Dohenys – Formerly Tartan Room

First things first, this place is nothing special or fancy. A typical dive bar consisting of pool tables, dart boards, an electronic jukebox (that doesn’t always have up to date music, but who cares. Music is music and you’ll find something worth listening to). Lots of regulars come here– a lot of employees from nearby restaurants and downtown Disney. And that’s what makes this place great. No drama, every one gets along. Cindy and Aaron always take care of us. Expect to get carded– Aaron will get out his flashlight to make sure your ID is legit– that’s good business. Just enjoy your time here, make some friends, and drink up.

My fiancé and I have relocated from NJ. Doheneys reminds us of the local bars that we’ve grown up with and love back home. The owner Paul and the other bartender Cindy are great and make you feel like family right away. The food is amazing, they have karaōke Friday nights and the drinks are flowing. They have it all! We love it there and I’m sure you will too.

My boyfriend and I started coming to Doheny’s a while back with some friends who had been regulars for a while. Immediately felt welcomed and the laid back atmosphere is really enjoyable! We are not ones for rowdy college type or club like scenes so Doheny’s is the perfect dive for us! We normally go on Friday or Saturday nights and the bartender Cindy is awesome! Super friendly and always smiling. Great place to play pool, have some drinks and not have to worry about some random drunk person trying to start a fight! My kinda place!

My fiancé and I met here so this place has sentimental value for us. What I like is coming here and feeling at home. True, it’s a dive and true, it could use some upgrades. But it’s a cool place to come hang out and shoot some pool. The clientele is mostly regulars, so the vibe is mellow.
I would give it 5 stars but I don’t like the jukebox and up until last night they never ran the air conditioning. When I put money in the jukebox and pick my songs, it will play a couple songs then play random songs. It really annoys me because I feel like it should play the songs from the person who spent money. Sometimes I don’t hear even one song that I payed for. I’ve been coming here for 2 years and it gets uncomfortably hot inside, especially in the summer. But I guess enough people said something because last night they had the air on and it was very comfortable inside while we were playing pool.
A dive is a dive. Dives are not fancy– you get what you get. But what I like is the atmosphere, it’s not a college or club feel.

Great place. Great food. Great drinks. Great people. The only ones that dislike this place are the people without ID’s and people that don’t follow the bartenders direction (i.e. «Please move over someone is sitting here». Girl goes «huh your rude, I’m leaving») sorry this place isn’t a bar in DTF or Friday’s.

Love Doheny’s!!! Food is incredible! Drinks are awesome! Best of all prices are just right! This place is quaint… you don’t have to deal with most of the typical bar scenarios. This place sucks. Owner is racist. Kicked my coworker out for not reason. Never come here. It’s cheaply decorated. And racist. Don’t support this establishment.

Wish I could rate this shitty place lower. I read the other reviews and I agree. This place sucked but I tried giving it a chance. It smelled like weed and urine and the jukebox was sounding like static. They decorations were tacky. They had sheet metal screwed into the wall. The bartender was super rude and charges a lot and gave me no receipt. He carded my friends and I but not other people that walked in cause they were wearing Kings jerseys. This place should be burned down for the insurance money.
