I would never use this company after seeing how one of their drivers behaved on the road this morning. While traveling on East Broad St I was completely cut off by someone driving one of their work vans. I honked as he started to come over into my lane but he ignored me and kept coming. I had to slam on my brakes and come to a complete stop to keep him from hitting my brand new car. The driver then proceeded to flick me off multiple times. License plate number PHX5674. I’ve never heard of this company until my experience with this work van this morning. You should really be careful who you let represent your company.

We were very disappointed in the results. Mr. Schmitt was on job site only 4 of the initial 14 days. Floor was poorly installed. Shoddy painting. Project was over budget and past schedule. Our earlier negative review was deleted.

Stay away. Typical of many contractors, will take on more jobs than he can handle. So your project will be lowest priority. Spend a couple hours on your job, then off to the next. AJ himself will not be on site. Which is probably a good thing, since some of his subs do better work than he does. If there is an issue (and there will be) his answer is «we did the best we could». Too bad for you, because his best is sub-​par based on our experience. Don’t be fooled by the fancy van or «architect’s choice» hype. All surface talk and no substance in terms of quality, craftsmanship, attention to detail and customer care.

My girlfriend hired AJ Schmitt Fine Home Building to do a full renovation of her century-​old Victorian, and we were very delighted both in the finished product and the experience in working with the company. We found AJ Schmitt and his crews to be very professional, accommodating of our needs, and detail-​oriented. Their work on the home is nothing short of amazing, and we’re very satisfied with the results.
