if you’re looking for a «bang for your buck» meal, this is the place for you! PACKED for dinner but we were able to snag a table no problem the broken rice dishes are HUGE(plus each dish comes with a soup) so i would suggest sharing one with a friend and customizing it so you each can choose the type of meats you want to add on top —com tam(broken rice) with shredded pork, steamed egg, grilled pork, and grilled pork chop: the meats were pretty good, grilled pork being my favorite OR you can get one dish to yourself and have enough leftovers for another meal, either way it’s a win!

My boyfriend and I always gravitate back here if we’re craving cheap, Vietnamese food. Foods: The mien ga is BOMB, and so is the bun bo hue! The banh beo is also very delicious! The foods don’t take long to come out at all. Service: Exceptional. Doesn’t take long to get seated and for them to take your order. Out of all the times I’ve been here, I’ve probably only had to wait one time. Love the food! Affordable and yummy!

The Phở is surprisingly good for a Com Tam place. Even better than some of the restaurants specializing Phở . Their grilled pork in Com Tam, however, is overburnt. That’s a cancer risk. Tried 3 times, all burnt the same.

This restaurant is best for big family that each member wants to eat different food. They have almost everything. For me, I only come here for… *Xoi la dua: 4/5, smell so good *Mi kho dac biet: 5/5, the egg noodles are so thin and so chunky. *Bun rieu: 4⁄5 *Banh beo: 4⁄5 great price. And these are what I tried and don’t want to eat again… *Nem nuong: 2⁄5 skip this *Com tam: 3⁄5 not much special *Phở fillet: 3⁄5 *Bun ca:3/5 *Ga di bo: 3⁄5 meat was over cooked *BBH: 2⁄5

I can’t believe I’ve never written a review when I’ve been coming here for years! I only do to-go orders here but that’s just my preference, place is nice and clean. This is my family’s favorite place to buy the grilled marinated pork(thit noung), just FYI you can order it by the pound! Take it home, and eat it with anything you want to(even brown rice if that makes you happy lol) Today I had the Bun bi thít nuong Cha goo, pork, egg rolls, and vermicelli. I added an order of egg cake cause it’s on the list of top chá’s, it’s mandatory if you’re ordering a broken rice dish. Their nem Cuong is good too, spring rolls. Also love that you don’t have to fight for parking like every other local Vietnamese plaza.

Cheap, good food and big portions. No wonder they always have customers even at off hours like 2pm to 5pm. Has best value in their broken rice dishes, plenty of meat, shrimp wrapped in tofu is very tasty so is the Korean bbq beef. The sauté’ pea tip with garlic is excellent. Service is better than average for a typical Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant.

After stop going to this place for over a month. So we decided to give this place another shot. Oh no. We have ordered a bowl of Phở, Com Tam, bun Bo Hue. 1) PHO: tasted so bad, everything is scaled down. Soup tasted like water and MSG, heavy MSG! Meat: tasted like it has been in the refrigerator too long… if you can cook you know how it tastes like. 2) Com TAM: rice is old. So it has the smoked from the old rice, not the fresh smell from the rice any more. It as so dry and tasted so horrible!!! Cha: it falls apart after the first cut, tastes so salty. BBQ meat: tasted like they just grilled a lot and put in the refrigerator then when we ordered they just heat it up. So it didn’t have the taste of freshness any more… 3) bun Bo Hue: horrible. To sweet like Che! Wtf. Just wondering these owners know how to cook? Or they just hire the chief to cook for them, BUT once the chief leaves they are Fu***k,. That’s not how the business should run… In conclusion, if Ya’all don’t wanna waste your time with friends and family then don’t go to this restaurant cuz the food is so HORRIBLE!!! It’s not bad or OK, IT’s horrible. Well, cuz I can cook, so I know what is good or bad VS some peps out there that that know what the good VIETNAMESE food suppose to taste like. I can’t stand with all others reviewed said it’s good.

There’s a great selection of food offered here like: Khai Vi(Appetizers) Xoi(Panda Sticky Rice) Com Tam Hoac Bien(Broken Rice/Vermicelli) Banh Hoi(Vermicelli Patties) Phở /Bun Bo Hue(Noodle Soup) and many more. The food is decent, but there are other restaurants that taste alot better. Think of this as a handyman that is good at doing basic things, but has nothing that it is best at. Come here not for the great food, but for the convenience, huge food portions, and great prices.

I’ve been here a couple of times and I have to say this restaurant is pretty solid. On my most recent visit, I had the phở tai filet mignon and man, the meat was so tender! You can’t really beat the price either. The broth isn’t the best but it’s still pretty good. Bun bo hue here is also decent and the nem nuong isn’t Brodard status, but I enjoyed it. Service is fast as well! Great place if you want a quick lunch with satisfying food.

Thuan Kieu Noodle & Grill use to be my favorite Vietnamese & broken rice restaurant. Last time I was there I complained to the owner that their Mens restroom is really dirty and smells a lot until this day it still is. Anyways I came with my buddy for dinner and I had the following. Shrimp & Pork Spring Rolls 4⁄5 simple and delicious paired with their yummy peanut sauce. Grilled Shrimp Paste Spring Rolls 2⁄5 Sorry the grilled shrimp paste is lacking in the flavor department. Dac Biet Phở(Combination Phở) 3⁄5 If its combination phở how come theres no meatballs? Also the broth was kinda on the salty side but I manage to finish the whole thing. Red Rice & Fried Chicken 3⁄5 This this would be better if they put some seasoning on the chicken. Ice Tea 3⁄5 Your average asian ice tea. Servers 4⁄5 I always get good service even though I don’t speak Vietnamese. Overall Thuan Kieu Noodles & Grill is a good place to eat with the big portions they give you. On the downside their mens restroom is still a problem but hey I came here for the food and its really affordable even though it’s cash only. After eating at Vans I’m bumping one more star to Thuan Kieu Noodle & Grill Why you asked they got better dipping sauce for their meals and also they got way better pickled veggies.

Phở is really good here! The filet mignon beef slices were so delicious! So soft and tender. I’ve been craving for it again. Definitely a good place for Phở! Atmosphere is nice and decent. Service is good. Good location near supermarkets.

Great delicious consistent food. Not only do they serve rice dishes but everything else including, bun, phở, noodle soup dishes, and spring rolls. All the rices dishes and vermicelli dishes are customized to your liking. My go to is the bun thit nuong cha gio, and a glass of fresh coconut. This place is always busy but even when there is a wait it shouldn’t be that long, people eat quick here. They also care about the quality and presentation of the food, its probably the only viet restaurant I know in Orange County that the dishes come out looking beautiful lol

This place suck now. Overall is my brother and I got diarrhea after we got home. The chicken feel raw. And the bun no hue doesn’t feel like nun no hue, too plain. Service was meh. The server have our drink on the tray and told«get it» while he jump to another table.

Their rice dish isn’t 50% off. After eating the steam rice with tilapia filet, cucumbers, pickled cabbages/carrots on the side, I was really thirsty. Good thing they provide ice water free of charge, but after drinking it all including a few ice cubes, I was still thirsty. The fish was not flavorful, but it wasn’t dry. The egg and vermicelli cake was lukewarm when it came out with the rice and fish. I couldn’t finish the egg cake. The total came to be over $ 8. I think the reason I was so thirsty afterward was due to the MSG in the fish marinade as I did not pour the fish sauce that was provided on the main dish itself.

I’ve always liked this place as a solid choice for basic Vietnamese fare. Many restaurants have a wide selection of basics on their menus – Phở, Bun, Com Tam, etc. – but not all of them can make all of the dishes acceptably. Most restaurants tend to specialize, and that’s ok. Thuan Kieu is nice though because they do everything reasonably well, so when everyone in my party is craving something different, I come here.

CASHONLY! Yes that shouldn’t be a surprise, but I don’t normally carry cash so it’s worth mentioning first. Friend of mine brought me here for the Com Tam … we got the one with 7 meats. I’m glad she could speak Viet, but I think I can come here without a translator cuz the menu is in Vietnamese n English. Service is pretty quick, and while there was a decent crowd on a Wednesday night, the place was large enough that it could accommodate everyone, not like some other asian places that leave little room to move around. The broth they brought out at the start of the meal was flavorful … it had that deep flavor you get when you let bones n herbs simmer long n at a low temp for hours. My mouth is watering just thinking of it … when you’ve cooked soups or stews like that, you know what I mean. I could’ve just had a bowl of that and been happy. Anyhoo, all the different meats with the accompanying fish sauce were awesome … but for a chick that digs fried food, fish cake n grilled meat, that dish could do no wrong, really. There are many places to eat in GG and WM, but I’ll def be coming back here to try everything else out. I wish they were open later than 9pm tho. Btw … I like how they put the check stub on the table with the utensils they bring over, so you can go to the cashier at your own leisure. But wish they’d bring a pitcher of water, as they tend to stay away after you’ve been served. Overall, it was a good experience.

Love coming here for their phở and their 7 or 10 meat vermicelli(Com Tam), which comes with beef, sausage, shrimp(in the 10 item combo), fish cake, shrimp cake, bean curd, and egg rolls, surrounding broken rice. Yummy! The menu is tricky. Even though they mention 50% off, they add $ 1 for weekends, holiday, take out or large size upgrades. Just read it carefully so you don’t get surprised with the bill later. The service here is very fast and decent. There’s a waitress that always looks so depressed. I think her hair is dyed purple/blonde. Her sluggish, apathetic attitude make the experience slightly awkward but other than that, I love coming here for the broken rice Com Tam dishes!

Went here for a Sunday brunch, place wasn’t crowded. Private parking lot is available. Here’s what I ordered: — 7 course rice plate: steamed egg, deep fried fish, fish meatloaf, grounded up pork, charbroiled pork, shredded pork, pork meatloaf. Also pickled veggies. Comes with side soup perfect for cleansing your palate and in between bites. Perfect to try a bit of everything. — Pork spring rolls: tasty, crunchy in between. Almost comparable to Brodard. — Rice noodle with fried chicken: dry style. Noodle cooked perfectly, loved the sauce. — drink: pennyworth drink(leaves). Ask for no sugar. Bitter but refreshing. Overall pretty good place, good food, quick service.

I was in search of a good Bun Bo Hue spot because the spot I used to go to before has been disappointing and eureka! I found it here! Who would have thought that a place that has their Bun Bo Hue on sale every single day would be soooo good! The veggies that they provided with the dish was also so new and fresh!(Look at my picture!) I would highly recommend it because everybody in my family including myself thinks it’s the best in OC right now! Oh and the interior design of this restaurant is a lot cleaner that most Vietnamese restaurants, I think. The customer service is great and the cashier was very nice and helpful. Definitely recommend this place and definitely seeing myself coming back!

A friend introduced me to this place Sunday night. He had texted me earlier and said«let’s meet at Thuan Kieu on Brookhurst». Of course, to me, this meant the«old school» Com Tam Thuan Kieu that’s literally on Brookhurst — not this one which was at the corner of Brookhurst and Westminster in a shopping plaza that the last time I’ve been to — several years ago — was just empty storerooms. The interior is bright, airy and spacious. Unlike the older location on Brookhurst, there are many different tables and the tables have some room in between them so you don’t feel like you’re eating WITH the party next to you. For more Westernized folks — the interior/floors/tables are actually clean-looking. The food is great — I ordered a Com Tam Bi Cha Nem Thit Nuong(see picture) — and it came with a side of nuoc mam(fish sauce) and a bowl of broth. The portions are great for the price($ 7.50 for my plate). You get a ample scoop of warm broken rice(com tam). The meats taste fresh and are tender, well marinated and perfectly seasoned. Service is good — what you’d expect in a typical Vietnamese Restaurant. They take your order quickly and the turnaround time is about 5 minutes(from the time they take your order to getting you your food). CASHONLY! One major plus about this place is the vast parking lot. One of my biggest peeves about Little Saigon is the tight parking and worse — the drivers that don’t check their mirrors before they back out of a space — or will take your spot even if they see you waiting with your blinker on… but none of that parking stuff here — TONS of parking!
