Spring cleaning can be a heartily satisfying ordeal. After cleaning out the dirt floor basement from an winter of DIY jobs around the house, we needed to get our dump run on. How blissful to remove the junk from your life, and oh how burdensome this junk becomes when you have it all outside in a big pile. Fortunately, my proximity to Gansevoort allows easy access to Hiram Hollow. Pretty much all the crap you can load into a truck… they’ll take if for $ 15. We put our garbage, some guns for the shootin’ range after and cowboy hats in the truck. The dump is always a fun trip. You get to see everything thats been used, enjoyed, hated n’ soiled in a big pile. Today was busier than I had ever seen in and they were back out clear out to the road. Apparently we weren’t the only ones with spring clean fever. It’s actually a transfer station, so when you dump it, they move it to a secret location on the dark side of the moon,(some place in our beloved Adirondacks) where it spend the rest of time.
