Absolutely worst rental company ever!!! If you are looking for a condo go to vrbo and rent from an owner who cares about their reputation. This place is horrific. They are inflexible and unresponsive. No one is there during peak times or weekends. Have a bad condo and they will tell you read the disclaimer. Even the local owners know this company is a rip off! We have a favorite condo in Galveston but we will never stay there again (after multiple rentals per year for four years in a row) — not so long as the owners use this company. Two separate condo managers told us – any other agency would accommodate you — once for a check in ½ hour early when the condo was empty three full days in advance and once for parking for two hours in a condo with at least 100 empty spaces. The only reliable thing about this company is bad bad service. That you can count on from sterling. Try ryson in the same city. You can’t even begin to compare their effort to make your time in Galveston enjoyable.

My husband and I rented a condo through Claire at Sterling Realtors for our Honeymoon last weekend. The staff and condo at diamond beach was amazing! However, going through Claire at Sterling Realtors almost ruined our weekend. First off, she provided the wrong address in the «directions» email, so we were stuck driving up and down the seawall searching for the condo. After finally giving up on finding the condo, we parked our car at her office (we needed to drop our car off the night before our stay since our chauffeur for our wedding night was going to drop us off at the condo in another car the next day).
We never got a correct address from Claire or Sterling Realtors. We only got a correct address after calling the staff at diamond beach, completely separate from sterling realtors, who actually commented that several people who rent through sterling realtors get lost on their way to their condo. Then instead of Claire apologizing or admitting her mistake when we confronted her with the issue, she insisted that it was somehow our fault because she «has rented out over 700 condos in her career» and that «she has tried telling google to fix their directions to the condo.» Really?! She was blaming EVERYONE else instead of simply accepting her mistake.
Then the real icing on the cake was when we asked to be reimbursed for a taxi ride to go pick up our car at her office (remember, we dropped our car off at her office the night before when we couldn’t find the condo and we were now at the condo after our wedding chauffeur dropped us off) and she replied «NO ABSOLUTELY NOT!» I was shocked! So long story short, we were stuck paying a $ 40 taxi ride out of our own pocket to go pick up our car from her office when she was the one who provided the wrong address in the first place.
Don’t let this review scare you away from Diamond Beach Condos, but whatever you do DON“T rent a diamond beach condo through Sterling Realtors!

We recently stayed at a Diamond Beach condo that was rented by Sterling Realtors. The condo and resort were very nice. However, their housekeeping is not up to par with what they charge for the condos. They do not provide toilet paper (other than the paper on the roll) or trash bags. The blankets on all the beds were dirty and they do not put sheets on the top bunk beds. I know this information b/​c I emailed them to give them some feedback about our stay and that is exactly what they told me. We paid nearly $ 2000 for a 3 night stay in a 3 bedroom condo. Not to mention the air conditioning unit was leaking water on the floor through almost our entire stay. If you want to rent at Diamond Beach, choose another management company to rent through.

I’ve known Claire since the late 80’s, before Sterling Realtors. Since then, I’ve bought/​sold two houses with Claire and rented a great oceanfront house in Galveston over Spring Break 2013.
She and Chris are very in tune with their client’s needs and will bend over backwards to make whatever you need happen.

Do not use these folks to rent from or for property management. We found them unresponsive, refused to return some belongings left at one condo, wouldn’t return calls, and were rude to our friends. We use property managers and if you are allowing these folks to property manage your condo; think twice. They are not providing the service that you are paying for. We will never rent or deal with these folks again. Thank you Unilocal for allowing us to warn others prior to doing business with these type of folks. Integrity and cooperation is impertaive to good business… the Downings missed on both accounts.
