Highly recommends to one who wants to have homemade food. Neehees is best at its typical street food taste of made at an Indian street food and Krishna Restaurant is best at its typical street food taste made in Indian homes. We tried Mysore Masala Dosa, Puri Bhaaji and Dabeli. Flawless cooking by Indian aunts. The bhatura/Puri in the Puri Bhaaji plate wasn’t oily, the way I like it. About cost, it is very cheap. The 3 plates mentioned above cost us only 17 bucks. Ambience, not so good. It looks to me like an Indian snacks bar outside bus stations. Food type: Vegetarian. In nutshell: Cheap & Affordable Indian Vegetarian Street Food. Highly recommended!

Vegetarian’s heaven. So far everything I tasted here was amazing. Homely food. Decent prices. I always came out with a big fat belly after buffet. I kinda stopped cooking and started coming here more often nowadays.

The best food I have ever eaten. I came Sunday evening just before close at 8pm. I always check the bathrooms first. This one was clean. I ordered samosas, matter paneer, rice, chapati, mango lassi and some milk sweets. Great price at $ 13 for the lot. The food is served on polystyrene, the seating is old 60s diner style and you order at the counter. But don’t let any of that put you off. The food is fantastic. The samosa were great, the matter paneer perfect and the mango lassi thick and wonderful tasting — heavenly. I’m back again today for the same and it is just as good. Enjoy.

I felt like I entered a third world country restaurant. The food is decent, nothing special. The whole establishment is a janky restaurant and nothing classy at all. They use styrofoam plates and cups –___– and when they’re frying in the kitchen you’re eyes start watering because of all the frying. I honestly don’t know how this place is still running, terrible establishment and not dining in here ever again.

My husband and I ordered take out and were pleasantly surprised. The food is good and reasonable. We are both Fans of Indian food and recently moved to GC, so we are lucky to have Krishna near by. We are def. going to try the lunch buffet.

I really like this place. Truly homemade tasty food. The people are so nice compare to Nihi’s too and prices are reasonable than Nihi’s. I always order their big thali. I love their Gulab Jamuns. And most importantly its next to Patel Brothers Indian grocery store, Its like 2 things at one stop. PLease do try once you will never regret it.

Good dine in meal a few days ago. Flavorful food with large portions. I’d recommend trying the daily special if you’re new to this restaurant or type of food. I think the buffet is the best variety and the best value. There were some recent reviewers comments that I just saw about cleanliness. I wish more Indian restaurants paid attention to these comments. In general those comments about Indian restaurants are true. Not a single Indian restaurant I’ve reviewed here on Unilocal does a good enough job with that. In fact, all of them are very, very poor. I unfortunately have gotten used to that and judge them mostly on food and service. While Krishna Catering has gotten much better, there are times when it is way too hot and way too messy.(especially in the older section of the restaurant). Again, to be fair, many of the other Indian restaurants though are much worse consistently. As a reviewer, I will do a better job noting these concerns about cleanliness in my reviews of Indian restaurants.

Love the food, but the facility is disgustingly dirty, and the buffet is disorganized. The food is so good that I will continue to patronize, occasionally. I would patronize much more often if they replaced their filthy, drooping ceiling, replaced their filthy, bulging walls, steam cleaned their filthy floor, for starters. And restaurant employees should not wear flipflops!

Good Indian Food. I ate channa with naan along with biryani rice. The biryani rice was good except I have suspicions about the age of the vegetables. I would have liked to have seen green beans less shriveled. Food was properly seasoned. Downside is restaurant is not very clean. When I bussed my tray towards back of restaurant the smell of trash was overwhelming. It smelled like someone placed a diaper in the waste. I want to like restaurant more, but cleanliness is an issue.

This place is worst. Everything from food to service is horrible. I had Chinese bhel, which was nothing more than rice pulav over chinese sticks. Got sick. The décor and cleanliness needs improvement.

I tend to give extra credit to restaurants that take risks in food or location. For instance Asian food downriver will usually get an extra star. Krishna is all vegetarian Indian food in Garden City/Dearborn, surround by Middle Eastern joints! Unfortunately the school cafeteria inspired décor combined with just okay food means the most I can award is three stars. It was great to see the patrons were mostly Indian. You pay at the counter, get your own water(fill up a pitcher!) and bus your own table. If you feel the need to tip it goes to their Hare Krishna temple, or you can purchase a little book on yoga philosophy for a buck. I felt bad using styrofoam plates and cups but at least you know everything will be clean. This buffet is NOT for beginners. Only a few sauces are labeled, everything else is a mystery! I recognized deep green Palak Paneer of course, and there was a very good green bean dish that I had never seen before. Besides that there were only three other main dishes, a potato curry and two chickpeas. However there were three different soups, three different rices, a dessert and a literal BUCKET of berry lassi! Everything was fine except for these unusual pasta rolls which I did not care for. There was one thing missing that would have really rounded out the meal: naan. I don’t care if it’s not South Indian, chapati and papadum just don’t cut it when trying to soak up the goodness. Also there was no salad, just some cucumbers and spicy carrots. Definitely worth the $ 8 and probably a return visit some day.

Yummy and authentic vegetarian food.(reminds me of my visit to India.) Yes, the décor is out-dated, but this place is not meant to be fine-dining. Reasonably priced for portion size, lunch buffet is best deal and variety! Would go again!

Excellent food ! I really want to give 5 stars but I am hold on to one for poor décor. I love going to this restaurant. Their food is excellent. Their staff is also nice. It’s not a fancy place that has knife & fork wrapped in a napkin but their food will definitely remind you of home! While I recommend all their menu items and specials, I specifically recommend their lunch buffet.

Been going to this little place for about 10 years now, I swear. But first, you have to know about me, I am by no means a vegetarian, but have tried many V restaurants, Seva in Ann Arbor, most recently Inn Season in Royal Oak, and… they’re ok. Just not a big fan. This place ROCKS for V food. Or, unqualified, simply rocks. But here’s what you have to know. The place is NOT upscale. And I mean that in the same way that I’d say«legitimate»: with honor, with respect. I LOVE these places. It’s not about the decorations and table cloths.(There are none) It’s not about snarky menu descriptions(nothing in English here, awesome!) It’s not about fine china(styrofoam and plastic only, kids). No, this place is about V indian food, cooked well. Some would say the staff is standoffish.(When your order is up they ring a bell and I swear I jump up like Pavlov’s dog) But IMO, they’re simply legitimate hard working people, and for me there’s a language gap, so I always give them a break. And that’s easy when the cooks occasionally come out of the kitchen to offer worship at their shrine. I totally respect that. So. The food? Amazing. The buffet at lunch is always great. Buffet you say? Usually the second rate dishes cooked cheap? Nope, not here, all great stuff. But ordering off the menu also advised. The samosas, perfect. My favorites, and I’m gonna slaughter the spelling: Chole Bhatura(easy to remember, as it’s sung to the tune of «Hakuna Matada» from Lion King), a chick pea dish with amazing home made bread. Also the various Masala Dosa, curried potatoes/vegies in a wicked good crêpe thingamabob with dippin sauces that’ll leave you scraping plates and begging for more bread. And the exit strategy? Bus that plastic tray, pat your belly, and drive off feeling those spices warm your inner foodie. PS. It’s called Krishna Catering. Do they cater? No clue. Ask. Cheers.

I have always gotten good food from here at a reasonable price. After eating dinner here, you will not miss the meat. They only serve Veg. You can dine in, also. It is not uncommon to see people eating with their hands as they do in India. Only one word of advice for this restaurant — I know that his is how business is done in India, although the people taking your order need to know how to relate to their American customers, also.

My friends from India took my husband and I to Krishna for a true Indian meal. I absolutely loved the food– but it was tough to know what you were eating because it is a buffet and nothing was labeled. I tried everything on the buffet. I recognized a few things– the lentil soup and the aloo gobi. I love my spice and it did not cut it for me… it just wasnt enough. I had the same experience as most of the other reviewers– the place was just a little dirty. It reminded me of the food courts in Asia. I have to agree that the foam plates and plastic utensils are a good idea because I am not sure I would trust them if they were washed there. We drank water. There is a metal beverage dispenser in the back of the restaurant and you can help yourself to foam cups.
