Merillon Avenue LIRR Station

While I do agree with another reviewer that parking is atrocious (there’s a very very good reason for that — this is one of the few lots that doesn’t require a permit!), this lot is actually quite lovely albeit small. It was recently paved (like 2 years ago) and situated in good neighborhood (Garden City & Garden City Park). Also, 7 – 11 is located across the street (get ur morning coffee on).
The major cons at this stop is the small lot (on a weekday you need to get there for parking at 5AM), and no taxi service. If you need taxi service, stop at NHP or Mineola!
The major pro for the regular commuter is the no permit requirement. If you can’t find a spot in the lot, you’ll need to park in the industrial/​commercial area or residential area but beware of the signs (I think the first 3 blocks on the GCP side/​Side A of the train have parking rules). Do not park on the Garden City side/​Side B of the train — that side has a permit requirement!

The parking lot is atrocious and I often see cars cornered in. There really is not enough space to park.
The ⁷⁄₁₁ across the street is REALLY convenient. As is having the train overpass Nassau Blvd rather than tracks. Howver, having to merge just under the trestle is annoying as hell and causes traffic.
Not to mention the platform usually smells like piss. I know there’s not much to do about that, but only go into the plastic huts if the cold/​wind is too overbearing.
Other than that, it’s my station and carries me to and from the city without worrying too much.

Came to this station one time to go to a job Interview… the station is ok…
