Angler’s Bait

I can’t come to Galveston without making a visit to one of it’s many seafood markets and bait shops. It’s a bit hard to choose favorites, but Angler’s Bait comes pretty close to being one of them.
They stock lots of fresh fish, including flounder, redfish, snapper, shark, and tuna. They also carry live shellfish, such as oysters and blue crab. Finally, they offer some of the largest gulf shrimp in Texas!
I haven’t fished in a while, but I can tell you that they sell some pretty good bait here. You’ll find a pretty decent variety of both live and fresh bait. They also sell and rent fishing supplies to their customers.
Their prices are down to Earth and their employees are great. I love the feel of this place, which reminds me of some of the bait shops and seafood markets I used to visit in Louisiana. I also can’t wrap things up without mentioning the friendly shop dog or the wacky signage outside.
Shops like this make it impossible to visit Galveston without bringing an ice chest. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, there are plenty of good bait shops and seafood markets in the area to choose from.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area who is looking to buy some fresh bait or seafood. If you are unsure about where you want to go, Angler’s Bait is a pretty good place to try.

This is our go to bait store when in town. We go no where but here. Everyone is friendly and we especially love the shop dog!
