It’s clean and well stocked by I swear prices are much higher than anywhere else in the island especially their pre made items in deli bakery area. Sub par here. I own a home here and also feel they hike the prices during peak seasons. Just seems so much higher. I usually go to HEB in the league area or hit the Walmart where prices seem stabler.

This has long been my favorite grocery store to shop on the island. However, during my past several trips I have encountered exceptionally rude checkout workers. On my last trip during checkout they could not locate my Randall’s card number by my phone number. I seldom carry store discount cards with me as I usually type in my phone number on the card reader at checkout. It’s impossible to carry every store discount card at all times. The woman working the register said«your number ain’t no good» I typed it in again. She proceeded to tell me loudly I didn’t know my own phone number and was stupid for not carrying my card. «Um what?» was my reply I was so taken aback by her barrage of insults I was speechless. She proceeded to again loudly say«I ain’t giving you no disocount cuz you don’t got no card.» Thankfully the woman behind me handed me her card and said she had encountered the same treatment multiple times at checkout and they could never find her card by phone number either. Randalls need to implement courtesy training for their checkout workers. This is the third time I have encountered a surly angry worker. I will now be taking my business to Kroger after this last trip.

I am a regular here and do most of my grocery shopping at Randall’s. The store is clean and people are friendly. Check out is usually efficient although not always. Still, it’s not a zoo like Kroger or Walmart. How can they improve? Fresh produce and remove expired items! Too many times, I’ve gone and the produce is rotting and I can always find expired items. There is no excuse for this. I also appreciate any sacker who knows how to do the job right(like items in the right bags). Overall — The store manager needs to do a better job in my opinion. I really wish Galveston had an HEB.

This is my number one stop for groceries on the island. Why? It’s not located on the Seawall and full of tourists like Kroger and Walmart. Don’t get me wrong, I love Kroger but I would like to walk freely while grocery shopping and not feeling that claustrophobic ache when trying to get around Rascals and rude people that think because they have kids they are welcome to take up the whole aisle at their convenience. Randall’s can get pretty busy but it’s definitely a breath of fresh air in comparison. Their prices are pretty standard to me. Some say that Randall’s is more expensive, but if you have the Randall’s card you can pretty much find a good deal on anything in the store. Like Kroger, they also have the gas points where you spend $ 100 and get 10 cents off each gallon of gas you purchase. They also have a RedBox and a Starbucks.

Nicer than the Kroger’s I usually stop at and on my way to the beach, so both are a huge plus. Well laid out and easy to get in and out. However, the self checkout kept glitching while using it, but those things don’t work right half the time anyway.
