I normal run down liquor store. I bought a couple of the hot spot tickets for fun… I always crave for sweets… So I ran over here when my mom and her friends were hanging out at Tu Do and grabbed myself a couple of beef jerky and chocolate bars and went back to the restaurant.

Your typical traditional Liquor store, with an emphasis on Lotto Sales. There is table inside with a few chairs if you want to hang out and play Hot Spot. There is a Scratchers vending machine as well, or you can by Scratchers at the front desk as well. As far as other items, typical Liquor store stuff, plenty of drinks, snacks, beer, wine, hard liquor, as well as some T-shirts and Beanies. There is an ATM Machine on site. Finally, there is a selection of Mature Magazines and DVDs available for sale. They don’t open super-late either. I stop by here for a few Lotto tix whenever I go to Phở 54, located in the same plaza.

I was told they USED to carry Beerlao, so I, being the ridiculous optimist in all things that should be regarded pessimistically, stop by in hopes of finding a glimmer of hope during my quest for Beerlao in Orange County. Fail. Jerry’s is a cozy shop that needs a bit of tidying up, but otherwise a typical liquor store. Stop in to buy a drink or two and walk to the Vientiane restaurant next door.

If you have ever wondered what it is like to shop at a California Lottery Retailer of the Month, shop at Jerry’s and you will wonder no longer. It is in the same strip mall as Vientiane Thai Laos so you can stroll over here and get your beverage while your food is being prepared.(I didn’t ask them whether they allow BYOB but it seems a fair question.) Jerry’s is like any other slightly run down liquor store except for a large area near the entrance with several tables which are filled with elderly ladies and gentlemen who appear to do nothing but rub scratchers and file lotto tickets all day long. This perseverance pays off: Jerry’s is the home of a $ 689,000 Lotto winner. Bring cash by the way because, unless you are God or they trust you, you are going to be charged a buck extra for the use of a credit card.
