Let’s face it– finding a mechanic in a new town sucks. You never know who to trust or who is trying to sell you a part or service you don’t need, especially when you’re a woman. But I took a chance on a local mechanic shop called Davis & Sons. The shop is in the middle of what has to be the worst part of Garland in terms of aesthetics. However, it’s worth finding this hole in the wall shop. The mechanic was very polite and right off the bat you could tell he was an honest guy. He explained to me, in great detail, what he was going to look at in my car and how he would try to fix it. Even though I still had no clue what he was explaining, I knew he wasn’t trying to screw me over. I sat in his tiny, old school mechanic’s office for about an hour while he looked over my car. Then he came in and told me my car was ready to go. He had promised by phone I wouldn’t pay over a certain amount and he kept his word! And despite how old fashioned the shop appears, it’s very clean(the cleanest in town he tells me) and they accept all major credit cards. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend(and you, my Unilocal friends!).
