FIRST of all I wouldn’t have given them ANY STARS but in order to write a review I had to select a star. I will and I mean WILL NOT EVER RETURN and will FOR WARN ANYONE WHO GOES THERE! I’ve only been there 3 times and the times I’ve been there they very unfriendly, very short and rude … this last Friday my grand daughter who is 5 wanted noodles to celebrate her graduating from kindergarten so we went there and I only went there because she wanted to go there even though I have had bad experience in the past and thought OK I will give it another shot. However this day definitely had me furious!!! As my step daughter who is 11 and I went to grab a bowl to select our fixing for the Mongolian BBQ… mind you it’s been a few years since I’ve been there so as my step daughter and I grab our bowl which was closest to us where the cook was and when we did the cooked yelled at us saying there were bowls on the other side to get them over there because those were his bowls for after cooking… it threw me off as I was unaware you had to get the bowls at the other side thinking what difference does it make where you get your bowls as long as they were clean. after being yelled at I asked «why are those bowls dirty that I was not to grab those?» And that when he said those where his bowls after he cooked. OK one, why are you yelling at a paying customer? Two does it hurt the cook to walk over and get more bowls when he runs out or when a customer uses those bowls? That’s when my son in law heard him yelling at me from where he was standing which was quite a distance that just tells you how loud The Cook’s voice was risen and if you think that is it nope after we got our food we sat down started to eat at the table my son-​in-​law had asked for two small separate bowls mind you for my granddaughter who is 5 and my grandson who is 3… when are waiter went to the back to grab two small clean bowls the cook start yelling at our waiter pointed at our table yelling at him for what we could not understand because he was speaking in his language… that’s what my son-​in-​law stood up and said to the cook if there was a problem with our waiter getting us 2 small bowls and that’s when the other waitress (woman) who is very unfriendly walked over and said no there wasn’t a problem everything was okay… at this point I wanted to get up and just leave the food on our table and walk out… if i was our waiter i would have walk out and quit!!! No need to work with someone who seens to hate his job and take it out on his co-​workers and his customers… this restaurant is definitely not family friendly .DO NOT and I mean DO NOT take your kids to this restaurant if you want them to overhear an angry cook and OR BE YELLED AT… I know this was lengthy but ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Great ambiance. Live on one side and chill om the other. Good seperation. Garlic chicken combo dinner is a hit everytime. $ 11 and some change I got a heaping serving of bbq pork chow mein (awesome) chicken fried rice (awesome) egg roll with All the sauces you want and the BOMB garlic chicken. Great flavor. Bar area is great. Helpful kind people that work there. One thing I particularly like was the to go soup they packed me for my order. Kudos. Great job Hunan House.

Cheap. They are ok. Too much sauce on all dishes eighter too sweet or salty. Not a fan of this place.

Best. Chinese. Food. Ever. A huge menu and the Mongolian bbq is bomb dot com. Great variety of adult beverages as well!

Tonight we went there for a family dinner. They were very unfriendly, rude and it’s not a kid friendly place!!! Wouldn’t work with me for a child plate. My children are 1 and 3. There is no way they would eat a whole family plate of chicken chow main. Very disappointed in them I use to go there my whole life growing up.

I have came in a few times after work to pick up Mongolian BBQ to take home for dinner. When I go in there the customer service is horrible from everyone that works there. I walked in and waited 7 minutes until someone said how may I help you? There was about 6 times a worker walked by me and never said good evening or hello or even tell me someone will be with me in a moment. Then when I went to make my dinner to go the cook knocked a bunch of my food off the sides. I put a few pieces of broccoli on mine and when it was done cooking there was no broccoli in my food. I am done going to this restaurant. I have given them several chances. Every time I get the same service.

This place is good, but so hit and miss. There is one lady that has excellent service. If you get the Mongolian BBQ be prepared for the grill cook to waste alot of your bowl by pushing it off the side. Such a shame. Wish they would get a griller that could act like he doesn’t hate his job.

Hunan house while tasty in some aspects, is sad and gross in others. Their «crab rangoons» are nothing more then cream cheese, and no crab. I asked the manager why there was no crab in it, despite advertising there was and she rude about it. They brought out a new plate for me and there was barely any crab added. Also I received food poisoning the last time I ate there.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Hunan House. My family and I have been dinning here for 15+ years. We love it, the food is delicious and the staff is like family. By far my favorite Chinese restaurant.

Beware!!! Do not go here unless you want to be ripped off! Watch them dump your food off the mongolian grill just so they can sell you a second bowl. And there reason? The guy said it all cant fit in the bowl after its cooked. He completely knows whats going on and tried to cover for him. I watched him dump every single persons food right off the side of the grill. Nobody can be that bad at cooking to loose 1 third of your bowl. I was blown away. I will never come back i have lived here and eat here regularly. They could at least give the food to the homeless. What a scam they know exactly what their doing!

However, did not feel warm welcome from female workers. Not sure if they were not having a good day. 0 emotions. The only welcoming smile that we observe came from the young bus boy. My husband complimented him and told the young man to keep smiling, it will make your customer feel welcome.

Wishful thinking in looking for a good Mongolian BBQ restaurant. Hostess… Completely angry that she had to work. The picking for the BBQ was minimal and had been sitting for quite awhile. Literally was scrapping the meat off the bottom of the bin! The cook dumped a huge portion of noodles and meat right off the table top for all 4 orders we had. So much food was almost purposely dumped that he had to push it down the scrap/​garbage hole. He also looked angry that he had to work and cook for us. We will not return to this place and YOU should not try it to begin with.

Good food terrible service. I went with a group of four and everyone’s food came out 25 min before mine and they didn’t event let me know or anything just kept me waiting

So went here for something spicy. Had one of the wine tasting rooms recommend it.
Wow, what a disappointment. The Generals Chicken was highly recommended. It was not fried, not spicy, not good. It was very tender, I will give it that. However it was just wrong.
It was grey chicken, with zero flavor. I mean zero.
I would never order this again.
We did order the orange chicken dinner plate also. It was good, had a bit of spice, came with a spring roll, chow mean and fried rice.
All in all very disappointed. Our sparkling wine cried for spice and we did not get it. I would of been much happier with Panda Express rather than the grey, yuck meat.
We ate the broccoli and ended up throwing away our money. Wish we had eaten there rather than gotten it to go.
Really disappointing. Do not recommend at all. Maybe eat there I could of returned it.

Love the fact that there is a Mongolian restaurant in a small town like Galt. I do have to say the only reason it’s not 5 stars is because the man who cooks the food for the mongolian bbq is always super rude! Not helpful at all when the food options are depleted! But the ladies that serve are amazing, kind and never leave your water glass empty!

My family and I have come to this restaurant for over 12 years! I love their Mongolian bbq, best one I’ve ever had. And we’ve searched for a better one still nothin comes close.
Sadly the Mongolian bbq chef is terrible. He is super wasteful dumping half a bowl off the side of the grill only for it to be tossed out, sometimes I don’t even end up with any meat in my dish. And he always has a scowl on his face. I have thanked him many times when he cooks my meal and he never responds or smiles. My sister chooses not to support this business any longer because of him specifically. We still go but never look forward to seeing him. Our waitress is always friendly and nice. Their prices are ok and seem to fit the food.

So I’m trying to think of a positive way to spin this particular restaurant. The bar seems to be always packed which I guess is good if you’re into drinking. The food is okay it’s not bad it’s not spectacular.
What I do find that the place could improve on is you walk away with the feeling that they don’t care for their customers. I’ve personally came in a half hour before closing and they say they’re not serving any more food.
The biggest issue for me is the scowl on their face as they take your order and give you your food. I guess I don’t understand as another small business owner why more care is not given to the customer.

I LOVE great Chinese food — but this was not a place to find it. I ordered take-​out from the on-​line menu (which was wonderfully convenient) but wasn’t impressed with the quality of food I received. The rangoon and spring rolls were oily and average, the generals chicken was good, but not great, and the egg foo young was un-​inspired (I threw away ²⁄₃ of the order). Service was good and the staff helpful and friendly, but I won’t be going back EVER!

Meal of the day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Family own restaurant open for many years 20+. With the support of local Galt residents, great food with great company can make Any night at Hunan house fun night. Hope to enjoy yummy food for another 20 + years. Hands down! Never disappointed.
