Nancys Hair Salon

I don’t know how good Nancy is with hair, but I wanted to give her a try since she has good reviews and is closed to my house. My aunt and I came on a Sunday after trying to call the salon many times but no one answered. When we came, she said she was booked with appointments so she told us to come back or give her a call later. Then she called us back later that day and asked us to come in the next Sunday at 8am. My aunt agreed and made the appointment. We came 5 minutes before 8 and the salon was closed. My aunt called her cell number and she said that she already had two other appointments because she confirmed with us the day before and we didn’t want to come. But seriously, I NEVER received any phone calls from her nor did my aunt. The worse part was when we called that morning, we saw her sitting in her car and she told us she was driving… What the heck??? What kind of business is that??? If you really really want to come here, expect to call many many times to get an appointment and even when you have an appointment, make sure to confirm it with her the day before. My aunt and I are both very disappointed and we’ll NEVER try to come here EVER again.

Nancy does an excellent work for my hair color. She is meticulous and very friendly. She does not rush her customers. She always takes time to make them satisfied with her amazing skill. I will definitely come back if I return Southern Cali.

We came in a bit late (one hour before closing) hoping to see if someone could do a quick trim for my boyfriend. Although Nancy (sole worker at the time) was busy with another customer, she made sure to ask the customer if it was okay if she could work on my bf while the customer waited for her hair to dry. We really appreciated her obvious desire to please her customers. My boyfriend was able to get his hair cut, and he liked it! I was estatic since my boyfriend usually complains about his cuts/​service. I’d likely bring my boyfriend here again.

Today at 1p was my first time at Nancy’s Hair Salon. My best friend highly recommended it to me, so even though I’ve gone to another salon for years, I was definitely convinced after seeing so many wonderful reviews!
Let me say this much. I’m in my 60’s now and grew up in an extremely wealthy family around Balboa and Newport Beach. The Salon’s I frequented were around $ 150 — $ 200.
Well, I have to say that Nancy was not only the kindest, most sincere, and sweetest hair stylist, but cut & colored my hair even better than the gals whom I used to pay $ 200! I couldn’t believe how good to me she was, as many other stylists do not treat me very well. She really took her time with me and made sure that I absolutely looked my best. Upon returning, I can’t believe how many people complimented me — in so short span of time!
From now on, Nancy will always be the hair stylist I go to. She’s the absolute best, sweetest, and we even had a little impromptu ballroom dancing afterward. I just can’t say enough about her skill and character. She is the best — flat out!

I’ve been going to get my haircut here for years. Know exactly how you want your hair done, bring a photo, and Nancy will make it happen. She takes her time and is a great value. Definitely make an appointment as she is very busy.

This was my first time going to Nancy’s. A good friend of my recommended me to go, and I am so glad I did. Even though the salon is not the fanciest, Nancy the owner/​stylist has magic. I wanted a haircut and highlights, and Nancy beyond exceeded my expectations. I was so hesitant to trust anyone with my hair, but she knows exactly what she is doing. She asked questions and made sure to follow exactly what I wanted. Her prices are more than fair too.
I definitely recommend everyone to this salon. Nancy is amazing and gives you plenty of time. She is very mindful when booking her appointments. I’ve officially made Nancy’s Hair Salon my new place!

Nancy’s the best! In the past I’ve gone through cheap Bolsa hair cuts to ~$ 35+ barber cuts. Nothing’s was as consistent and had the quality of cuts as hers.
No gimmicks here; no whiskey shots, beer, coffee or massages, just a good old fashion cut. I go for the Undercut style which she does very well.
Appointments usually needed (and WELL worth it) and very rarely does she takes walks-​ins as she is the only person there. Bring in a picture example of the cut your looking for as a recommendation!
She puts time and care into every haircut and as others mention she will NOT rush to accommodate early check-​ins for appointments or those non-​appointments walk-​ins. She takes her time; 40+ min cuts!
Was referred here by my brother and already have told other friends and family about her. I’ve gone back at least 5+ times now. Nancy’s friendliness and quality will keep me coming back.

Nancy was very friendly. She had a wide variety of pictures of celebrities haircuts. I had showed her a picture of Jensen Ackles on The TV show Supernatural. Even though my hairs not as nice as his, she really took her time and did her very best to try to get it just the way it was in the picture that I showed her. And it’s right next to my house. So I’ll definitely be coming again.

$ 14 long hair. Appt needed, cash only. Sweet lady. Super cheap cuts, layers and I got bangs. She’s awesome!!! My hair even grew out more beautiful than the original cut. I judge haircuts by how the style grows out.
Again, she’s VERY BUSY. Very sought out. Cheap haircut. She goes off of magazine pictures of celebrities and such. And she’ll really cut it just like it. My layers and V back shape cut grew out beautifully.
Understand, she’s a mom and a one lady team. Tip well please… cause you know her prices are actually less than what normal salon tips would even be. Yes the place looks run down or older but her cuts are way better than alot of salons I’ve been to.

I love Nancy! She’s so sweet. Though I moved to Ohio, I still wait until the holidays to come home for my haircuts.
She’s meticulous, detail oriented, and most of all, she COMMUNICATES. I love that she asks me exactly what I want, then shows me where she’s going to cut before she actually does it. I have been to many salons where they just glance quickly at the picture and end up taking off more than I’d like.
For $ 14 (Women’s Long Hair Cut), she’ll wash, condition and style your hair. That is amazing! I don’t think you’ll find a better deal elsewhere. The appointment for me usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Even after she cuts my hair and has styled it, she’ll go over everything and make sure it’s even. She really does put a lot of care into her work.
Definitely make an appointment though because she’s the only one that works in the salon. She’s a busy person — she fields calls, makes appointments and manages the whole shop herself. Be forgiving if she takes some time to get to you — she’s worth the wait! :)

I had an appointment and she left me waiting one hour because she took a guy before me. She went over and over and over and over cutting on strand at a time ignoring my appointment. O offer to leave and come back… NO! I won’t wait. really. she did my hair in 20.

Garden Grove has its fair share of hair salons. Tried out 5. This is hands down the best one by far and the cheapest!
Went here on a Monday after calling for an appointment. I actually didn’t expect much from an $ 8 hair cut, but boy was I wrong.
After showing her a pic from the internet the cut I wanted, she got down to business. Nancy takes her time and gives attention to details. Her styling after the cut wasn’t really my type, but after I got home and I shampooed & styled it myself, I was amazed at how great it came out. It was better than a $ 15 cut I got.
Guys, look no further. This is where you will get the best $ 8 cut anywhere, and as I’ve mentioned, it beats out even a $ 15 cut. Make sure you call to make an appointment as Nancy is quite busy.

I’m knocking her down because of her unprofessional way of dealing with customers. I called for the first time making an appointment. She seemed to rush me even though I said I have a week in open space and time. She sets me up the next day 245pm. I showed up at 253.
Nobody was there, I called nobody picked up, no sign saying when she’ll be back. I waited 30 mins+ just to see if she’d be back.
I came home disappointed so I called to tell her about the appointment, sure I was 8 mins late but shouldn’t she have called back? I left a message with my number, no returned calls, unprofessional. No stars if possible.

This woman is a magician and a total sweetie pie. I had a major hair disaster at my previous stylist and that un-​named person will no longer be tending to my fro. I sought Nancy’s assistance to get my do back to normal so I could go out in public again.
Thorough, skilled and meticulous are first what come to mind when it comes to Nancy. She epitomizes what the American dream is all about, emigrating to the U.S., opening up her own business and building a loyal and happy clientele (trust me, her phone rings non-​stop) in an unassuming strip mall. She takes her time with each person, chatting you up and making sure you get exactly what you asked for. I asked for a Brad Pitt in Fury and guess what, I still look nothing like him but at least my hair does!
She even takes the time to straight-​razor the edges of my hair, all this attention and service for an unheard of $ 7 bucks! Yes, for the cost of a Starbucks latte you can get a kick ass hair job. The woman even came in on her day off/​holiday to hook me up! I’m so happy I can actually leave my house sans hat and embarrassment now. Cam on Nancy!

What a great place for a haircut. Not only are the haircuts super cheap ($ 14 for long hair!!!), but Nancy is very meticulous about her cuts. She has a huge book of different haircuts and is very good about mimicking the style you want, so if you have a picture of a haircut you like, bring it!
Nancy cuts your hair exactly as you describe it or as how you showed her in the picture and also gives you updates during your haircut in case you’re the type to freak out about getting your hair completely chopped off.
The only cons here is that Nancy is crazy busy, so it’s best that you make an appointment. Don’t walk in because you will wait a long time. She is ALWAYS booked. The other would be that because she’s so detailed and meticulous about her haircuts and styles she takes a LONG time, so I would set aside 1 ½ to 2 hours for a haircut here. The upside to this is that she never rushes herself even when there are other clients waiting for haircuts. She always straightens your hair first before she styles it to make sure it’s even, but like I said, she is good at what she does and does it well. Highly recommended!
