The Rustlers are one of ASQD’s most active, fun, and marvelous SQUAREDANCING clubs. Their beginners dancers class starts each January and is on Tuesday evenings at 7:30PM. Line dancing is often offered, too, starting at about or on 7:30PM. Your first square dance class is often free here. Just ask before you assume you need to pay and shell out the bucks. Who can beat that? What a fun loving, hug giving, and super friendly social group this is! You won’t run into half of the diva dancer attitudes here that I’ve all too readily encountered at Ballroom dance groups like in WCS — West Coast Swing and Argentine Tango. As you learn to dance here with The Rustlers, you’ll find the more experienced dancers are very encouraging and helpful to new dancers and the learning process. Once you have learned to dance, you can attend the Leprechaun Ball, OCCALLERS, and Spring Fling dances each Spring. What fun! Casual dress, jeans n khakis, are encouraged. Closed toe/covered heel shoes, sneakers are ok. So are dance shoes, just not salsa style dance sandals. People’s feet can bump up against each other quite easily while Square Dancing.
