Great items. Love the vintage Valentine, Christmas and Halloween items. Bought quite a few old postcards here too. Love the old buttons, toys and clothes. I also bought some vintage kitchen items. Reasonable prices on most items.

Three or four rooms of eclectic local collectibles, some antiques. Owner has a good eye and wonderful people. Prices were fair. We could have spent all day talking to Marilyn who gave us some wonderful local travel tips and destinations. Thanks Marilyn, it is obvious how much you love Galveston(and Johnny Cash;~) Stop here now.

My boys, 13&10, & I were walking the Strand & my older son said, «Somewhere In Time! It’s an antique store! Cool name huh!!!». I was a little shocked that both boys were so anxious to go in & have a look around. After all, I’d have thought they would’ve wanted ice cream, candy, or to even go into the haunted house that is set up on the Strand. Antiques?!? I’m game!!! We walked in & the 3 of us just stared in amazement at all of the cool stuff they had!!! Weird to see a basket of coins for sale from Hurricane Ike, or the actual brown water line dang near at the top of the entry way where Ike left his mark. If you look above register back wall you will see where the insurance estimated the water line, but it was actually higher than what the estimation was. This antique store has soooo much. We were there over an hour & still did not get to see it all. One thing, affordable, that caught my eye… a Marine shirt! $ 35. If you look through my pics you will see me rockin it when I drove back down from 3÷16−3÷18. As another review stated, some things are over priced, but if you’re like me & you want something bad enough, the price sounds just right! They have silver salt spoons, wedding dresses, vintage purses, comic books, antique cooking utensils, Guess Your Weight Scales, costume jewelry, & so on. I will say I had to laugh, when I looked up at the top of one glass case packed with antique thimbles & pens & many other little things, I noticed a small Coach purse about 2 – 3 years old. LOL! My younger son said, «Does that mean all your Coach purses are antiques??» hA!!! Too cute! My boys found some old salt & pepper shakers that matched my kitchen perfectly!(also see business pics). So I bought them, the Marine shirt… which is super sexy on me, a Mohammed Ali Christmas Ornament for my 13 year old boy, & a pocket knife for my 10 year old boy. There’s a white fountain in the store. The owner has a sign saying, Make a wish! Then she has what each coin stands for. The Quarter meant that your wish was Urgent! Naturally my younger son tossed his quarter in while I was off looking at a Super Man belt buckle with my other son. My son’s wish… that he would be able to get something from Somewhere In Time. I knew nothing about the wish until the super friendly & helpful woman that worked there finished ringing us up, looked at my son & said, «See there, I told you the fountain works!!» that made my son’s day!!! We headed back to Spring once we left Somewhere In Time & on our drive home, I asked my boys what their favorite part of their stay in Galveston was. They said they enjoyed swimming as always, but they had the BEST time in the antique shop!!! I think that’s pretty cool comin from 2 rugged boys lol!!! If you’re looking for pins, match books, a vintage wedding dress, old timey phones, silverware, or even quilt squares, you should be sure to check out Somewhere In Time!!! & for other antique stores in Galveston, this super cool shop will give you a map that will lead you to several other antique stores. For now, I’ll stick with Somewhere In Time. It’ll def be a fond memory of what a great day I shared with both of my boys.

An interesting little antique shop. I collect antique pins, well my friends call them«Brooches» but I think that word makes the accessories sound too high falutin. Anyways, this place had a nice little collection and I got a new pin of two black cats. I have two black living felines so it was super funny to me. Other things were overpriced, some things priced spot on, this is one of those places that you never know what they’ll have so just go in and look around. Make sure you check out the Ike Water Line way up high on the wall behind the cash register.
