Howard Kunihiro, DDS

Simply the best pediatric dentist around! Fun, gentle, fair, and extremely knowledgeable. His partner, Dr. Lew, is just as wonderful! A great office staff and dental duo.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Kunihiro and this office. The office is now located on the second floor of the right side of this building (if you’re looking at it from the street). Go up the stairs in the front right side of the building and they are the first door on the left.
I saw Dr. Kunihiro for over 15 years. Dr Kunihiro was my dentist and orthodontist. One stop shop… I could come in for a cleaning and have my braces adjusted the very same day. No need to drive to two different places. The dental hygienists here are amazing and so great with kids.
My brothers and I never were afraid of going to the dentist or orthodontist as children, we actually looked forward to it! (Looking back now, I’m sure our mother loved that she never had to drag us to the dentist, she sometimes had problems getting us to leave haha). We got to play video games & puzzles while we waited for our turn, they made the appointments fun & easy, we got to pick out a new toothbrush afterwards and we got to pick out an awesome sticker too (now they have a basket of small toys to pick from). They were great and never wanted to do any unnecessary procedures just to run up a bill. Dr Kunihiro is not in it for the money he really enjoys being a pediatric dentist/​orthodontist.
Sadly, I grew too old for the pediatric side of this office and have since turned into a patient of his brother-​in-​law Dr Lew who handles the adults on the other side of the same office. Dr Lew is great! I still see Dr Kunihiro in the office sometimes when I come in for my cleanings, he still knows me by name and says hi.
The entire office staff has watched me and many other children grow up in front of them as long time patients. I have been coming to this dental office for over 25years. I know of some patients that moved away and still make a 4+ hour commute to see them.

One of the best dentists ever. Very fair and honest, this man put up with my teeth for over 26 years and I’m very thankful for that. If it was not for him my teeth probably would of turn to dust and I would have never improved my dental hygiene.
Growing up I drank lots and lots of soda and this man did amazing work on my teeth, no matter how bad my teeth were, somehow he got the job done perfectly, quickly and practically painlessly. There was never a dull moment during the procedure, I was always being interacted with, which made for a fun and safe feeling dentistry environment.
Went to him for all sorts of dentistry work, molars being removed, wisdom teeth being removed, cavities, fixing the quick patch work the military did to my teeth and so on, this man has experience and skill.
Dr. Kunihiro is great with kids as well, I mean he put up with me growing up that must deserve a medal.

I’ve been having Dr. Lew who works with Dr. Kunihiro (an excellent pediatric dentist) and his staff clean my teeth for quite a few years now. Each time I go in I’m greeted warmly and leave feeling like a million bucks (that’s how good of a job they do cleaning your teeth). Dr. Lew is an honest dentist who truly looks out for his patients best interest. He’s often given me options to minimize the cost of the procedures I’ve needed. If you need a new dentist in the West Garden Grove area, Dr. Lew is the one.

This is the best denist we’ve had. My ex-​husband was in the military so we moved alot around the US. This denist has excellent bedside manner and is vey, very personable. The staff is just as warm! You will be very happy here! No games, no extra dental work that you don’t need. VERY HONEST DENIST!!!

Dr. Kunihiro is very good with kids and a great dentist overall. The staff is courteous and professional. My family has been going to Doc for years and he is really good at putting the kids at ease. I would recommend him if you are looking for a new Dentist.
