Came here recently with a friend visiting from Italy and we ended up here for cheesecake, drinks, and tea. I’ve been here on several occasions and have failed to write a review for reasons forgotten. I highly enjoy this lounge and it is probably largely due to the fact that the lobby of the Hyatt is so well-designed with indoor open-air feel. The giant glass atrium walls and open floor plan with Starbucks and California Grill all in plain sight all add to the overall sensation of sitting in a glass menagerie of locals, tourists, and good food. Networks offers very comfortable seating with umbrella coverage that hide little lights inside. Nice touch. Service here has always been good and friendly and reminds of the days when I used to work in the bar area of a resort hotel. Great conversationalists with open personalities. Takes a very specific personality to do well in the bar area. Menu for the bar is limited but you can easily request the full menu and they are happy to bring it. On a separate occasion, I came and ordered the nachos with fried bread. I also requested that sliced carne asada steak be added to the cheese dip. All requests were met and the taste was phenomenal. Smooth and light cheese with a hint of pepper and spice. The steak was tender and flavorful and the fired breads were dusted with powdered sugar. Wonderful. On my most recent visit, we focused more on the end of dinner rather than the middle. Dessert ordered was an Oreo cheesecake which was very rich and extremely sweet. I’m not a fan of sweets but I am a fan of Oreos and the one bite that I had hit the spot. My friend made short work of the rest. He also ordered some tea drink with alcohol called the Orange County something or other. I didn’t try it but it was reported to be quite good. I had a regular hot tea and it was pleasant. Final dessert was a 15 year Tawny port. When I asked the server what ports they had, he offered to bring tastings before I made my selection. Huge thumbs up for that. We made our selection and ended the evening with a shared glass of port and comfortable conversation. Memories alone will bring me back but the service and atmosphere should be enough to draw you in.

This lounge is right in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Orange County, between the two towers. It has a commanding view of the front doors the check-in desk, and the entrances to both towers. it has free wifi, great cell phone reception, and a triple bar with big screen TVs. The triple bar is three long bars, with chairs, but a bartender and drink service only at the one in the back. They pack them in here. We dropped in for a diet Coke and a glass of sparkling mineral water in the late afternoon. They served us premium quality mineral water, and charged us very mercifully. Thanks, guys! According to the web site they have a pretty good happy hour.
