I don’t know what happened to this place. They used to have one of the best Korean-Chinese food is Gardena. I ordered Jja Jang Myung, and sweet and sour pork. Jjq jang myung was okay(used to be really good) and sweet and sour pork was so bad that I had to throw it out. They were so many fats on the pork… On top of the bad food, the waitress was so rude.

The jja jang myun(noodles in black bean sauce) is better here than at Chul Ga Bang in Torrance but too cornstarchy. The tang soon yook(sweet and sour) only comes in pork despite the menu offerings in beef, pork and chicken. Get the sauce on the side and enjoy the crispy bites. The kang bbong(hot and spicy) shrimp was okay. The sauce was good but the shrimp was not crisp and got lost in the sauce. They offer the traditional Korean Chinese food and is better than the other places I’ve tried in the South Bay. Parking is a bit hectic in the plaza with the upstairs parking with 20 – 30 minute limits but longer term parking is available underground.

Not sure how the food tastes yet, but the person on the phone that receives orders is not polite whatsoever. She raised her voice at me when I asked what’s good, telling me how would she know that. Doesn’t seem like the restaurant has good service.

Jin Jja Roo(adverb) kinda loosely translates to «Totally; Truthfully.» So if something is bomb, one would say«Jin Jja Roo Matsheeddah» meaning something along the lines of «Totally Tastes Delicious» This place«Jin Jja Roo» fucking sucks… I ordered a(Seafood soup with deep fried rice and vegetables). I really needed something soupy and was enjoying the first and second spoonful when I saw something off with a piece of broccoli. I took it out of the soup and examine it what appeared to be a white film covering the crevices of the inner core of my broccoli. I split it open and there was black mold. I couldn’t believe my eyes which averted back to my bowl to discover a fucking GARDEN of shitty black and white moldy broccoli in my food. I AMSERIOUSLYNOT exaggerating… I took all the broccoli out and the server asked what I was doing. I told her that she served me Mold Soup. Both the owner and my server were in denial. They tried to give me some excuse about broccoli turning color when you cut it with a knife. I wasn’t fucking born yesterday, and I was just going to let this go until they started treating me like I was a moron. That wouldn’t happen unless(a.) it’s old as shit(b.) It’s old as shit and moldy(c.) your knife is covered in mold and shit and you used it to cut the broccoli in my soup several days ago. YOU’RENOTGOINGTOTELLMETHATTHEBROCCOLIWASFINEWHENTHECOREOFEACHPIECEWASPITCHBLACKENGULFEDIN A WHITE, FILMY, MOLDY, MESS.(I have snapshot of them before the server came to take it away. I didn’t post it right now, but I may later. I’m pissed, but I’m not trying to shut them down or anything.) BUT A FUCKINGGARDEN, I TELLYOU. A GARDENNN!!! Instead of being apologetic, the owner was completely nonchalant about what happened. He took out a bag of produce containing broccoli he bought today. I dunno what that was supposed to prove. Why didn’t you fucking put the fresh broccoli in my soup instead of the shitty ones so that you can save yourself from a bad review? I had to ask them to replace my food with a shitty bowl of Jjajang myun because they honestly were going to just try to brush it off… They didn’t offer first… what the fuck is going on??? I didn’t even finish half my Jjaa jang myun. It was ok tasting, but what wouldn’t taste good with a half cup of fucking msg mixed into it. I got such a stink-eye from my server that I was convinced I was eating Jjajang myun with kitchen staff spit sauce. I couldn’t do it. The broth of my soup was clear, and that’s how I discovered the shit quality of the vegetables in my soup… But Jjajjang myun is black… Who the fuck knows what they put into that shit. Their bathroom is through the back kitchen area. If you’re ever there, walk through the back and take a gander at their work area and see if you still have an appetite. I knew I should’ve just walked out in the beginning after using the restroom… I jokingly DID mention to my buddy, when walking back to my table, that we should just go eat pizza next door. Next time, I’m going with my gut and staying the fuck away from this place.

My family’s go-to spot for a quick lunch whenever we have a craving for jja jang myun. A small hole in the wall place and the owners have changed quite a bit but the flavors are there. Much better than the Chulgabang on Sepulveda in Torrance in my opinion. In the same plaza as Gu Jip, Love Letter, and Quickly’s!

Good place for ja jang myun and sweet & sour, friendly service My go-to place for ja jang myun in the South Bay. Yes, it does not compare to the ktown places but it also saves me from the 405 traffic. The young waitress is also very nice and the food hits the spot. Another plus is that the meal comes with all the sides that I expect(yellow daikon, raw onion and black bean paste). Check out my photo for hours as of early 2015.

Food is decent. If you’re craving Korean-Chinese food, this will do. Got the jjam-ta(jjampong & tangsuyook). Jjampong tasted a little bland, could’ve used more flavor, but other than that, they give you a good portion. Tangsuyook wasn’t bad. Wish it was a little more crispier and the sauce wasn’t as goopy. It’s a very small restaurant, so be prepared to wait if you come during dinner time.

Not my type of restaurant but I feel like it’d be pretty good for those who like Korean-Chinese food. I got the noodles with the black bean sauce, kind of like the Chinese version of zha jiang mian. I also got the sweet and sour pork but I felt like it was mainly just fried and not so much pork. Price is really good especially for the size, under $ 10 a person and I couldn’t even finish the whole thing. But after a while I didn’t even wanna finish the food because I was tired of it. but my bf loves this place! Wouldn’t be back unless my bf truly is craving it.

Ever since the change of owner, the service and the food quality has been degraded… I noticed that they didn’t even put seafood on the dish that would normally would have it. Even if they do, the ingredients are not fresh, it seemed… I wish they focus on quality, not on just making money.

Decent Korean-Chinese restaurant in Gardena. This restaurant is really small which seats about a little more than 10 people at most. Because of that, you might have to wait during lunch/dinner time on the weekends or so. Their Jjajangmyun or black bean noodle is decent for the price but I would probably say their best dish is their Spicy Jjajangmyun which is $ 8.99 for a very generous portion. Its pretty spicy but its pretty good. It has lots of veggies like onion, mushroom, squash and as well as pork, tiny shrimp and calamari. I feel like their spicy level varies though. Last time I had it, it was spicy enough to keep myself eating it but when I had it today, it was way spicier than before. My lips felt numb because of the spiciness. However, I am not a fan of their Kung Pao Chicken. When I first got it, I was amazed at the portion for the price. But as I was eating it, I noticed something very unusual. The actual chicken meat is very very minimal and their battet is humongous which seemed to be made of sweet rice because it had sticky texture rather than crispy, crunchy texture. So I kind of went further to actually see every piece of Kung Pao Chicken, literally majority of them had 1⁄5 of chicken meat and rest of them were all just weird batter. So it may look big and youre thinking its chicken but its not. If you dont buy my words, you should order it and see it for yourself. Service is very attentive nonetheless. But I would probably not recommend anything here besides their spicy jjajangmyun.

Not a fan of this place. My friend had the spicy seafood noodles and the noodles were too well done and I tasted too much msg from the soup. The fried rice I got was close to being horrible.

Just got finished having some eats from this spot. The bf and I ordered chicken fried rice, spicy garlic shrimp and pot stickers. Sadly, the food is over priced and not that great to say the least. Ok, so the chicken in the fried rice was hard and over cooked to death, the garlic shrimp was so flavorful! So it blew when the coating was gelatin like and the shrimp over done. The pot stickers were yummy, however they forgot the dipping sauce. I had such a craving for Chinese food and this food was barely edible. Boooo! Btw, the garlic shrimp was 17.00!

From the outside, this place would probably make a really lackluster first impression; but after giving it a try, this place turned out to be quite a gem. To summarize, I would label this place as a hole-in-the-wall that serves really good Korean-Chinese food… in generous portions… at reasonable prices. For those that have never had this style of food, I would consider the most commonly ordered items to be the noodles in black-bean sauce or the spicy seafood soup with noodles; I also see a lot of people ordering the sweet and sour pork, which I’m not particularly a huge fan of. I personally enjoy their fried rice and kkangpoong sae woo, which is like a battered shrimp in a spicy sauce. Just to add on the list here, the fried dumplings are also something that I like to order if I have people to share it with; like I said, the portions are fairly large so, in the case you order too much, you may have a lot of leftovers to deal with. Another cool thing about this place is that they do like half/half options in case you want to try both the rice and/or noodle dishes I listed above. The food itself is pretty heavy stuff, so don’t plan on doing any strenuous activities immediately after; you’ve been warned. The restaurant itself is really small and doesn’t have the nicest décor if that kind of stuff bothers you. Also, the clientele is generally Korean, not to play any racial stereotype cards here but, you may get the occasional glance if you’re not rocking the same common facial features; don’t worry, it’s not to intimidate you, they’re just surprised you found one of their congregation points(Okay, this is as far as I’ll go with that). Anyways, you’re trying new things, you’re here to stuff your face, you’re wallet won’t be left with lint, go you.

There are just some food that is just NOTASGOOD in the states as they are in Korea. Example: jokbal(pig’s feet)… and jajangmyun/jjambbong. I absolutely hate Chulgabang, and Bokhaeroo isn’t that great either… So I’ve been on the lookout for a solid place to fulfill my jjamjja(fusion of jjambbong and jjajangmyun) cravings. This place did the trick. My boyfriend ordered the ganjjajang, which is different from the regular one because it’s the sauce is stir-fried one more time in the wok after it is simmered down. It was delicious! Honestly much more flavorful than all the other places that serve this in the area. I ordered the haemul(seafood) jjambbong. I loved every bit of it, even though it was obviously chock-ful of MSG. The«NOMSG» sign just means that they don’t add in MSG themselves, but it doesn’t mean that the store-bought items they use doesn’t already contain MSG. The seafood one comes with a variety of seafood, from blue crab to mussels, clams, and shrimp. It’s a GREAT deal, too. For under $ 20 we can get both of these… AND it’s way too much food to finish too! We also ordered tangsooyook(sweet and sour pork) to share. Now, I am a severe critic of tangsooyook… as my mom makes the BEST tangsooyook. Not even Korean restaurants in Korea can beat hers. That being said, it’s not TERRIBLE here. it’s not as crispy as I like it, and the sauce isn’t as good… But it’s better than other tangsooyook I’ve had over the years. I’ve heard good things about their kkambbong saewoo(sweet and spicy garlic fried shrimp), but I didn’t try this yet. I’ll definitely be back to try that next time!

My favorite Korean-Chinese Restaurant in South bay. They advertised«NOMSG» so I believe it. I think they have the best spicy seafood soup(jjam-bbong)! This place is not spacious, but very good for lunch with friend(s). Their jeng ban jja jang myun is really spicy. I mean really. To the point where I had to order something else.(I really can’t eat spicy food so yup yip). But it was still yummu and I enjoyed every plate that we ordered. I usually get a jja jang myun and tang soo yook combo. It is very convenient Korean-Chinese place. They also do delivery. So I highly recommend this place. Try it! You will like it :)

If you are not Korean and you have never tried this Korean-Chinese fusion, I highly recommend that you take the time to visit this small restaurant called Jin Jja Roo(the name, literally means«Really» in Korean). Taking the influence from Chinese cuisine, Korean-Chinese fusion is meant to satisfy the taste buds of Korean people and is not truly Chinese food. Chinese people will be surprised to taste JaJang Mien(Black Bean Noodles) taste completely different than their native Jajang Mien, which is much more sweet and less onion-y than their Korean counterpart, thanks to the fusion. There is a dish in this restaurant that is truly delicious, warranting, in my opinion, up to a 2 hour drive to eat at this restaurant soley for that dish. It is called«Kanpoong Saewoo»(Shrimp) or Sweet & Sour Shrimp, that you must try! Wow. If you are not Korean, you will be surprised at this incredibly flavorful dish. Shrimp Kan Poong Sae Woo is basically deep fried shrimp in batter, coated with a spicy, garlicky, fermented red pepper paste with a chili oil. Imagine a spicy, sweet, garlicky, sticky, gooey crispy outside with a juicy, fresh shrimp meat inside. Wow. Just WOW.

I’ve been here about 3 times last week! The prices here are very cheap and you get very large portions. If you are in the mood for Jja Jjang Mien or Jjang Bbong or even Sweet and Sour Pork, you don’t have to compromise. They sell combos where you can get 2 half portions of their most popular dishes. So far I’ve tried their Jja Jjang Mien and their Sweet and Sour pork and they were both very good! There are only two downsides that I’ve noticed so far. First, the size of the establishment is very small. Second, a lot of the older Korean customers who go there are very rude and feel very entitled.
