The food here is not Japanese food, the teriyaki is way to sweet and the rolls are bland tasting, if you want real Japanese food go to matsuyama, or oz, in Lodi. To bad galt only has this place in town if you want Japanese, rather eat at koala. I’m Japanese I grew up on Japanese food, this isn’t it!!!

My son and I enjoyed gyoza, bbq tuna, beef noodles and salmon/​tuna rolls. The different sauces were awesome and we liked everything we ordered.

Tried it twice! I will never eat here again. this is not fresh sushi! Both times I felt the overwhelming sense that my stomach was going to be upset. this last time I saw a male rolling up rice balls without gloves. I ordered the giant roll with tempura… the tempura was cold and soggy. they are not the cheapest either! I will def drive to Elk Grove and get better sushi!

The bad reviews are surely from people who don’t know traditional Japanese food or good food for that matter! This place is THE BEST in the area! When I’m in the mood for good sushi, I come here. You have to fork out some money for quality anywhere. I’d rather spend it here than anywhere else! The sushi is fresh and delicious and the staff is wonderful! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

This place amazed me! First off great sushi and price just right or just a bit pricy but the rolls are big. Really friendly employees that care, even went out of her way to make sure to clean the table before seating us. It’s small but awesome. Beer is ice cold too! I’ll be going back. Home Run in Galt CA

Fresh and delicious! Pleasantly surprised Galt has such an amazing Sushi restaurant. The 49er roll is perfection. Tempura was also perfect. Service fast and polite. Amazed how quickly the food was prepared. Small restaurant in a tiny strip mall. Come here for great sushi.

My 1st time and I really enjoyed it! Extremely friendly and attentive service!
No soggy Edamame Here! They are cooked fresh as they are ordered! You will get a small side salad, again fresh, and a bowl of miso soup with your order.
I ordered the spicy tuna roll! Loved it and definitely filled me up!
I would pass by this sweet spot for years and hardly saw much foot traffic. Well it’s because of their ability to process orders quickly!
I found my spot for fresh and great sushi! Thank you!!!

For small town sushi, this place is pretty impressive. They have really great tasting, high-​quality rolls and quick service. I’m used to the half-​off deals that all the Sacramento sushi places seem to be offering, so at first, it seemed pretty pricey. But on the other hand, you get what you pay for and this place definitely delivers.

A friend from out of town recommended Mama’s to us so we thought we’d give it a try.
Don’t let the small strip mall, unassumingly hiding in the corner thing fool you. I’m going to call it part of Mama’s mystique. This place is really good. We had rolls that came with a little salad and miso soup. The rolls are on the bigger side so you’re not left sad and disappointed when your food arrives. All of it was really fresh and tasty. We will be back.

My brother and I stopped by here and he ordered the BBQ short rib bento box and it was AMAZING! I had the tuna and salmon nigiri which was really good but a little on the warm side for my liking since it is raw fish. Overall, really great place to check out!

My fiancé and I love it here. Everyone from the cook to the servers are super nice. It’s very family oriented and the food is great! They have the best deep fried gyoza (potstickers) around. My fiancé isn’t a sushi person but he love the spicy chicken bento box they offered. I would definitely recommend people here.

The food is excellent, service is good.
The rolls are generous, and come with miso soup and a salad. All of the special sauces are great. I have never been disappointed here.
Prices are reasonable.
I’ve been to a lot of sushi places, and this one is up there with the best of them.

I’ve been to Mama’s a few times now and I absolutely love their sushi rolls. The service is good, the food comes out fairly quick, and their prices are pretty reasonable as far as sushi goes. I recommend their 49ers roll, it’s excellent.

Was passing through Galt for work and was in the mood for sushi. Decided to get a bento box for lunch as I was really hungry at the time. The amount of food was perfect for the price, in fact I was even over filled. I ordered the spicy pork bento box and even a California roll. The roll was just as you would expect it to be. The spicy pork however, was amazing! I was incredibly full and still craved more. The waitress was extremely nice. The place wasn’t filled at all, but then again it was a little after lunch time. Will stop by again when passing through Galt.

My wife and I have dinner at Mama’s at least once a week. The service is great! Eva, the waitress, always greets us by our first names — where can you find that kind of customer service these days? The sushi is delicious and the prices are reasonable.

We always order one roll each for lunch.
If you like sushi with a little kick get the 911 roll.
Great food. Great service. The place was clean. A little expensive, but overall a nice surprise in Galt.
