My friendly neighborhood chicken spot. Besides the point that I love yard bird(i.e. chicken), Church’s is tasty. This particular establishment is well staffed. The people working here are friendly and ALWAYS accommodate me when I come. If they don’t have something, they make quick substitute suggestions and I love them for that. I have having to haggle with people because they don’t have something that I want to order. Love that chicken at Church’s!!!

«The Lobby is Closed due to Leeks». This sign was posted as you entered. Since when did this relative of the onion cause problems? Oh — they mean“leak” because of today’s rain. They had chairs blocking access to everywhere else though it wasn’t leaking there. It was only leaking at the one open cashier’s window. I was hungry so I ordered but made sure I didn’t get leaked on. But their bathrooms were not accessible so I couldn’t wash my hands before I ate in the car in the parking lot. I did pour some bottled water on my hands and wiped it with paper towels. Sheesh. I had the $ 2.99 special — two legs and one thigh. Of course, with a side of mashed potatoes, it came to $ 5.17. What? Is there a potato shortage? Anyway, at least the chicken was hot, hot, hot. That means, it just came out of the fryer. This ain’t diet food as the coating traps a lot of grease but is flavorful, crispy, moist, and delicious. I didn’t quite finish the second leg. But I could feel my blood pressure rise and my arteries clog with each yummy, crispy, messy, crumbs all over me bite. I hadn’t had good fried chicken in months, so this was satisfying. It didn’t need any leeks or even leek soup. The food was definitely 4 stars, and the restaurant management was 2 stars so i’d have to rate this particular Church’s a 3.0 star total. The parking lot is weird. You car slopes up to park, so if you don’t put it in PARK or have a manual transmission, your car could end up on El Segundo Blvd. rolling backwards. There are lots of car repair places nearby. Other than that, they must be new here because it doesn’t look tortured by the taggers yet.
