I’m still sitting here eating as I write this. This place is so good! My cousin’s based in Korea again so seeing his snaps of the food had me craving. This totally hit the spot. We redeemed the free cold noodles which is perfect for a hot day. I have to say, it was my first time eating it so no other basis to compare. The noodle texture was slightly hard to chew, but it was so delicious. I didn’t mind the extra work chewing. Not sure if that’s how the texture is regularly. We also had 2 orders of the chicken and vegetables with hot sauce. $ 19.99 per person which is a bit pricy, but seems standard to Korean standards. The dakkalbi will fill you up(this is coming from someone who eats for ten). Once you’re done with most of it, they use the sauce to make Kim chi fried rice. Best part, they cook it all for you in front of you. I can be lazy(like today), so everything about this place is perfect. The sides are pretty good too. Think my friend had about five refills of each. Our server is a sweet lady! She made the visit very enjoyable. Can’t wait to come back already and I haven’t even left yet

Update! As I come back here time and time again I try to force myself to order new dishes. The kimchi dumpling rice cake soup is phenomenal. I love the veggies. And the dumplings are so flavorful. The kimchi Wang mandu is so flavorful you don’t even need to dip it in soy sauce. I have no doubt the next time I come and try another dish I won’t be disappointed :)

Came here for Father’s Day dinner cuz all the other restaurants had long wait times so came to try. This place explained why so empty. The portion on everything are so small. Starting with Bachan. Just a few pieces in each dish was so annoying cuz has to flag down the server to get refills. They got our orders wrong. The price was pretty Steep for the portion on theses dishes. They don’t give you much rice especially the food were All are on the salty side. The nanmyeong tasted pretty good starting at $ 9.99 per bowl that didn’t have much noodle in it. Was way less noodle than some of other pictures. Overall, pricy for small portions. Feels they are on the stingy side. Stinginess in giving out food will not have good business! First and last for us. Service was good though . Notice the owner’s excuse on every Unilocal reply… Busy, hot, crazy… Sold out… That’s what restaurant business should be able to handle. Price is steep for subpar food and small portion

Disaster! Went on 6÷20÷16− Me and my mom went there because morangak was closed. It said on the sign«nengmyun»!! Which is what we were craving! We ordered nengmyun combo with kalbi &1 spicy nengmyun. ** tasted horrible, because they don’t make the noodles fresh there! They used packaged noodles!!! ** kalbi… Did I really pay extra $ 10 for these super thin sliced 4 piece of galbi? It’s super ridiculous– im korean & I have gotten lots of galbi combos at other places and this was the worst!!! ** they messed up on bringing out the food out in order– so pretty much everyone was complaining around us– our order too, came out after the table that ordered after us. But we decided to stay quiet Cuz literally everyone in the restaurant was complaining! Remember!!! First come first serve!!! The table next to us ended up leaving Cuz there food came out wayyyyy later than other 2 tables that came after them, and when the food finally came out they took a bite… Then complained to owner and left. I wish I had the guts to do that!!! I would’ve done it too!!! It was that bad! My mom and I will not return! And we jokingly made a bet that they will go out of business in 6 months.

Korean cold noodles are perfect for a hot summer day, but if you’re hoping to get the noodles cold on a busy day, good luck. A restaurant in chaos. A restaurant that likely wished a large crowd would come in hungry but without the staff to supply the service. Food: cold noodles should be cold. My wife’s naengmyun had noticeably fewer noodles than what is normal. What should be an icy naengmyun bath was 100% liquid. It’s like the food was prepared sub-par and then left at the window for around for 10 minutes, and then it was served. Pretty bad but edible. +0.5/2 stars. Service: one legitimate server for the entire restaurant. She’s running around trying to get food out, but one person can’t do it all. It was apparent when people started asking for their checks that food was not coming out, tables were not being cleaned. 30 minutes from order to food on the table. I like this restaurant and the people but I can’t honestly say it was good service. 0⁄1 star. Restaurant: The one thing they got right was their air conditioning. Heat wave savior. +1/1 star. Would I go back? Yes, but not during lunch or dinner time. Maybe in between. If it’s as good as it normally is, I’ll even come back more than the next time. Time will tell. +0.5/1 star. 2 stars.

This is my new go to place for Korean! I usually would go to kaju for tofu but hate the wait and the prices have gone up slightly since the remodel. Everything has been good especially their cold noodle and Bim Bim bap. Whenever we eat there it feels like moms cooking. Service is great and I’m pleasantly surprised every time we go in.

The restaurant was fairly empty when we came in on a Thursday night. Got me a little worried but I’m always down to try a new restaurant so forward I marched. Service is definitely better than other Korean restaurants we’ve been to. This is based on the one server but then again she is the only one here today. She was always more than happy to refill our side dishes. She checked on our water. She gave us more napkins before being asked. She constantly asked if we liked the food. She cooked both the entrée and the kimchi fried rice for us. She was just great! You can tell she’s trying really hard to make sure you’re happy. Food was good. Portion sizes we were smaller but they were all very good. We will definitely be coming back to eat the same dishes and to try other dishes. What my stars mean: 5 Must try. not necessarily perfection cuz there isn’t such a thing right? 4 Recommended 3 Ehhh. Try it if it’s convenient 2 Not recommended 1 Stay far far away

I think there was a tv in the corner that was playing a Korean Game Show… sounded fun Had Mul Naengmyeon()… OMgosh! So much flavor! Also, there were soooo many yummy side dishes too! Mmmm There were 2 really nice ladies that were very helpful… We’ll be back when we’re out that way again! :)

This place was random find for me. It has been a long time since I dined in Garden Grove so I thought this place was still HamHeung Nengmyun place. I was disappointed that the previous establishment was closed and it was this place but I quickly looked up Unilocal and found out it wasn’t such a bad place after all. I had cold noodle and it was above average and deserves perhaps 4 stars at the most. However, what made me give them 5 stars was their service and their keen attention to their customer’s need. Because of their friendly service, I hope their business grows into more success in the future.

Came here today with a friend and had such a good experience! The staff was really nice and attentive, and the food was great :) Dumpling soup(can’t remember the Korean name): Broth was good and it wasn’t too salty! It came with a good amount of noodles and three big dumplings. Dukbokki: My favorite part of the meal!!! The rice cakes were perfectly chewy and the sauce was nice and spicy. A little bit too sweet for my liking, but still delicious nonetheless. This is going to become one of my favorite places to get dukbokki! The meal also came with SO many side dishes! My favorites were the spicy cucumber and fish cake, but there were other good ones too :) I would definitely recommend this place if you’re craving Korean food. There were a lot of options on the menu such as hot pot, cold noodle soups, Korean BBQ, and more!

My sister and I like getting together to stuff our faces but we rarely have cravings for the same things so we take turns picking places to go to. She is a neng myun monster. I am not. She is more in the OC area now so she’s been scoping out new Korean places to go to and once she found this place, she was dying to have me go with her. She hates going by herself especially when it’s totally empty and the waitress is basically there to serve you. I can’t rate the neng myun because I didn’t have it but my sis got an extra bowl of sari(extra buckwheat noodles) and it also turned out to be free. I wouldn’t really recommend it. It wasn’t spicy, although another table was complaining it was too spicy. The server overhead and she brought out extra soup to lessen the spice. The server was actually the one who made the meal pleasant and even thought I didn’t enjoy the food too much, I wouldn’t mind coming back to keep my sister company since it works for her.

This is a small mom and pop shop. They have great service, great food, and great prices. I had the nengmyun there and it was pretty good! Loved the banchan and the man who runs this place is super nice. He’s super attentive and speaks to you with the friendliest tone. If you check in via Unilocal, you get a free soda! Will come back to try other dishes. Parking was decent, but we went on later in the evening during non peak hours so I can’t tell you how packed it gets during dinner service.

I’ve been here twice and the food got better each time! Disclaimer: I’m not Korean so I don’t know what these food dishes are supposed to taste like, so I’m giving a rating according to how I taste them! This restaurant is fairly new but it already had good reviews and ratings on Unilocal that I was willing to check out. It’s a nice small family owned restaurant in GG with warm and cozy décor and really friendly staff! Dishes I have tried so far: Naengmyeon: chic mul and chic hwe ones(non spicy and spicy without raw fish respectively) the first time I tried it(chic hwe) I didn’t like as much. It was a bit bland and the sauce is too sweet but The 2nd time I tried the chic mul one and it was sooo good! The tastes of each ingredient in the dish blend together sooo well. Probably the best had so far. — kimchi fried rice: good too. The kimchi taste is there so it passes! — tteokbokki, or spicy rice cake: delicious as well! The rice cake is soft but not soggy, chewy but not hard and the chilly paste tastes just right! — seafood pancake: delicious but I think more chives and less onions would taste better for me. But overall it’s a good dish as well! I love to support small local restaurants that taste good so definitely come back for more Korean goodness!

Was craving cold noodles so thought to check this place out. It was a little hard to find for non-Koreans since they have no English(only Hangul) on any signage, plus it was pitch black since the parking lot lights weren’t turned on yet. It was 7 pm on a Wednesday and my bf and I were the only ones in the restaurant the whole time we were there. Not sure if it’s because they’re new but hopefully they get busier since the food was great and I want them to stick around! We got the kalbi mul neangmyun combo and a spicy cold noodle to share. The cold broth was flavorful but I’ve had better. I really loved the cup of hot soup they give you with your order. That was so delicious! The kalbi was very good — perfectly marinated and cooked– though I thought the portion was smaller than most places. The service was great– Being the only two people it was like our own private staff, lol. The man and woman who seemed to run the place were very friendly and attentive and kept refilling our soup and banchan regularly. Can’t wait to go back to try a lunch special. So happy to have found a cold noodle place so close to home.

If you’re in the area, possibly the best spicy cold noodles and side dishes I have ever enjoyed. I got the Chic Saeki Neng Myung. The deep red sauce looks intimidating, but is not super spicy. Sweet, sour, and spice knock you upside the head. I enjoy strong flavors and loved it. Might not be for the timid tongued. The fish part was a little bit chewy but still enjoyed it. Thinly shaved beef and pickled veggies accent throughout. This dish is not like a soup, more like a delicious cold Korean noodle dish. Try the Chik Mul Neng Myung if you like milder flavors. And don’t forget to add some Korean mustard to go with it. This dish is like a noodle soup dish but cold. The side dishes were amazing! The lotus root dish was sweet, the potatoes were soaked in this amazing Korean mirin and were semi firm without being mushy. The pickles were kept cold with ice and were really crunchy fresh and just right sourness. The staff provided excellent service for our group of four. I only wish I could kidnap the chef and our waitress would adopt me.

This is my new go to Korean restaurant in Garden Grove! What I really like about this restaurant is they have a good mix of hot and cold entrees. It is similar to Mon Ran Gak in terms of offerings, but without the Korean bbq and the long wait time. Food I have tried here Chi Mul Naengmyun– Best dish to eat on the hot summer days we have been having. Noodles are on the chewier side. If they offer to cut the noodles for you take it since the noodles are chewy. I prefer this over the one at Mon Ran Gak. Definitely recommend this to first timers! Thuk Mandugook– Pretty good hot dumpling and rice cake soup, not the best one I have(my favorite is Myung Dong Kyoja in Ktown) Dolpan Beursut & Bulgogi– Huge serving! My friend can usually clean his plate, but he couldn’t finish this. The bibimbap was delicious. Mul Mandu– Dumplings for appetizer. Really tasty! They also have complimentary yook soo(beef soup broth) to drink like Mon Ran Gak. Service is good! My mom doesn’t like spicy food and the lady offered her another sauce to put in her bibimbap for her to use instead of the spicy hot paste that is normally used. Food didn’t take too long to come out either. Location is on Garden Grove Blvd off of Brookhurst Way. The restaurant is a good size with lots of seats and tables. They close at 8pm Monday to Saturday and are closed all day on Sunday. It’s in a small plaza with decent amount of parking.

Service can be a little slow but they were sweet. It’s getting busier and the kitchen can’t seem to keep up but they’re trying. The mul naengmyun and the kalbi definitely is bomb. The broth isn’t too sweet and the noodles were a bit chewier than I was used to. The kalbi was sticky and perfectly grilled, not too chewy, gristly or fatty… I just wish the portion was bigger. It was literally 1 piece of kalbi cut up for $ 9. The bachan also was less than desirable for 1 person, they provided 6 – 8 varieties for other tables and 2 for lonely me, however, they did refill it with a different one later on. The serve yourself soup was good, but hello MSG! It made me even thirstier after drinking it, since it tasted like beef bouillon stock cubes. All in all, I hope service gets better because it took them 30 minutes for a lunch of 1 order, but the food is great so I’ll come back.

Pretty good service. They have self service beef broth, and the broth is good quality. They have good galbee too but as a dish, it was lacking a bit in quantity. The mool nangmeun is better than the bibim nangmeun in my honest opinion. Both come spicy but the broth for the mool is on point while the bibim is somewhat lacking. Overall a decent nangmeun galbee house. It’s better than standard. A good start to its opening. Has good potential, I hope it holds.
