Really have enjoyed the food each time I’ve gone. Would give full five stars but they have terrible hours for anyone not an early morning person — Lol!

I think the reason this place gets good reviews is there are very few options for breakfast locally. It’s just ok, the coffee is awful and the place looks and feels dirty. We sat at the counter one day and watched the cooking — order up process … all set after seeing that. I have not been back since.

This place is so good the best breakfast place in Gardner and probably the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Serving size are huge and the pricing is awesome .
The reason I am not giving this place a full 5 star review is due to their hours and lack of parking. I’ve come here twice during their open hours and have been turned away because they were closing early. The parking lot only holds 6 cars tightly so you have to park on the street which can be busy in this residential /​downtown area.

I have eaten here so many times and loved it.
The last time I ate there my pancakes were dusgusting! They put old browning bananas in my pancakes. To try and cover that up they overcooked the pancakes and the bananas were black.
Once I cut into the pancake I saw the old bad bananas… I tasted it. and it was terrible!!!
I asked for new ones… and the old blondish owner (?) yelled at me in front of the customets telling me «they were fine». Then, she should have eaten them!
She asked me if I was gonna eat them and I said «no» She told the girl behind the counter «not to make me fresh (unburnt) pancakes.
I would NEVER have guessed she was the owner… if she is… she has «No Class» and doesnt know how to treat customers.
I would not recommend them, unless its on a day grouchy rude lady ISN’T working.

One of my favorite breakfast places. I was never a huge fan of going out for breakfast, but once my boyfriend introduced me to the Hen House, I decided it was worth it. There is always a wait for breakfast on the weekends. I’m not the best at being patient, but I will wait to eat here. The food is quality, delicious, consistent and comes out pretty quickly for how bustling it is. The staff is pleasant, efficient and seem to work together quite nicely. The only downfalls that I can think of is that it’s cash only so you have to hit the atm first if you don’t carry cash (like me), and here and there you wait a while longer than necessary when people sit and chit chat well after their plates are cleared and bill is paid.

This spot is a wonderful place for a delicious, cheap breakfast. They specialize in eggs and know what they are doing. On weekends you may have to wait a few minutes for a table. This greasy-​spoon is a hidden jem.

Perfect portions for an even better price. This place hit the spot exactly with me. They are cash only but I had a complete breakfast for 2 under $ 20. We got there around 9am and immediately had a table. While we were leaving a half hour later (that’s how fast the food comes out) it did look like there was a little bit of a wait. Staff was very nice and courteous with prompt service. I would definitely come here again and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good breakfast.

I have been here a few times and each time you have to wait a couple minutes for seating. I ordered two eggs over easy, hash, and toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the hash was your average canned hash nothing homemade. They have baby seating and most customers are very happy to see a young child. There is also bar style seating for those going in alone for a quick meal. The wait staff is friendly and fast, the restroom is a little dated, and the décor is on a high level of kitsch. Overall it’s worth your time and money to check out this place for a great breakfast for reasonable prices.

Great staff the old man owner is a riot very sociable staff and very cheap. Can eat a great hangover breakfast for 5 bucks what a price! I judge my breakfast in the eggs Benedict and it’s the best I’ve had in years!

Best breakfast in Gardner… hands down. Try the biscuits n’ gravy. It’s truly delicious. Parking is sometimes a challenge and it does get quite crowded. Prices are reasonable. Waitstaff is friendly and efficient. Not a huge fan of the cash only policy or the one person bathroom that when the door opens you have to be careful not to hit someone eating breakfast… but we still go there a ton.
