eating your sandwich ASAP for your first visit.

How have I not reviewed??? Maybe it’s because I’m too busy stuffing my face with deliciousness to care.
I’ve barely moved back, and I’ve already eaten here 4 times. It’s the best place for Banh Mi, actually, sandwiches in general! Prices are super cheap, ~$ 3 to $ 3.50 a sub.
I totally recommend the Banh mi Thit Nguoi and the Banh Mi Ga.
Mouth-​watering, y’all.
Don’t forget the kids, subs are buy 3 get 1 free, so bring home some dinner, and try not to eat them all in the car, that stuff gets everywhere.
I forgot to mention! They make everything in house, the bread is baked fresh, and they make their own paté and mayonnaise.
Do prepare to stand in line.
Note: if you’re getting your subs to-​go, get the greens on the side, you don’t want your banh mi getting all sad and soggy.

Other than the fact the employees assume that I’m Vietnamese, this place is awesome when it comes to their Banh Mi sandwiches. They’re hoagie bread is so crispy & soft, making it easier to bite into & tear off. Overall, it’s worth a recommendation, so go & give them a try.

Great value starting with the house made breads — buttery and fresh.
The sandwiches themselves along with the variety are fantastic and the pricing and specials can not be beat.

By far the best banh mi in Dfw. This is the only place I’ll order my banh mi from. Can’t go wrong with the traditional Thit Nguoi and my absolute favorite Thit Nuong.
They have the buy 3 get 1 free which is awesome.
The bakery is tiny, they should make their order/​checkout counter and little more spacy and accessible. Always feel cramped when I go there.

Can actually taste the pâté on the sandwiches. Bread nice and fresh, not too dry to eat without a few cokes…

They barley speak any English so you’ll have to be patient when ordering

Found this little gem of a bakery after a friend referral. They are the BOMB. So much lard butter used in each bun, but lets be honest, «healthy» wasn’t on your mind when you looked up banh mi shop anyway.
Fresh ingredients, accepts credit cards, under $ 12 for 4 sandwiches. You NEED to buy at least 3. Might as well grab some for your next 3 meals to get that 1 for free. If you do, ask for the vegetables on the side to keep them fresher.

By far one of the best classic banh mi i have ever had! Perfectly portioned meat/​veggie ratio and the bread is light and crispy fresh. I don’t live here but every time i come back to town i will definitely be back for one of these amazing sandwhiches!

Banh mi Vietnamese sandwiches are great, cheap (only $ 3.79?!), and quick. They churn them out fast.
Wouldn’t mind to stop by for a quick bite whenever I’m in the area.

My experience here this morning was not Quoc Bao’s finest hour. I got there at about 10:30 Sunday morning, intending to avoid the lunch rush.
— I was told at the register that there would be a 20 minute wait, since there were several large sandwich orders in front of me. After the 20 minute drive, I found this to be acceptable, if not delightful.
— 30 minutes later, I was called to the counter. I peeked in the bag to spot check my 2 grilled chicken, 2 #13 pork combo (roasted and pulled) order. The bag held 4 unmarked sammies. The team had never fumbled my order before, so I chose trust.
Upon my arrival home, I found 4 plain roast pork sammies, ⁰⁄₄ versus my order. After waiting 30 minutes, I expected and hoped for more.
Oh, well– I will return anyway, because I believe this place offers the best sandwich for the best price on the planet, but their luster has tarnished a bit today, based on this experience.

I would consider this a «hidden gem» since it’s in an area that you would generally overlook. As soon as you walk in, you get the smell of fresh bread baking, although it is quite warm in there (not surprising considering it’s a bakery). I always get the white ham sub, this is the only banh mi place that I actually crave for.

Still a 4 star rating for me, but I’m not as excited about this place anymore as I was the first time. I’ve been here two other times since then and feel like the bread has gotten harder and the meat they put in seems to be less each time too. We probably won’t go out of our way to come here anymore.

For over (OVER) 10 years, I’ve been merely quietly shushing my banh mi cravings with those that are served at phô restaurants. I knew they weren’t anywhere close to the real thing. The aromas and flavors that I savored as a child were simply absent.
I finally sought the help of Unilocal (ha) to find the most authentic made (and most praised!) banh mi in the DFW area. I live at least 40 minutes from Garland, so one day I was in the neighborhood for a baby shower and I felt that awful terrible craving rear its ugly head. Hey! I’m halfway there. Let’s plug that sucker into the GPS.
The parking lot is riddled with potholes, and you have a strong urge to hide all belongings in your vehicle away from prying eyes. The actual bakery itself is, well, a bakery. There is hardly room to stand in line, but the smell of freshly baked baguettes is intoxicating. The store is messy and handwriting is scrawled across the register indicating a styrofoam tip cup and other miscellaneous nonsense.
There’s a buy 3 get 1 free deal? Sold. I waited for about 10 minutes and watched 3 girls slave away on these long orders that were ahead of me. Picked up a vietnamese coffee for work that night, and was outta there.
Almost perfect. The bread is flaky & crisp on the outside and soft and buttery on the inside. (phô restaurant level banh mi bread always cut my mouth up) The garlicky-​butter mayo is what defines this ingenious sub. Just beautiful. My only qualm was that it was not loaded with pickled vegetables and jalapeños. But the overall bread to filling ratio was satisfying. Ham, bbq pork, grilled chicken? Doesn’t matter. You won’t be disappointed with any of it.

The last Unilocal party I went to, a couple asian women told me to try this place. I am glad they did. The bakery does not look like much, but looks can be DECEIVING, I WALKED in they took my lunch sandwich order. Before I could complete my Unilocal check in and photo addition to their Unilocal my order was ready. They are take out only, its a small place with a few chairs to sit down on while they work their magic. I would recommend the #8 shredded pork/​meatball sandwich. They don’t go overboard on the meats so dont worry. The bun is fresh baked in their bakery. I had the thai tea which had a unique sweet flavor. It was not the typical green or black tea flavor. It was also a inexpensive lunch for less than 7 $ and about 7 min I was in and out. ***** stars.

This is one of my favorite place to visit when craving for some Vietnamese Banh Mi. They offer a buy 3 get 1 free banh mi deal so you must take advantage. For under $ 10 you will leave the place with 4 delicious banh mi in your hand. Definitely beats the price at the American/​Asian restaurants.
The bakery is quite small and cozy inside so it gets really cramped when they are busy. I suggest pulling up their menu and placing your order in advance over the phone. Once you arrive, order should be ready to go.
As for their banh mi choices, they are known for their chicken. The combination is my second favorite option. If you plan to order 4, might as well try one of everything. Aside from the banh mi, they also sell pastries which are usually buy 3 get 1 free as well. I like their banh tieu and raisin muffins. Grab a soy bean milk to go while you’re at it.
FYI: Refrigerate banh mi overnight if you don’t plan on finishing it the day of.

I walked into Quoc Bac in hopes of finding a plethora of Vietnamese goodies, such as che, xoi, pastries, etc.; however, Quoc Bac only offers banh mi and muffins.
But, what I do really appreciate is their buy 3 get 1 free deal where each banh mi is roughly $ 3. Back in Virginia, the deal is normally buy 5 get 1 free, which is a lot of banh mi for one person.
When it comes to banh mi, I don’t really venture out much; I normally only get the ham specialty one (which is a #1 at Quoc Bac). However, their thit nguoi sandwich is slightly different from the ones I’m used to. It did not offer the Vietnamese pink ham I’m used to. Additionally, the pickled carrots and radishes were thinly shredded, and I’m used to them being thicker giving it a more pickled taste. I know, I know those are just minor details, but the pickled veggies definitely make a difference! I also wish they added more cucumbers, cilantros and veggies in my bag (I always ask for it on the side) and less jalapeños.
Don’t get me wrong, these sandwiches aren’t bad — they’re just not what I am used to.
Also, this place is very understaffed so expect to wait 15 minutes for your sandwiches!
