Beware their chicken. 2 friends(and one of their friends) got violently throw-up-for-two-days ill after eating there.

Had a delicious lunch here on a weekday. I love the baked tarts — in general they have good cakes items. I enjoyed a salad and my dad liked his chilli. I will definitely come back in the future and probably try some of their breakfast food they serve most of the day.

Friendly service and delicious food. Must try the beer biscuits… they are life changing. Not to heavy/thick and pillowy soft in the middle. I ordered the sausage gravy biscuits for 1st time. The beer flavor isn’t overwhelming and nicely complement the sausage gravy. The hash browns are ok, I’ve had better elsewhere. I would pass and substitute them if possible next time. Friends/family have made this place their staple and I agree with them. Will defiantly go back when I visit the area.

In the chain restaurant wasteland that is Montgomery County, MD, I was looking for something unique… something I cant get anyplace else. Then I read the reviews, talking about the«tarts». Bingo. Went for breakfast. I get there and I have to say I sorta liked the atmosphere… it’s like what Silver Diner hoped to be but then took a bad hit of acid and only saw chrome. The interesting assortment of shakes, both for kiddies and older folk, looked enticing, but I was already paying 12 bucks for my omlette and 4 more for the star… which was the tart. The food quality was good, the sausage rocked, but the pitfall here was I was in Rockville. Cha ching cha ching. There is one star gone. The removal of the second star is for the waiter/barkeep. My order was simple 1. Jon’s Omelette, no changes made 2. 1 glass of H2O, as I am a coffee snob and have awesome coffee at home… never get it at a breakfast joint 3. 1 tart The man forgot about my tart. Really?

I’ve been here a few times, mostly for brunch, but once for just dessert/coffee. For brunch, they have a great selections and I’ve been satisfied with the things I’ve tried so far(French toast, Mark on an Off Day). My friends have had the omelets and chicken and waffles and really liked those too. For dessert, the cakes really are huge and are pretty hard to finish on your own. The atmosphere and location are great. The whole restaurant smells like their cinnamon rolls, at least during brunch. Parking is really easy, as there are a couple of parking garages nearby, and it’s a great place to stop by if you’re going to shop or see a movie around the area. I wish they took reservations. Sometimes it can be crowded in the mornings during the weekend, and the wait can be 10−15+ minutes. I’ve also come on days when they were less busy though, so it might just depend. The website says that you can call a couple hours ahead of time to put your name down for seating, but I’ve called once and they asked us to wait an hour or less before we wanted to be seated, which sort of contradicts the website. The service can sometimes be a bit slow. The last time I had brunch here, it took a long time for us to flag down our waitress for things like water refills and the check. A few times we wound up just flagging down another waiter because we got tired of waiting.

Came here a few weeks ago for dinner and I was very impressed because I’ve always come to Ted’s for breakfast. I kept my order simple and tried the Chicken Piccata pasta. After my first bite I knew it was a hit. You can tell that the pasta is freshly made by the texture and color. I added a couple pinches of salt to the dish but not much because there were plenty of caper throughout the meal. The meal was actually so good that I ordered another to take home for the next day. This dish is a must try.

Chocolate cake alert!!! So I’ve been here several times for take out only and my go to dish is the steak and tater tots. The dish is pretty good but overall this place is mediocre. The service is good and there are a variety of dishes to choose from but the thing that always draws me back is their chocolate cake. Now I am not a dessert person and I love salt over sweets any day but the chocolate cake here is to die for. It cost about $ 9 and provides an amazing fragrance for the entire restaurant when it’s baking but the taste is worth every single cent. Get the chocolate cake and thank me later!

My meal was just OK. I got a ted’s burgh. One word — salty. The burger patty had WAY too much salt as if it was just poured on with abandon. On top of the salty burger, the fries were also salted. The bread was nice and toasted. I was a bit disappointed since I’ve had such a good experience at the first location in DC. The service was slow. The wait was about 45 minutes. I saw some open tables so this puzzled me a little bit.

Came here last week. I had the grilled cheese with tomato soup with short ribs. Absolutely amazing. I was hesitant to order grilled cheese but the sort ribs drew me in. It was highly recommended by the easier. I am glad I listened. I also shared the peanut butter burger. It was pretty good with the spicy jelly sauce but without it not that great. I also tasted their pop tart because they are known for it. I didn’t think it was that great. But the sort ribs was out of this world.

Oh ho ho, I love Ted’s Bulletin. I know for a fact that I would be satisfied eating every meal here… for the rest of my life!!! They open early and serve breakfast all day. Boy, is that breakfast delicious and worth the price! The presentation of the food is beautiful and the portions are huge, so the day I went with my co-workers for lunch, I had leftover pancakes for dinner, as well! They were fluffy, buttery, and just plain amazing. Real comfort food. One of my co-workers also ordered breakfast: French toast. The other two ordered soups with either a salad or a sandwich. The chili looked amazingly hearty, but I have yet to confirm whether it’s beef or a combination of meats. The homemade(pop)tarts are delicious. The variety is a lot more limited than Kellogg’s of course, but there is something for everyone. I really like salted caramel and there are seasonal flavors as well, like apple pie(which started around July 4th). I have not been to Ted’s for any of their nightly specials, but read about them at the restaurant and online: Monday– Pot Pie Night(choice of 2 sides) $ 15.99, Tuesday– burger night(with fires and shake) $ 17.99, Wednesday– Fried Chicken(mashed potatoes with gravy and corn on the cob) $ 17.99, Thursday-TV Dinner night(varies weekly) $ 17.99, Friday and Saturday– Prime Rib dinner(with mashed potatoes with gravy and creamed spinach) $ 28.99, and Sunday– 5 hour smoked ribs(with coleslaw and fries) $ 17.99. They also serve HUGE Cinnamon rolls(as big as your head!) on Saturdays. So delicious!

Between living in two cities, I finally got the time to visit Ted’s Bulletin in Downtown Crown shopping center. Ted’s Bulletin is most known for their brunch items, homemade pop tarts, and regular /adult milkshakes. My favorites include the Short Rib Sammy and Strawberry Malt. I like how there are televisions playing old classics like I Love Lucy and Leave It To Beaver. I can’t complain about good food and good service(Thanks, Jonathan!). My mom and I shared a Caesar Salad, Cali Club, and Chicken Noodle Soup. The Caesar Salad consisted of romaine lettuce, asiago cheese, and homemade croutons tossed in their classic Caesar dressing. Honestly, the romaine lettuce wasn’t very fresh and the salad could have had more dressing on it as it wasn’t evenly mixed in. The Cali Club consisted of a toasted wheat sandwich filled with mashed avocado, deli-grade turkey, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and sun dried tomato mayo. It was served with crispy, hand cut, golden brown fries and sliced dill pickles. The Chicken Noodle Soup consisted of herb chicken broth with pulled chicken, twirly noodles, carrots, and celery. It was quite flavorful. Since we were quite full, we decided to get their specialty seasonal tart — Apple Pie. The Apple Pie Tart is filled with apple pie filling, dusted with cinnamon sugar, and topped with vanilla glaze and apple chip. I like how it’s not doughy, but rather a light and flaky pastry sweet treat. It tastes best when warmed for 10 seconds in the microwave.

There’s no wait on Saturday if you arrive around 10am. I started off at the counter for coffee and a cinnamon roll«as big as your head». That’s how its described on the menu. Sure enough it was huge. The roll comes with a side of glaze you can pour on top or dip your pieces. It was pretty good. The hostess was great and put us on the list for a table in case it started getting crowded when we wanted a table. We had no problems getting a table as the rest of our arrived 45 min later. The waiter was pleasant and helpful providing recommendations. I opted for the short rib sammy. The short rib comes between two slices of Texas toast and a side of onion rings. The meat was tender and flavorful. I would have prefered a plan roll instead of the Texas toast. too buttery. The side of onion rings were nice and crunchy. Overall I enjoyed my meal. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I wasn’t still so full from my meal from the previous night but that’s not the restaurants fault :-). My friend’s fries came out too salty and another friend ordered her salad dressing on the side but it came out dressed. The food was okay. We didn’t walk away feeling WOWED but I would be willing to come back to try their«adult» milkshakes. I definitely love their peanut butter bacon pop tarts but they were not available that morning.

Bf and I didn’t feel like waiting for Paladar and Coastal flats, so we settled on trying Ted’s since we haven’t been there before. Decided to try their Friday special of prime rib with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Prime rib was okay — good, but not mind-blowing. Mashed potatoes were not good — it just tasted funky. I really liked the creamed spinach though! I love that it came in a mini cast iron. Decent meal, although I’m not sure I’d say it’s worth like $ 24. But you get a decent sized steak — I want to say it’s 12 – 14 oz?(the waiter didn’t know the size when we asked.) We also tried their banana, peanut butter, and chocolate shake, which was really good. There were some small chunks of peanuts, and we liked that the banana wasn’t blended it(that usually overwhelms the whole smoothie and you only taste banana), but instead they just had a few slices of banana in the smoothie. What was nice was that we ordered just one to share, and then our waiter asked us if we wanted to split it. They ended up giving us two glasses of the milkshake, which I thought was very generous. Was a little full to try a pop-tart, but I might want to come back to try one — the current seasonal one is key lime.

There brunch was decent but I won’t be in a hurry to come back. The atmosphere for this place is a lot of fun. They try and recreate and old school diner without being cheesy. The menus are old newspapers and there are televisions playing old shows. The server was really attentive! They do not take reservations and instead to call ahead seating. Make sure to give them a ring so you don’t have to wait as long! The menu has a decent selection. We were able to try a few things on the menu and nothing stood out. Chicken and biscuits: decent flavor slightly dry Veggie Burger: messy presentation, the burger did not stay together well and was hard to pick up to eat. The only was to approach it was with a knife and fork. It tasted pretty good– it was nice to order a veggie burger that wasn’t a boca! Homemade pop tart(peanut butter bacon): I was pretty excited about the homemade pop tarts and it ended up being really dry. womp womp Adult Milkshake: Good flavor — I couldn’t taste the alcohol enough but if I come back this is on my list! Bacon and Blue cheese brussel sprouts: Oddly enough my favorite thing I ordered. Roasted perfectly and the blue cheese was a fun addition. The restaurant was fun to check out but it didn’t impress.

3.5 stars. Ted’s Bulletin has a fun, old school atmosphere. Their menus are in the form of a newspaper so I thought that was creative. They have daily specials as marked on their walls. The food at Ted’s Bulletin is decent for what it is, a fancy diner. It’s good, but nothing spectacular. I didn’t have any issues with the service when I went. I went with the Cedar Plank Salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The salmon itself was grilled just right and not dry. However, the menu does not state anything about the salmon being encrusted with black pepper. There was a little too much of it. I tried my friend’s tater tots. Good, but way too salty. Their Mac ‘N Cheese is on the dry side and needed more cheese. Their breakfast items are served all day. I’ve had their Pancake Stack with scrambled eggs, which wasn’t bad. Their Salted Caramel Pop Tart is way too sugary. I don’t see why it’s so popular. Avoid this if you don’t want diabetes. I’ve also had the Nutty Professor milkshake. It was good, but very filling. Our server, Stefan, was super friendly, energetic, and helpful. My friend said he reminded him of a character in a 90’s comedy movie. They do not take reservations. However, you can call and put yourself on the wait-list, up to an hour before you plan on dining.

Had high expectations for Ted’s Bulletin but left really disappointed. This was my second time here and I have to say there are consistent with their food not tasting that great. This is basically an upscale dinner with prices to match. DONOT order the Smoked Alabama chicken. This was just terrible. Skin is not crisp, but really slimy and fatty. The meat tasted like they boiled the chicken too long as it was tough and just unpleasant to eat. They brag their Reuben is the«Hands Down Best Reuben in Town.» That is an overstatement. For some reason they cook the corned beef on the flattop, so when you eat the sandwich the corned beef isn’t moist or tender but hard. For Reuben, I think Corned Beef King food truck and Clyde’s makes the best. The only saving grace is the tater tots and pop tarts.

Sigh. I really want to like this place. Love the peanut butter bacon pop tart. Amazing. The seasonal salted caramel pop tart was good not amazing. The brown sugar pop tart was just ok. Also depending on what time you get there they run out of some items. Went for brunch. Got the chicken and biscuits. Looked better than it was. Nice biscuit but not amazing. Chicken was a little dry and maybe the honey drizzled on it was supposed to compensate– but it didn’t. Home fries were good. Could have used more dynamic flavoring overall… it seemed like something was missing in the recipe… like spices… The chai latte had barely any flavor. Maybe it was made from a powdered mix??? Tasted like watered down milk… at least it was hot… This place is busy so call ahead if you don’t want to wait so long. Definitely stop in for the baked goods… however the location downtown has a better selection overall…

I was excited to eat at Ted’s after hearing the hype, but I wasn’t that impressed by the experience. I want to come back for another meal, but the wait system is inconvenient, and I’d probably eat elsewhere rather than risk a long wait. First and foremost, if you come during a dinner rush, be sure to call ahead to get on the wait list. The earliest you can call is about an hour before you come in. We did that and managed to get seated relatively on time, although I’ve heard others have more trouble getting seated. Also, try not to come in a group bigger than 4, as the vast majority of seating looks to be for parties of 4. The old school look inside is probably Ted’s greatest strength. Everything from the walls down to the menus makes you feel like you’ve stepped into the Roaring 20’s. The menu has some really cool options, like alcoholic milkshakes, a «TV dinner,» and breakfast available all day! I had an okay meal of a key lime alcoholic milkshake and the steak and breakfast tots. The milkshake tasted very artificial but was pretty alcoholic. The steak was way overcooked despite me specifically asking the server for it to be undercooked. It was overall a disappointing dish for the price($ 19.99) that I would not order again. I tried my friend’s country fried steak and really like that — I would order that next time or try something from the burger/sandwich list, along with a different milkshake. The bar looks like a nice wait-free alternative to eating in the restaurant, so I wouldn’t mind coming back for that experience. Also, the homemade poptarts are pretty good and make for a great quick dessert.

First impressions: great environment and décor, slippery floors, delicious drinks, overly salty food, inconsistent service. This may be long so hold on to your poptarts! They don’t take reservations, but they do have«call ahead» service. I tried«calling ahead» days before(too early) and then at 10am for a 6pm seating(also too early). So «call ahead» = call 1 hour before you expect to be seated. The hostess told me that calling ahead will reduce my wait, but I may still have to wait 20 – 30 mins when I arrive. I was pleasantly surprised when we actually got seated at 6pm! It took me longer to get my milkshake at the bar(where I went to anticipate waiting) than for them to seat us. My Irish Whiskey Coffee milkshake was really good. Since I was seated so quickly, I paid my tab at the bar, but when the bartender gave me my milkshake, she didn’t hand me the extra milkshake in the metal container. Why? Why didn’t I get it? My friend got her extra milkshake when she ordered at the table. At my table of 5, we ordered a variety of food: popcorn shrimp, buttermilk country fried steak, smoked Alabama chicken, meatloaf, house-cut steak, and the ty cobb. My friend wanted her steak super rare and bloody, but it was served more medium rare(*scratch that, she said it was definitely just medium*). The friend who ordered salad never got her dressing with her meal and had to ask our waitress for it. I personally thought that the meatloaf and chicken were too salty. I would probably not return strictly for the dinner entrees. I love the environment and décor, but we noticed that the restaurant didn’t really have room for groups larger than 4. It’s mostly 2-people tables or 4-people tables so I wouldn’t really recommend going here with a large group, even if you call ahead. In addition, watch out when you’re walking on the tiled floors! They were extremely slippery the two times I’ve stepped inside, and I almost fell when walking into the revolving doors. I’m hoping this is just because of the snowy/wet weather we’ve been having lately. I haven’t really tried the poptarts yet. Maybe next time I’ll go in, chill at the bar with a milkshake and poptart.(There’s two bars: one in the front and another all the way in the back. I think the little 2-people tables by the front bar is bar seating as well!)

Ted’s Bulletin has opened! Officially opens on Feb 9th. Ordered appetizers and the standout was Ted’s lil(mini-sliders): chicken with biscuit(biscuit was so good; tasted homemade) and meatloaf(yum). The popcorn shrimp was good too(not as good as the sliders though). The one disappointed app was their pepperoni roll(too cold). They have a very limited draft beer selection and was a bit surprised. Good cocktail list and makes a great old fashion. Pop tarts were really good! Breakfast is served all day, starting at 7am! All of the restaurants in Crown are small(maybe except Coastal Flats), so be prepared for a long wait! Great addition to downtown Crown. Will be back tomorrow to try their breakfast.
