Great craft brewery nestled right on the island. Mark is one of the best people you can meet and his passion shows in his beer. Great selection of beers and very well done. Great open area for sitting and enjoying a beer in the sun. Absolutely worth coming to if you are on the island and love craft beer.

Great beer! We went to the free Saturday tour and it was also their anniversary party. Tried the tiki and blue bridge and both were great! All of the employees we so nice and helpful! Fun afternoon out of the rain! Highly recommend!

My list of brewery visits is starting to get staggering(no pun intended). But this brewery is definitely unique and good. It feels like a beach town brewery. It has a sizable front yard for playing lawn games and a cool tap room with plenty of taps and board games. The Tiki Wheat takes just like a Blue Moon if you like that sort of thing. The Citra Mellow IPA was a really solid beer as well. I was hoping to try some of their experimental beers like the Pineapple Coconut Tiki Wheat, but I guess I will just have to come back for that. Really cool side note: the urinal in the men’s bathroom was a cut-out keg.

The beers were pretty decent. I liked the good selection of hoppy beers. My girl also liked the hefe and another one I cannot remember what it was. We had the dogs with us and they were very friendly toward the dogs. There was a rooster there too so that was fun. Its an above average brewery and a great addition to the things to do in Galveston. Great patio and friendly service.

I’ve been around the block when it comes to breweries and this one does just enough to stand out favorably. Their beer may not be the best in Texas, but it is solid nonetheless. They have an excellent patio and are a kid/dog friendly. The also make a pretty good muffaletta sandwich! Its pretty far out from other Galveston attractions, so I am more inclined to visit during one of their events.

Great chill place with a laid back atmosphere! My family enjoyed the giant Jenga game outside on the patio!

I was surprised how perfectly crafted the craft beers were here at Galveston Island Brewery. The Citra-Mellow IPA has a low ABV but is very hoppy and blended very well from the start of the pallet to the back. I also got the Recooperator which is a DoppleBock and that was even better. They are really doing some amazing things at this brewery from the prices to the quality they put in their beers. Hopefully they start distributing to Houston where I’m from.

Well… As far as breweries go, this is certainly the best one west of 61st street! Both the Kolsch and Brown were refreshing; but for craft brews they were not very complex. However, for a hot as hell schweatty balls day… it was a great excuse to go inside and have a cold one. And since it seems to be the only game in town… I’ll look forward to coming back and give some other brews a taste.

Charming, tiny brewery off the Seawall at 84th St. I tried a flight of their hoppier beers and really enjoyed them! Taproom was small but had enough seating, and they definitely seemed to be serving some food items as well! TVs in the taproom. Big parking lot and some outdoor seating as well! I’d definitely go back!

On a trip to Galveston to watch my more athletic family members run an Iron Man, I ended up at the brewery. I guess you see my problem. My buddy Dustin has been raving about this place for a while. He was almost as excited to take us there as we were to go. He might have been more excited. Dedicated fan base is never a bad thing in the beer world. Fairly small garage area with a few tables and games set up in front of the brewery space. The brewery was an interesting setup. Sadly, I didn’t get there for a tour and it wasn’t all quite visible from where I could get to. Looks like it started small and has left room for a little growth. Good deal. The games out in front included some board games and a giant Jenga. As you could have guessed, people have helped to «decorate» the blocks. I point this out mainly because one had«Tuba 4 Life» written in giant letters on it. After my own heart. Inside, there’s two small areas. The first is the bar and a few tables. Nicely done and cozy in the front bar area. Bartenders were great and I never felt too cramped in the small space. The second indoor area was a slightly larger sitting area with bigger tables. It was very comfortable, had plenty of room for our eight people and another group. Bathrooms had urinals made from kegs. Plumbed and everything. Crazy. What may be the coolest part of this brewery is the front yard view. Nice, hilly, grassy area out front. It’s got a random disc golf hole on it for some reason. Probably disc golf? There’s also a small theater seating area set up facing seemingly nothing(or the single disc golf thing). It’s not for nothing, though. It’s for the view. The sunset is pretty incredible from there. There are way worse ways to spend an evening than watching a beautiful sunset with a good beer.

I’ve been hitting up all the local brew places I can and by far this has the best tasting beer in South East Texas. Good selections from the Tiki Wheat, the Blue Bridge and all the dark varieties(which are my favorite), to the specialty beers that they are always experimenting with. They usually have about 8 to 10 beers ready and we enjoy getting a flight before we settle into our pints. The bartender are all friendly and truly believe in their employer as I see them there on their days off. Good environment, and even though your in a metal warehouse, they have a cool copper top bar, a big area in front where people sit, sun and play games and a seashell handle on the men’s urinal which is a cut out keg, which is a fun touch.

Wanted to like this place more than I did. I’d say closer to 3.5 stars. It was a nice place, the people were lovely. They had food! If I’d known that, I might not have gotten lunch. Muffalettas and nachos and something else I forget and biscuits for dogs made from their spent grain. A win for recycling. Lots of goodies to buy, I picked up a t-shirt. What I didn’t like was the beer. It was kind of unexceptional to my palate. All looked the same and tasted the same. I dunno, the locals seemed to like it, so I’ll leave the place to the locals next time.

A Galveston must. While a bit further from most places, it’s worth the drive.(But I guess that also depends where you live…) The bartenders have always been so friendly and are really great at being attentive to everyone. Plus– who doesn’t love free little bar snacks! I also think it’s dog friendly inside because I’ve seen a few customers bring dogs in. The brewery is a appears to be a small bar itself but it definitely fits a lot of people– bar seating for maybe 10 – 12, 3 big tables and 4 – 5 little tables or so inside. Not very loud but definitely can fill up with people. There’s also a whole outside area but I haven’t actually seen too many people out there. I did see giant Jenga out there though. There are some other games inside as well. I personally always go for the flight– it’s the best way to sample several of their beers at a good deal. My boyfriend loves the Tiki Wheat and Hefen-A, which are the most popular, but they have a good variety for being a small brewery. IPA’s, porters, and other words my boyfriend says. Drink local!

Big thumbs up on a great local Galveston brewery! I wish I could remember her name but the woman working the taproom was both very friendly and knowledgeable. The beers(we tried quite a few) were all of the highest quality. If you’re a craft beer fan you would really miss out if you didn’t stop by and give them a shot. A bit of advice, try the Citra Mellow and the Tiki Wheat! Not that the rest aren’t great, but these are both quite unique.

With friendly people(the owners and bartenders are awesome! Please do introduce yourself and talk to them), great brews(ranging from their homebrewed IPA to their dark porter), a laid-back atmosphere and delivery menus of nearby restaurants, Galveston Island Brewing has great potential to be that«go-to» spot. Once they’ve expanded on their tap selection(which they plan on doing soon), this place could easily blow up and get bigger. Definitely come check it out before they become too popular :)
