This place is very nice. In the Bay Area there are sooo many Phở places that I think the quality is mostly hit or miss. Phở Chopstix is all by themselves in Gardnerville and I think they know it. This means that the dishes/meals are meticulous. Everything is fresh and tasty. I have no complaints about this place. I highly recommend this place if you want something different as compared to the rest of the chain/fast food places that are in the area which will eventually give you a heart attack.

My first time eating here and it was yummy. I will for sure be back. Tasted delicious and not like sat out all day buffet food. Hot, fresh and delicious. Definitely be back! The thai iced tea was a great drink with our lunch. :)

Just so everyone knows, this place got a 71 out of 100 by a local health inspector. Moldy food, No hand washing, incorrect food storage and prep. Eat here if you dare.

Great variety of food. The phở is done very well with consideration of my biwnf from seattle and variety of phở restaurants. I recently got the chicken curry and enjoyed it except all i wanted was more curry sauce. Good local place for Vietnamese and chinese food.

Went here for dinner after snowboarding one day. It was nice having a hot bowl of phở after an exciting day on the mountain. There was no wait so we were seated promptly. Unfortunately, we had to retrieve our own menus since none were given to us. We ordered the egg rolls, a bowl of phở, and a chicken soup. The egg rolls were just ok. In fact, it looked and tasted like they were the frozen ones you buy from Costco. We were not impressed. The phở, on the other hand, was actually quite good. The broth was flavorful and there was a good amount of beef. The chicken broth was very good and seemed to have quite a bit of toppings. Overall, the soups hit the spot, especially on a cold, winter day. I think if the service was a little bit better, the restaurant a little cleaner, and the egg rolls way better, then I would rate it higher. However, if I’m in the area again and in need of phở, I probably would return since the price is reasonable and the soups were tasty.

My family and I went on a family trip to South Lake Tahoe last weekend. We decided to stay at this town in Nevada called Gardnerville which is about 20mins from South Lake Tahoe. Town was nice and quiet, not busy and hectic like South Lake Tahoe. For dinner we decided to eat at this place. We got tired of the buffet and fried food place setting. I’m so glad we came and we enjoyed the food. I had the chicken phở from here, I would say that was best phở I’ve ever had. On our next South Lake Tahoe trip we will back to this town and coming back to this place. It’ll be nice if they can have this restaurant here in the Bay Area(SF).

I have eaten here twice before and planned on going this week until I saw the health inspection on Dec 22. They had a score of 71. Spoiled food, no workers washing their hands etc. See for yourself . I will never go back

Easy to find. Clean. Not busy on a Saturday Afternoon. Reasonable prices on Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. Had the spring rolls, shrimp. Good and fresh. Has Beef Phở and too was good. The sides of veggies are the right way to serve phở, not adding them in the kitchen. Let customer add veggies. Good tasting Phở will just a little grease on top. Add hot sauce and you never know. Suggestion: side of sliced jalapeños and cilantro

Im going to give Phở Chopstix a four star review for now. The reason being is that the food was so different than any other Asian restaurant I have visited that I actually need to go back and try them again. One of their main focuses is Vietnamese style cooking including a wide variety of Phở and other noodle dishes. Included in their menu are several familiar Chinese favorites. I went there for their lunch special which includes main dish, choice of rice, lumpia style egg roll and choice of soup. Egg roll was great. I had fried rice with my meal which was a good choice. Here is where things change. The hot and sour soup was excellent but not what a traditionalist would expect. Chicken broth based, something else I couldn’t quite put my finger on and all the regular trimmings. It was so different but good. Additionally I have the same comments for my main dish. Mongolian beef was my choice but it was like no other I have had. The base Mongolian beef flavor was there but there was something extra. There was an extra in the flavoring but the main difference was that there were sweet peppers used in the dish instead of a lot of green onions. Great addition, tasted good but so different. The food was excellent in quality and value but had a Vietnamese take on Chinese food. I found this place while on my quest for good Chinese food in the Carson Valley and was very surprised. I’m going back again, hopefully for the same experience.

The employees are courteous. The restaurant is tidy. Service is fast, even take-out orders. Prices are good, and portions are huge! Very good flavor. I love their orange chicken & egg flower soup.

Best Chinese food in the whole area(I’ve even driven to North Carson). We get the Orange Chicken, General Tso Chicken with chow mein, and Crab Rangoon. It’s always really good and the service is awesome!

Well as much as I usually love this place. Tonight we arrived before 6pm sat awhile. Got served water. Eventually had our order taken then proceeded to be COMPLETELYIGNOREDBYTHEENTIRESTAFF for over 45 minutes. Everyone who came after us was being served. I finally caught someone’s attention and asked where our order was. He acted like he could take our order! He finally asked who took our order. As suspected, they’d never put it in. OMG. We left. VERYDISAPPOINTED!!! What a waste of a perfectly good Friday evening!

45 minutes after arriving, and watching everyone else get served, we FINALLY got the attention of our waiter. He walked away and scuffled around without communicating. We figured out our order had never been put in. So we left. If you get the younger guy or girl, service is great. But the old guy we got needs to be fired. I’ve seen problems there before, and I think it was him.

In general the food is always pretty good here. The pad Thai is excellent. Only a couple of times have I caught on off night. I would say it’s $$ instead of one for price though.

Today I got my usual, the spring rolls with pork(seriously…you need to try these), but I wanted to try something new. It was a really hot day so I wasn’t really feeling like anything super hot, soupy or greasy. I decided to give #42 a try(Dried Vermicelli Noodles with Flame Broiled Chicken and Eggrolls). I am so glad I gave this a try. To put it in simple terms, it was like a HUGE spring roll in a bowl. It was exactly what I needed, not greasy at all, fresh and refreshing. Don’t be fooled by my pic, this bowl is huge and has a lot to it… certainly worth the price.

This place is awesome! This place is the best place for Chinese in the Valley. I work nearby, but have never looked at it. I walked in– huge surprise– very nice. The lunch special is $ 6.75 and it is very good. The service is ridiculously prompt and they get the food out to you very fast. The wonton soup was very good– the vegetables in the soup were still crunchy and fresh– which is rare. This is my new favorite lunch place!

Great service, clean place, nice booths and good food! I had the combination soup(chicken broth) and my boyfriend had the rare steak/meatball phở. Mine was the winning soup, I would order it again. The phở was ok, we have had better, but it wasn’t the worst.

Bad… just bad. The restaurant cleanliness and atmosphere were on point and the staff was very friendly. The food on the other hand was a completely different animal. I had the combination phở(31A) which is my usual at any phở restaurant. I love the Vietnamese meatballs and the tripe. The broth was bland and the noodles were impossible to eat with chopsticks as they kept falling apart(a sign they had been cooked way in advance and refrigerated. If you have ever eaten left over spaghetti you know what I am talking about). As is standard in most phở establishments, the combination is only offered in the«large» size. The portion size was what I have come to expect as the«regular» portion in any other phở restaurant I have eaten. Barely any noodles or meat. My children had the chicken fried rice which was absolutely abysmal. The second it was delivered to the table my wife commented on the off putting smell. The chicken was rubbery, flavorless, and had an almost boiled quality to it. The rice was overcooked and extremely greasy. My wife had the barbecue pork fried rice. The pork was burned and dry and again the overcooked rice was swimming in a pool of oil. Now on to my biggest complaint. MSG! I am allergic to one food item and one food item only. Monosodium glutimate. Upon finishing my meal I immediately began a violent allergic reaction. I have only ever reacted this way to MSG. My four year old daughter who also has the allergy immediately asked me to run her to the restroom as she felt that she was going to vomit, Needless to say we threw out the leftovers and will never return, Very disappointed as I would have loved to have phở close to home. Sadly I will be making the drive to Phở Country in Carson City. Which is also not the best phở but beats the pants off this place hands down.
