I just wanted to say a HUGE HUGE THANK YOU to Nick the tow truck driver that came and picked up my «Charlie Colorado»…the transmission went on my BF truck and he ended up pulling into their garage. I have to be honest and say that I was skeptical about Anthony’s Towing because we were using AAA. I even read the review from a previous user out loud while he was calling. He requested that AAA not send Anthony’s Towing because the review was so horrible. (mind you, we were parked in THEIR lot. So after waiting an HOUR like AAA said that a tow truck would come — nothing came. He called back and they said it would be yet ANOTHER hour. At that point, we were debating on whether or not to just drive Charlie to the transmission place… within about 5 minutes, AAA called him back and said that a tow truck from Anthony’s would be coming in 15mins. At that point, I just said what’s the worst that could happen? We were both tired after working all day and it was getting later and later. So we decided to just wait.
Within about 10 minutes not one but TWO trucks came! The driver new exactly where the place was where we wanted to take Charlie and off we went.
I told the driver about the horrible review from 2013. He said he knew nothing about it (guess he wasn’t with the company yet)
I just wanted to THANK YOU NICK THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER FROM ANTHONY’S TOWING/S&S SHELL WHO WAS ALREADY OFF OF HIS SHIT BUT DECIDED TO PICK US UP — YOU ROCK!!!

This outfit owns Anthony’s towing. And Anthony’s towing is contracted to AAA. So when you call AAA for help in southern bergen county NJ, area, if stuck on route 80 (I 80) around garfield /​Lodi /​Hackensack, one of these guys will show up.
The SCAM is that after the driver does the chore, say jump start your car, he will than insist that AAA is not covering his services and harass you and ask for CASH for the service.
If you call AAA, the issue will NOT be resolved as the driver will insist that he has to call his office to make sure all is well. The driver will NOT let u talk to anyone IN HIS OFFICE and would NOT agree to talk to AAA. So essentially you have no choice. The driver will than say that AAA will reimburse the cash you are paying him. He will also insist on CASH. All in all this is a SCAM.
So I recommend if you call AAA for help and if you are in southern bergen country, make sure they DO NOT call ANOTHONY’s towing. S S auto in garfield, S S Shell and Anthonys towing are all the same company. Mention to the AAA operator that you do not want Anothony’s towing as you had a bad exp with them and relate this story, AAA is aware of it and will switch the contractor.
I complained to AAA about my horrific exp and they assured me that they will take these guys of their list but who knows. sharing on the web so you know.
